Woah, that guy in orange looks cool :)
He knows the best trails
Hey Paul, where's that B-roll footage of his drops & jumps?
Waiting to see the other video with B roll from Pauls angle
His cornering skills seemed to have improved, looking good out there!
More than a local legend, world class MTB RUclipsr!
These trails are literally mind blowing, keep it up 🤘🏽
Yeah they are really good I wished I had this type of content for my channel. This trail rips.
Awesome riding guys! can't wait to get my new 29er!
Wow, Paul The Punter has become Paul The Punisher!
Great ride and video! When was this? Has been pouring rain in Van City for weeks. A few good days here and there.....
November
haha paul was over there shitting his pants you were like okay ill huck it! haha
That was aweosme dude 🤟 Dont you just love the wooshing noise on the forks n rear suspension thats when you know uve set um up right.!
Fab vid 🤟🤟
Wooshing noise?
I want to have these Trail in Germany 😂🤘
Keep it up!
Nice Video!!!
Really nice camera setup 👌🏻👍🏻
Thats a stunning vid Nick but it does look a tad. Scary :-)
the footage is so table. gopro on a gimble? what video settings did you use?
Where is your GoPro mounted? Is it mounted lower front of a full face?
Nice video, when was it filmed?
November
Very nice. Great stuff. When was this??
November
@@VanCan Thanks - the trails look super inviting. Trying to gage which months to visit.
What was that first trail called
Rupert
@@VanCan ah cheers bro
Sounds like a dh bike
That’s where u need the megatower
my 27.5+ hardtail spews molten lava turds all over full sus 29ers all day
Love the follow cam on Paul. It’s easy to assume you shred because of your bmx background, he’s a bit stealthy. He seems to focus more on progression. Doesn’t always show off his existing talent. This confirms that he's better than he lets on and he’s just kind of modest about it (I knew it!)… You both seem like solid, humble dudes. This was fun to watch. I hope you partner up on more vids.
Love ur vids but u Carnt get shown up on jumps and drops by Paul 😂
Love your videos man. I'm working my way towards a promotion that would move me from Atlanta, GA to Vancouver. I'll definitely be using your videos as a reference for trails.
Nice!
What do you mean by "29ers can't do that"?
Good question, I asked the same.
ya doesnt make sense because literally every single pro rider (with some exceptions) are now on 29ers. Annoying I keep seeing youtubers act weird with 29ers
Insecure 27.5 riders realizing how much more popular 29ers are
It's just for the views
It's to provoke I think 🤔 and it works! 😁
Would have loved to have seen some footage from Paul of you going off those jumps, since he was just standing there :)
I can't believe how good you are at jumping. Darn BMXers haha.
I dont understand the title.. why cant 29ers do these?
flow for miles , just the ticket for wet winter viewing , love Squamish
Yay, I love to see that my favorite RUclipsr posts a new video🤘
awesome vid but you get a dislike for the dishonest clickbait!
What?!?! You don't thank Judy in this one? After all she's done for you too. tisk tisk.
Amazing trails! I’d love to get there sometime. What settings are you using on your GoPro? Seems to be holding up well in the high contrast areas. Thanks, safe riding.
All I could hear was Paul's cassette hehe
Squampton! Nice video!
29er seems to be a very fast bike which is all well and good but does that wheel size lose actual trial detail? I ask because i remember back in the 80s we would have a lot of fun with slow detail riding, maybe something that has become overlooked these days as the 29er takes gliding to the riders.
RIP Paul the Punter!
I rode Rupert on a 24 inch cx bike when I was 8
Nice!
You can ride any of these trails on any bikes
Excellent video. VanCan, it would be great to incorporate the 3rd person shots that Paul was taking of you on some of the jumps and drops. Thanks for posting.
Riding with the punter
Hi nick great vid could you ride in new Zealand one day
Hopefully!
So are these all off-grid trails. Meaning they not under any maintenance crews. Other than the builders of the trails.
This place is not under snow or was this from back in 2019? Such a rad place to ride!
Such a rad ride. Gimbal footage FTW. Nice not having the shots go super pixelated in the dark woods. Love a good follow cam and the chance to watch Paul ride his local trails.
U shoud get way more clicks 🤨
Keep it Up!
Great video !! Impressing on the big jump .Cant wait for summer comming to Squamish for 2 weeks
I have a photo of my rental bike leaning against the tree at 7:09! We went to Mad Hatter though.
"The BIG BROWN WOODEN TUNA THANG... You just gotta get you to the top"!!! Bahaha!!
The moment you're watching a RUclips MTB video and realize, you are a coward. Triple.
Didn't think the Punter had some jumping skills. Very impressed💪👍🤟
Great video, just loved watching you ride through that beautiful terrain, I don't think there's many places more beautiful than that.
How tall are you and what size enduro do you ride?
6ft S4
You made the drop on Pamplemousse look too easy...and you didn't destroy you or your bike in the process :)
Ha it is a bit tricky
I heard of at least one person who broke their bike frame and several others who ended up in hospital shortly after it opened
Best video so far make more of them cause that’s like the 5th time I’m watching this one
Nice bike I’m hoping to order the 2020 Capra in the next week or so can’t wait
I'm so jealous! All of our trails are gone this time of year. Covered pedal deep in dead leaves.
Crossing jumping trails? Noticed you stopped before jumping INTO another rider jumping across the trail at 9:28 (look to the left). Who designed that trail tragedy? Fun to watch you and Paul ride together.
That would be me, the builder. It's a ride-around smaller jump that uses the same landing. Not exactly dangerous since the trail only diverges 50m up from that point and there's good sight lines.
