You cant get a used Fender Tele or any decent tele for that matter for less than 400-500 these days and would need more spending to get it near the Strummer on specs. For a MIM Fender with all the road worn kit, rosewood, alder, nitro and a hardcase! its well worth it and its looks and sounds amazing. For me the relic it all about how it feels to play not covered in shiny gloss.
I just played one and I’m thinking of buying it even though I’m not a clash fan nor am I thrilled with the looks of it but it simply player better than any other Tele I’ve played to date. I’ve owned squires, American made and own a MIM Player Plus and none play as good as this Strummer road worn.
You always do a great job presenting these guitars. Thanks for this one. The relicing however looks sort of like it was just stenciled on. Not convincing at all to me.
It looks amazing ;-) I'm not Joe Strummer fan, but I like the look and the sound of the guitar. I was thinking about American Ultra Telecaster - I'm not sure which one to choose now...
I just got a American Ultra Telecaster and I love it. Just pic your color and pull the trigger. Then play it everyday and bang up, rub the paint and give it buckle rash but pls don't buy a STOLEN VALOR GUITAR.....LOL
I have read comments about this guitar on other you tube videos one comment mentioned the fact that Joe would not approve of this if he had still been around why is there not a Johnny thunders signature Gibson out there or a Chris rea signature Fender this is not the first time that Fender have launched this guitar
£120 in 1975 or 1976 when Joe bought the 1966 used Tele is in fact around $850 today. At $850, (or $900 with an extra $50 for the special paint job) this guitar would be priced right in line with the $849 retail priced MIM Player Telecaster that it really is. But retail priced by Fender at $1,800... and ummm. So I'm still a fan of The Clash and Joe Strummer, even as memories fade of some of the specific current events their songs were all about. But I won't be playing Lost In The Supermarket on a Joe Strummer signature model. Unless I get a deal on a used one for what it's worth, around $850 or maybe $900.
Not a player series it’s a reissue 60’s model with a few of joe strummers modifications and also nitro cost a lot more to apply due to environmental issues
STOLEN VALOR guitars... someone explain this to me. Money? If a guitar has war wounds REAL in battle wounds, then it's cool but purposely made, no its not cool. Do the guitar company's think that little of our intelligence. Admittedly I'm not beaming bright with the light of intelligence but come on. I would love to have the real one but to purposely scar a guitar is a SIN yes I said it...)) SIN ((
I have the first one from 2007 just a few changes mainly the the pick guard and the neck plate
Excellent video
100 ££££ 🤣🤣🤣
Everyone needs a bit of The Clash in there record collection
Very nice 👍
Welcome back Cooper !
What a fantastic video I enjoy the videos
Have you ever seen The Clash live?

It has and even worse face to face
I thought Cooper would be on his honeymoon some where. I guess it's okay as long as his bride gets a song.
The magic of - recording ahead of time. ;) - Chris
Looking forward to the comments on this one...

@@Michael777Simmons The poly finish on new American fenders will guarantee that the paint will never wear away like these old guitars did

That’s a very modern guitar.
Not even close if you like a more vintage guitar and nitro.
“Should I stay or should I go…”
👍👍👍
I feel the way about this guitar like I do about all relic’s “new” guitars but if you are a fan it’s a no brainer!

There was a Chris Rea signature strat. He even published a video to go along with it
Nothing like spending a fortune for a copy of a beat-up guitar...some people have too much money in their pockets.
It feel your pain... It kills me. I want to talk to someone that would buy one. I need some clarity here....lol

Things are worth what people are willing to pay for them.
Lots of people think the price is fine.
Long hairs aren’t allowed to play these, Joe said.
$1800 oof
A guitar so ugly you would forever more feel obliged to explain to onlookers what the fk happened to it.
Opinions, how do they work?
100 quid sound like so much
It’s $151.26 US in today’s dollars. Don’t know today with inflation what that would be.
$857.03 (2022 USD) using the Bank of England inflation calculator.

These are not for us. These are for doctors who want some edgy "art" in their midlife crisis man caves. LOL
You probably shouldn’t buy one.

You sound insecure.
Seen it recently in a music shop. Looks absolutely cheap and crap
