I really loved the comment about reading a book differently depending where you are in life. I recently reread the Harry Potter books, for probably the 5th or 6th time, but I haven't read them for about 4 or 5 years. The last time I read them, I'd never experienced losing someone I loved. What struck me on this reading was how emotional the deaths made me, particularly Harry's descriptions of grief (especially over dumbledore - the admiration I had for my grandad felt sinular to how Harry saw albus). Even tho I know they happen, they just struck me in a way they never did before, because I'm a different person than I was then
agreed! harry's descriptions (or rather, jk rowling's lol) of grief always get me especially since like you i've also been more affected by it after certain events in life. it really gets glossed over how amazing and emotional the writing is in harry potter! :)
Clockwork princess was a wild ride. Never cried so hard reading a book in my life 🥲🥹
Ari and Dante absolutely took over my life when I read it and it was one of those books I thought about for months after I read it. Also I read Caraval at a time where I wasn't really liking anything I read and it was such a breath of fresh air. On the other hand.... I hated Pride and Prejudice lmao. It took me so long to read and I saw a tweet that said "its just a bunch of people going to other peoples houses" and yea.
I really enjoyed this!! Such a good and wholesome idea I would love a part 2 :)
Can I just say that your bookshelves are literally bookshelf GOALS. I LOVE how you organized everything by color.
I'm one of the 16 people that said Little Women 😌 and 16 is also my favorite number, so that's ironic! I also really love Daisy Jones & The Six and it's definitely up there.
I love this video! Maybe in an upcoming video you could give all the books a number in the list, so you know which place they have in the ranking and which is number 1, 2, 3 etc. :)
I will do that next time!!
As someone who both loves to read and is dead inside/struggles to get invested in most books, I loved hearing the comments and positivity here. Even though I haven't read or was meh on most (not all!) of these titles. I haven't read Six of Crows, maybe I should, but I feel you person who loves it for making them forget the page count! That is a rare gift indeed 📚💕 Sometimes you love a book for transporting you, sometimes for rousing your emotions, for technical artistic excellence; whatever the reason we all need different things from books sometimes, but it always means the world to find those ones that have just our kind of essential magic ❤️
I am so surprised about Six of Crows I thought the found family was okay at best and felt just like sets of couples and the plot felt like it had no stakes since they seemed to easily accomplish everything! Addie Larue is one of my favs and understandably polarizing ahaha
Finally someone who does not worship six of crows. I honestly find the popularity around is a trend rather than an actual proper opinion. Addie Larue was also my top favourite read from last year ❤
The Book Thief is mine!! It had me from the first sentence with the mention of death and chocolate 🍫
Where the crawdads sing is my absolute favourite book of all time so far! The emotion in the story, the main character and the scenery around her that was painted in my mind was absolutely beautiful!
I feel a little sceptical to watch the movie adaptation because it can NEVER live up to how it looks in my mind! :)
Was in the biggest reading slump, and "The Nightingale" is was brought me out of it. Will forever be one on my favs
I'm so happy to see Beartown in this list! That book moved me so much, I couldn't pick up another book for days.
Clockwork princess: Can still make me cry thinking of it. I picked up Shadowhunter academy like years after I read clockwork princess and as soon as I read the Will and Tessa scene tears welled in my eyes haha
Anne of Green Gables: All time favorite. Had to read it for a uni class and fell in love. Now I am collecting L.M Montgomerry books and it might eventually rival your Alice collection ;p
ACOMAF: Game changer for me when I read it.
The rest not my jam. But interesting to hear!!
Little Women is a great book. But I have to say my favourite book of all time is “The Kite Runner” and no one seems to have read it or reviewed in the past few years! TKR is one of the most beloved stories in modern classics, anyone who hasn’t read it: READ IT
Whaaat I was thinking of this book
Yes yes yes. Love that book too. It's been forgotten about lately :(
@@biancavictoria8746 I always end up crying and I hateeee asif
@@Newzz169 same but its worth it!!! 😭
@@biancavictoria8746 u right shat is a little trauma for a good book u read historical romance that is mg favourite genre any recommendations
I love this video!!! I want more! You should definitely do one by genre!
Through your video/channel, we readers can connect and feel less lonely and geeky for feeling the way we do with books! 💚
The Astonishing Color of After gripped my soul in all the best ways
Omg Road to Avonlea!! You've just unlocked a core memory. I MISS that show so much. Definitely a favourite growing up.
Love the atmosphere of where the crawdads sing as someone who grew up by the marsh!
