This is light years better than the garbage on country radio. Kenny Vaughan's guitar tone makes me want to weep. Masterpiece in my book
Yes I agree! This is the start of something very big! Wow.
the garbage getting better too
@the garbage@
Absolutely agree
Psychedelic Americana vibe. Saw them last night - they were superb.
OMG these guys are so underrated. First class musicianship and song writing all the way!
awesome tune. has a vintage feel to it, like it could be from decades ago. love it
I have this CD in my car and it starts whenever I turn my car on and its unreal. Great road trip album. One of the best pieces of music to come out in years in any genre. Will receive awards from Americana Music Assn.
Man is a treasure ...thank you for all the years of music
My favorite Albums:
3) U2 All That You Can’t
Leave Behind
2). Jackson Browne Late for
the Sky
1). Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives Way Out West
Marty I AM IMPRESSED.. I see it. This music, hit or not, will start a new vein of
REAL Country music, not that fake crap. Thank you. You are a genius. Finally,
Country has somewhere new to go and still stay Country! GOOD WORK!
Still not over the timelessness in the style.... the important message..... the mental vision...
That velvety guitar at 4:22 is just sublime...
The guitar player is one of the greatest for sure
Nice!
Mister Stuart, I want to thank you for keeping it country. You and your group have a pure country sound. You're truly gifted.
Fabulous tune! I like the calming vibe. Sounds like it was inspired by the California psychodelic scene of the 60's. Greetings from Poland!
Damn, Marty's trippin'! LOVE IT!!
So damn good. Marty is as good as it gets.
Took me back to LA and the Doors and the magic of those times. That's what music is supposed to do. Heed the warning at the end.
love this- haunting yet paints a picture with each and every word. You have a hit with this Marty !
Reminds me of the last days of May by BOC.
Marty Stuart and the Superlatives with a slight nod to the Avalon Ballroom.......... time warp. Sho nuff miss the television show with all the terrific guests and those that have influenced his life and career. Terrific band as a whole and in their own singular works. ten fourrrrrr
cant say enough bout this song.Play my guitar with you boys with this cd.Im 63yrs old marty. You always inspired me with your jouny.Gods speed marty.
Excellent song with a positive moral to the story of this beautiful ballad.
Brilliant! Most country is crap, this is excellent. Guitars are awesome.
I agree with you. This 'is' great - it's more western than country style which has been ruined and more like rock and roll now a day - Stuart and his Superlatives are under rated- they rule and are great musicians, all. His music reminds me of the genre of Lee Hazlewood - listen to Summer Wine - etc. w/ Nancy Sinatra.
Sure beats truck and gurrrrl and beer country!
Speaks to me... The video imagery... 60's/70's Burritos/Eagles. The pills... My own last RV delivery to LA a few years back. The music.... ALL MARTY!
Yes -- LOVE THIS. I would love to hear them play it at Gram's Derry Down in Winter Haven. Super small venue, but a lot of history there.
the best are you boys.
This is a great song on a great album. Marty and the Superlatives are incredible. I'd like to see new episodes of their tv show. Maybe someday I'll be able to see them in concert.
Have you seen them yet?
I listened to the interview on Public Radio recently, had not heard his music before, now I'm a fan
Absolutely fantastic, this band kills. The tone is just incredible.
Mighty Fine gentlemen!
I'm having a flashback ! ,,Thanks Marty & Co. !
These guys just raised the bar for cool. I keep coming back to this video!
These guys just get better and better. Can hear a little Clarence White Nashville West vibe in there.
Genuflecting at the alter of Byrd. Mighty fine, mighty fine.
MARTY IS THE BEST!!
A simply incredible song, no two ways about it.
I’m blown away by this song! Thought it came out 30 years ago or something. Genius!
Amazing. Greetings from Colfax, Washington, USA
Proves you can be Christian and cool at the same time. Great band, Great song, great message.
That’s were you’ll find me, way out West! Arizona!
keep up the good work Marty and the superlatives you guys are gonna turn country around you guys are all over it
That's a blast, Marty. Y'all Rock.
Marty and the guys can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. Love the tone of this and hearing them branch out with the ambience here! Gonna miss Paul, but this just sounds superb! Chris seems like a good fit.
Marty Stuart; the best - the carrier of Clarence's spirit!
Definitely an homage to him and that era....
Tyler Ronconi I believe Marty had a clip on ytube about Clarence's famous Tele too
Thats really beautiful you would say that...
My VEYO driver dedicated this song to me on my way to the methadone clinic... Wasn't sure if i should be offended or thank the dude lol
but in all honesty, this song really opened my eyes to a better recovery 🙏🏽
Thank You, Michael in the White Prius! License Plate CFH9809😏
Have to listen to this song once a day at least
What a shame we don’t get the pleasure of hearing this on “country” radio. I hate today’s country music. I love the old traditional country music from the 50s/60s and then the late 80s traditional music filled our radios with the introduction of Mark Chesnut, Joe Diffie, Skip Ewing and of course Marty who has stayed true to his music. I absolutely love Marty and his band’s harmonies!
so damn good
This is one groovy song! You can close your eyes and see the sun setting out West. Seeing Marty on Nov. 8 - sure hope he plays this.
Album of the year so far......Marty Robbins, backed by the Byrds, arranged by Morricone.
December.....IT IS The album of the year.
Not arranged by morricone listen May range by the amazing Mike Campbell Tom Petty's long time guitarist and Main partner in crime and a hell of a songwriter and musician himself of course written many great great songs with Don Henley and Jackson Browne and many more Mike underrated and awesome that's why his production skills are fantastic and Marty tapped him to produce this album
I know its not arranged by Morricone....nor is he backed by the Byrds.....the influence is there......as is Marty Robbins on other tracks
The world ain't caught up yet to how good this stuff is your doing Marty with your group. It's original with so many influences I love and make a beautiful mix. "They" will catch up. You aren't spending 10 million to promote, but the product is superior, and cream rises to the top.
love so much
This is such a great song
What a bad ass song. Masterpiece.
My great-great grandfather was buried in Morenci, AZ before the rains washed-out the Mexican/Catholic cemetery.
Great tune, maybe some peyote inspired lyrics... This ain't pop country, this is Country Western, Outlaw Country.
Bringing western back to country and western. Love it!