@@RyDeR883850392235 Glad to hear. Love your work. Thanks for spending the time and effort to build these amazing trails. Just noticed that hazard and was shocked.
A 29" bike that can do anything with the right rider. . . . . .POLE. . . . .
Can I install 54t ratchet without changing the hub? I have a Canyon Spectral AL 6.0 2019 with a dt 1900 set of wheels and I think a dt 350 hub.
@Ganiscol thanks, what are my options? Buying 350 hub and a ratchet separately?
hope theres more videos like this! want to just watch these for ages on the trainer :)
Absolutely gorgeous day, amazing trails and The Punter is on form!
Enduro is rocking the trails. How are you liking it? Looks plush on downhill. How is climbing?
It’s really good. Climbs well
@@VanCan Looks awesome. Keep rocking the bike and prepping these videos. Thanks for bringing us along. That was a killer drop at the end.
I guess it depends on the 29er...? Those are rad trails for sure.
Can you tell my which trail is it from min. 3:00 and that jumpy and flowy after that ? And that one at minute 5:30 where you ask how the trail is called (before still hot tuner) I will visit Squamish next Summer again and would love to ride this trails..
Think it’s slippery salmon
@@duncanlaw4715 thank you, I will check it on trailforks.
Straight Outta Squampton. Why the title "29ers cant ride like this". Yoann rides that stuff on a city bike.....injured.
Stunning trails
And the riders even more ...
Come down to San Diego for year round riding.
Meanwhile Australia is a massive dust bowl
Sweet trails on a sweet bike :) I just ordered exact same one. What mods apart from Cushcore have you done? Anything? Visited Squamish for 1.5d this past summer and could have spent weeks there...
Nobl wheels with hydra hubs is the big change. Then I put on one up bars and stem.
@@VanCan I bet it is! I'll probably just upgrade the internals of the hub to ratchet and joystick stem and carbon bars and see how it rides :)
But that safety orange bike...
Those trails look so good I need to come ride there.
I need to get there!
That was a beautifull video. 🤙
do you film helmet cam?
Karma grip on the chest
@@VanCan thanks bc i am looking to start my own mtb channel
what a beauty of a trail! :D Thx 🤙
Great video, cool trails!
Love ur vids watched it all
Which trail is the second one (just after rupert)?
Looks like slippery salmon
27.5 FOR LIFE
Sick trail, sick riding!
What is the name of the flow/jump trail you rode right after Rupert/ before Hot tuna?
i'm not sure!
@@VanCan Looks really fun, thanks anyhow
Great video with Paul The Punter! There are some digital glitches at 11:55, due to lens flares I think. Maybe you need to check your GoPro.
Ah ya. That’s a problem with resolve. Thanks!
isnt that just the sun shining through the trees? whats the glitch youre seeing
@@hugh6025 VanCan fixed it, there were in the first upload
I’m not convinced the tire size is the issue. I think 29s work fine. Having said that.... I still like my 26s so don’t be calling me a fan of 29.
Well it’s definitely more work to move the wheels around, but I’m getting used to it.
Ah yes. That I agree with and that’s part of the reason I still like 26” wheels. The other is well I keep rubbing my ass on anything larger then 26”... and that ain’t fun. But that’s still just a difficulty thing not an impossibility...
If it means anything I managed to go for a ride with jay hoots a while back (he was working on a trail design in my area) and his comment was larger wheel size needs more speed to make it feel as playful as the smaller sizes.
@@VanCan From a viewer's perspective, it looks like your front wheel is wallowing around a lot more than 27.5. It's evident that you're not used to the geometic changes from that wheel size yet. To be honest, I'm not a fan of the videos since you switched to 29. It looks like some of the challenge, skill, and fun are gone.
That was awesome 🤘🤘
Do you guys have regular full time jobs or RUclips full time
Paul is full time, I'm a grad student.
VanCan good stuff. Thanks VanCan
29ers can't do anything. They're only good for climbing and some xc racing.
@@VanCan Right.
denial
Are you gonna use this bike for bike parks as well?
A bit. But I still have my tues
Wise decision. The 29er would handle park beautifully, but better to spread the wear and tear of the park between the bikes.
What was the name of that jump trail, after Rupert????
Not sure
Slippery Salmon
The Trail Snail thanks!!!
Great video dude love the good vibes!
Hows the 2.3 tire on the rear?
Good!
Hey Nic, change your max iso on your GoPro to 400. It will help keep an eye on the trail ahead whilst there are rays of sun shooting through the trees. Your welcome!
Nice riding! Was all this blind? Nice skills!!
Yup. Thanks!
Ha, I had to pause the video and when I came back and pushed play, the first thing you say is “the blind leading the blind”. Sorry!
Flats or clipless
Flats!
So what is it that 29ers can't do?
I know for a fact that 650b can't ride on 29 wheels, but 29er can ride 27.5 wheels.
Or maybe it's a clickbait title afterall...
What do you use for a gopro setup?
hero 7 in the karma grip
@@VanCan This was shot on the Hero 7? Woah.
I'm an 18 year old from new Brunswick, finally moving out in may and moving to bc. Maybe we can go for a ride! I've been making RUclips videos for a bit, we could totally film for a day or something!
Why can't 29ers do that?
Qual freio você usa e rotor?
I'm on 29" and by the looks of it I'd smoke you.
see you at the EWS ;)
I think u may need to service your fork, I heard it squeaking when u went off the jumps / when you preloaded.
I think you’re hearing the damper. It’s a lot louder on fox forks.
@@VanCan ok, I was thrown off because my dad's rockshox Reba does that too, and I think that's a service issue, because I've ridden other ones and they were silent.
This guys hoodies are 45$ :’) , get em killer
Making products is expensive
how does the enduro corner ?
Great!
