    I LOVE it when foreign tourists visit California. I love talking to them; some of them say it's their 2nd or 3rd visit. I love it when they visit the giant redwood trees, the Mt. Shasta volcano, Death Valley at the below-sea level spots. They like our "low" gas prices.

    I wouldn't want to live there, but I would like to visit Death Valley someday.

    I was there in March 91 degrees and it was very comfortable. Plus all the cactus we're in bloom.

    DV is popular with Europeans for the same reason that Grand Canyon and Las Vegas is: Europe doesn't have anything at all like it.

    I remenber growing up in New England & there wasn't any a/c. I don't remember not being able to sleep due to the heat (& it gets very hot & humid there). Now that there is a/c there, I don't know how "we" lived w/o it! Maybe it's hotter there now due to global warming? I "loved" living there & would move back immediately, but it costs so much to live there-I don't understand why! Although well kept, the same houses R there that were there in 1961! For a 2 bdrm.,1 ba. apt. (w/radiators) is approx. $1500.00 p/mo.!

    If you can cook eggs in the heat....wouldn't they keep cooking until they either burned up or dried out? I wouldn't expect them to smell bad at those temperatures.

    You know whats worse High Heat + high Humidity...
    how come non of the tourist had any signs of sweat .

    • @lennielefler2081
      @lennielefler2081 7 лет назад +9

      That's because death Valley is very DRY, humidity often at 5-10 per cent.....

    • @misstranle
      @misstranle 7 лет назад +8

      Because it is so dry that the sweat evaporates pretty quickly. If you're in the desert and you find yourself NOT sweating, that is a huge problem.

    • @joliettraveler
      @joliettraveler 6 лет назад

      That is true, but most people don't know this.

    • @springrollwang4441

      Sweat will exhaust heat from your body. If you don't sweat, you're slowly turning into beef jerky.

    I'm from San Francisco, CA, and I try to vacation to destinations with hot weather. I would say 90% of the time it's cold and foggy in this city. If there is a sunny day, it's accompanied by a cold wind.

    This reporter acta like DV is Mars or something like that - esp. when he states that this couple is even "CAMPING" in DV. I've been to DV several times and even though it's hot, it's still bearable and not so uncomfortable like in humid places such as the south and even the midwest up by the Great Lakes. Plus, there's far more to DV than the novelty of the heat. It's an interesting place with mysterious-like landscaping and desert beauty to explore in the basin and the mountains.

    There’s only one road to these tourist spots and with all these earthquakes we’ve been having in California and Nevada...I shudder to think what would happen if the roads buckled because of a quake and they couldn’t get their bus out. Just google to see what happened to roads, bridges and freeways in California. Just a reality.
