I really like your presentation style Scott, you cover the subject material in depth and I find your Vids easy to follow are really helpful. I suppose one of the problems with providing tutorials for ON1 is the fact that the software changes on a regular basis although now it's more tweaks rather than major changes to the application. I am more into landscape and travel photography than anything else and ON1 is excellent for that. I think developing a logical workflow is probably the most important things for any photo editor and it's an area that I'm still working on. Thanks for all the work you put in and good luck moving forward.
Just ordered ON1 Photo 2025 with your code. I used ON1 about 3 years ago. I tried it but not a smooth flow for me now. Maybe I need to get used to the new layout. I look forward to getting up to speed soon.
I am a big fan of yours and enjoy your videos and books on using ON1 Photo Raw. I was anxious to use generative erase and crop/expand. But they are slow and do weird things (partial feet, distorted bodies). I know it is not your software but if there are enough negative users out there maybe you could create a video about solutions or when best to use these new tools. I tried them on some soccer pictures and they were a complete failure.
Having the same issue. Generative Erase - Local is dismal. I was working on a train image and trying to take people out and it was creating cartoon cars. What the heck is that about.
I have a fairly high end (1yr old) laptop. But unfortunately it lacks a graphics card, so I cannot even try out the generative features. But then it sounds like I'm not missing much after reading some of these comments.
@@razoo282 I just installed an update to it last night which was supposed to have done something to that part of the program. Hopefully improved it but I have not had time to test it, hopefully tonight. But, yes, if you would want it for that, so far you are not missing much.
Thanks Scott, always enjoy your video and learn. How is the Library compared to LR, does it work similar but easier and can you amalgamate any of one’s LR cats?, thanks for sharing.
I am surprised to see that you are so positive about Gen AI. I haven’t been able to get one decent retouch with local Gen AI and moved back to manual retouching. What am I doing wrong?
I have had the same problem. It turns out that my computer is too old and doesn't have the right video processor. I did try the plug-in, Stability AI, and it worked beautifully, but their website is impossible to deal with. I, too, have gone back to the old way.
Yes, so far GEN AI local is horrible. I have a good computer and graphics card too so that is not the reason. It just makes weird cartoon things in place of others. Very weird.
I have installed the new version but not used it yet .[used your code] Could you do a video on the file saved file sizes using the new AI tools compared to the older methods? I saw some comments on another of your 2025 videos regarding these file sizes. This is something I realise I am completely unaware of or how to best manage.
I can't seem to finish gen AI download with eraser and crop tool. The rest of ON1 2025 all works. I have a slow internet connection here so maybe that's it? Thanks for the video Scott!
@@ScottDavenport Not after the asset installs, no, it should just load locally without internet connection. I'm in touch with ON1 support and we're trying to track down the problem with my Macbook M1 installation. Thanks Scott!
Just loading it, not going near any editing tools…it’s using 730% of CPU. The computer fans are screaming. Instant delete. And the computer can run 25gig PS files without a squeak.
This update is a complete waste of money That generative AI doesn't work properly. You delete something and you aither get a blur or something else appears that has nothing to do with the photo.
Downloaded and tried generative erase. Total failure. Get a weird message about content and NSFW. even though the model is in a speedo. And my erasing was on a light stand and part of the room showing! When I did get it to actually work, it filled in with words (what the heck) and odd Shane's and colors. Total failure. Which is sad because it would be a great tool if it actually worked and didn't try to shame me about NSFW content? Are you really going into content censorship? So far. Sorry the update is a fail. Hope generative crop/expand works better
I would like to see a review describing the benefits of using depth mask vs local region adjustments.

Thanks Scott, just downloaded my upgrade.
Enjoy it

I have my copy of On1 2025 Max and plan on ceasing my Adobe photography subscription and using On1.

Not sure... if still a problem, reach out to ON1 support. Local Gen AI modes shouldn't need any internet connectivity.

where I can find Magic AI in on1 photo raw 2025 Max
If you’re looking for Brilliance AI, that’s in the Develop module. The Generative AI feature is part of the perfect eraser tool in the Edit module.
A fair amount of bugs at the moment, but hope they get sorted out.
I get message need 4 mb of Ram... I have 32 mb.... ????
Probably 4MB of VRAM (memory on your GPU)

a lot of sales pitch very little substance that is not already in most editors any way and often for less money
The Match Color and Depth filters look cool, but I’m taking a pass on the 2025.
