Only just watched this, from a retired auto tech, that was very well done and explained. When we fitted new points or after setting with feelers, we would use a piece of clean cardboard from the points box, and rub in-between the points faces to remove any dirt or grease.
That's good tip, I always find myself reaching for a scrap of paper towel, never even thought to just use the box.
Spot on video. I tried the common motors video of this process however theirs was wrong in this case. Your gap adjustment and steps were great thank you!

Maybe you can help me out on paint. Do you have the paint code and name of the color of your bike? I am having a REALLY hard time trying to find it. Everyone says "VMR Paints" but VMR has no colors shown or better yet pictures of finished examples associated with their paint codes. Tanks are sold in India with that exact color, but they don't sell the rest of the painted parts for matching. Granted, I would prefer to re-paint my original parts anyways...
Hey thanks for the video, do you have any idea why my test light would be coming on and off opposite yours? When the point is set, my light turns off at LF instead of on.
Also sometimes just stays on constant whether points are open or closed. It’s driving me crazy!
Have you double checked you connections between the points/coils/condensers? Did you adjust your points gap to spec?
Hey Travis did you ever find out your issue. It appears that Im experience the same issue.
If you take the points plate off, look at the breaker cam on the spark advancer. Theres an index mark on the front of it that should point toward the side of the advancer plate with a notch cut out (near the arrow). If its rotated and installed 180° it will be out of phase. Look at page 100 in the honda shop manual.
I'm not exactly sure how you were so confident you were on the compression stroke without the plug removed. Either right side or left side will cause the cam "rollover" you spoke of, right?
Great video! You mentioned it’s normal that there is a little oil in de stator casing. Do you know if this is also acceptable for CB77 Super Hawks?
I don't think there should be any oil behind the stator cover or right-side crankcase cover on the CB77.

You adjust the timing of the right side by changing the point gap. Setting it to a specific gap initially makes no difference because you ultimately have to change it anyways.