I think marty stuarts new record way out west is the best out there...he and band hittin on some new vibe and I like it....
Mojave my birthplace :) Go Marty!!
Just heard this song yesterday on an LA radio station kcsn...listener supported. I dig it, reminds me of the same vibe I got from Stan R. Ridgeway classic Call of the West and Delbert MCclinton , Down into Mexico...Also the Cruzados Hanging out in California...I'm a fan of Marty Stuart now.
Again.....incredible
Wow simply amazing Way out West
Great tune, guitars bass vocals and drums all sound real fine.
Bruce Childs Pl
Needs a way out west remix!!
Just listened to this while driving east out of Cali to back east via the legendary I40. Perfect. Thanks Marty the Fabulous Superlatives...you are a national treasure.
Beautiful tune Marty, heard it as bumper music on coast to coast and you guitar sound brought me back.
Outside the line I miss Art Bell and the bumper music of CoastocoastAM. The whole I’m out in Phrump Nevada broadcasting about Aliens and ghosts etc. during the middle of the night.
Big country radio should try to find some room in their programing for this type of country. I know that market. This would fit in real nicely.
Love it!
Best song I've heard in many years. Sorry to be late to the party...as usual. Must've been one of those pills you mentioned. ;-)
Doesn't get much better than this great guitar trem sounds echo etc, thanks Mr Stuart and the boys in the Superlatives. Ex Territorian now Bris Vegas Aussie.
Dave Alvin esque. Love it
perfect beautiful song and video
Marty I'm not sure if you wrote this song or someone else did, but whoever did they are a genius. I always tell my kids, some songs are good and catchy and they play on the radio awhile and then fade into obscurity. And then other songs are a work of art, the work of a genius, and they are timeless and never lose their cache. You can play them to a whole new generation 20 years down the road and they'll still blow them away. To me, this is one of those songs. I love it. Thanks for laying it on us.
he wrote it with the superlatives and also Tom Petty's great heartbreaker Mike Campbell who also produced it.
Mike is also seen here With the marijuana in his hand
Or Johnny Cash Life,
Hey Jeff Jones I agree. The reasons are many that make the huge difference in quality. Marty himself is A child prodigy that still burns bright. Each member of The Fabulous Superlatives is a super star individually and together the come into the studio “road hot” and lay down tracks that stand up as well as their live shows! Truly a troop of legends.
❤❤❤
Hello segri
How are you doing?
It's a pleasure to have you here!
What a song! I've always liked Marty's picking but this song just knocks me out.
The images in Way Out West harken back to the photos (and style of dress) from the session for Flying Burrito Brothers first album. Marty has brought it full circle in some ways it seems.
Well Marty, I wasn’t too sure about you back in the day. My dam bad. I love ya-wild hair, scarves and all! You and your band have a new fan for life! Superb musicianship. I’ve got some catching up to do on past records.
Hello Linda
How are you doing?
It's a pleasure to have you here!
I could see Marty and Jim Morrison doing a duet on this song...if only Jim was here...Great song/video💙
“Shoulda got a room in Texas”... what an amazing line, had he got that room this story would of never been told... “here it comes, the story...” man we’re three minutes in already! Yes, I’ll listen to some more.... what an amazing story.... don’t matter how you get there....
Magnificent
So good!!!
Cool song from a killer good album.
Hauntingly beautiful and so true!
Has to be my favorite. Great album all around.

Great CD. Got it a few weeks ago and man it’s great. Love it!!
Love the Joshua Tree National Monument footage. Looking forward to the new album.
This song reminds me of when I lived in the High Desert of Southern California
Took a pretty blue pill and bumped this banger
Deep.

Love this song. It's supposed to be stoner psych country.
Got any more recommendations for that genre?
