I’m 6’7” and my wife forced me to sell our 19 JL since the speaker bar was right on my head. I want back in a jeep again. Are you really 6’ 10”? How close are you to the speaker bar after doing the kit? Do you feel you have more room and comfort?
i am unfortunately 6'10 haha. i'm a bit more torso than leg and after the seat slammers my head was just barely touching the speaker bar, but i removed the plastic trim that runs along the speaker bar part of my rollbar and above the driver and passenger door areas and now my head doesnt hit anything. my most recent video "Jeep JL Rollbar Plastic Removal" shows the rollbar with the plastic removed if you wanted to see, though being only 6'7 i think you would be fine with just the seat slammers. not only did they give me the headroom, it actually made the jeep 150% more comfortable to drive
So I just bought a set of the slammers but have not installed them yet.. I'm scared to cut my seat after spending 50K on the Jeep. Here is my problem. I am about 6ft-6ft1", I constantly have to rest the corner of my right knee on the edge of the console and it drives me nuts. Did the seat slammer help alleviate you knee positioning?
i went with the kit capable of lowering up to 2" as that kit includes the seat slammers for the back and seat jackers for the front. with that kit i did find that you sit slightly farther back, and the seat jackers results in the front of the seat being picked up with supports your front thigh/knee area. however, keep in mind that the seat slammers kit is mainly intended to gain headroom. if you dont have headroom issues and are just looking for more leg room, i would say you would be better off trying just the Seat Jackers (you can buy them seperately if you didnt get the 2" slammer kit that comes with them and they are just spacers that go under the front seat brackets and dont require cutting) or looking into seat relocation brackets that will move the whole seat back
Appreciate the video. I just slammed my JT today. FYI people, this works on right hand drive vehicles too.
Awesome job man. I’m 6’3” and this is definitely on my next purchase list.
Wow, so my dream of owning a Jeep as a tall person can come true!? Which Jeeps are compatible , and where is the link ?
Best thing I ever did. I’m 6”5. It helps tremendously. Hackers are great to