Ah my fav book of all time is Ready Player One - it's just full of adventure and joy and geekiness ❤️💛
Looking For Alaska is my fav book ever, hands down
Hailey girl, whatt? Definitely, you have the read Where the Crawdads Sing! I’m pretty sure you’re going to like it. It’s a book that I wouldn’t typically enjoy but it’s just so different and it indeed is atmospheric!
My favourite stand-alone novel is probably The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. It made me cry. The ending broke my heart it’s so sad. I love this book!
My top 3 books: The Song Of Achillies, Six of Crows then The Seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo
Honourable Mentions: The Percy Jackson and the Olympian Series which started it all!
You are so positive and kind. And so pretty too, absolutely adorable!
So many of my favourites here.❤📚 I really love the Nightingale, Where the Crawdads sing, The Night Circus, A Court of Mist and Fury, The Song of Achilles, Daisy Jones and Evelyn Hugo. Love this ❤
ooh please do this video again but for different genres as you mentioned!! I loved hearing all those comments and I love a good list too. Thanks for compiling!
You should do a reading vlog where you read the books you haven’t read! Then you can tier rank them in your opinion!
3 of my top 10 books are on this list ✨✨✨ The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, The Hunger Games, & The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Not on this list but I just read This Tender Land & it was absolutely incredible. Read the prologue (which is only one page) and you’ll be hooked.
'A walk to remember' by Nicholas Sparks. Landon's arc was amazing.
Crawdads is one of my fave all time books too. I didn't want to leave the marshlands of North Carolina. Please read it!! 💛
I love Anne of Green Gables! I’m planning on reading the second book this year.
Under the whispering door! Also Sweet Bean Paste and Before the coffee Gets Cold, and They Went Left.
Little Women is my mom's favorite book, which is how I got the middle name Jo. If I ever have a daughter, her middle name will be Beth.
Hi Hailey!! Always super excited to get a new video from you 📚
Same excitement 🤩 You look AMAZING 😉
My favorite book of all times is the lord of the rings. However my favorite recently read book has to be literally everything Murakami has written with special shout-out to Kafka on the shore and colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and his years of pilgrimage.
This was so cool! It would be cool to do a reading Vlog reading these books because there’s a lot on this list that I haven’t read.
not Six of Crows being one of the worst books I’ve ever read😭😂
Evelyn Hugo was insane I’ve never read a book like that
I love Kristin Hannah- the great alone Is my favourite of hers!
I totally didn’t expect the number 1 :o I mean, I really like it but it didn’t have the emotional punch some of the other books definitely have, so I never considered it as an absolute favourite. Very cool video idea :)
So happy Perks was on this list 💛
I love Bear town- it’s incredible just finished the follow up novel. The characters and setting are perfection 💕
I love this video! I think it's great that you read people's comments too because that was really interesting to hear. I'd love more of these in the future!
I definitely will!
I love radio silence with a passionnnn. All of Alice Oseman's books are perfect
I absolutely love this video. Very uplifting. 😊 I've read several of the books mentioned here, but now I want to read all the other ones too!
I genuinely have no idea what my favorite book is 😂 I really like Dracula by Bram Stoker because of the fantastic use of multi-POV storytelling. I also adore Daisy Jones and the Six because it's so immersive and feels so real. Also I was very moved by Concrete Rose.
The invisible life of Addie LaRue was a wired one for me, I got it because of the hype and I started reading it and then put it down for like 6 months because it became a chore to read. I moved out to my first house and i decided it was time to finish it. I pushed myself and finally I hit a point where I actually got lost in the book and started to really enjoy it. Overall I’d probably read it again and enjoy it more knowing what happens but the first 1/3 really took some effort to get through.
Would love to see a video on the community’s favourite series overall too :)
ohhh good idea!
I was so happy when I saw Little Women made it to the list as I was one of the people who answered in the Google form that it's my favorite book 😍❤️
this was such a nice happy video
I hope mine is here ...i filled the survey form
Is it?
It was great to see so many people's favourites! I would have loved to see the underrated books that only a couple people mentioned as their favourite! I feel like the one I submitted (Identical by Ellen Hopkins) was one of those. 😅
I was obsessed with that book when I first read it! I didn’t like it quite as much upon reread, but still a good book.
picking just one favorite is so hard. I probably have like 20 favorites if not more.
A great video! It’d be fun to do dedicated videos for each book doing a deeper share on peoples comments! So we can keep the wholesomeness going!! 🤣❤️
My ultimate fave (Autoboyography) didn’t make it, but I love Addie LaRue with every fibre of my being, so I was chuffed to see it on the list.
My mom tried me to get me to read Anne of Green Gables when I was younger and I always refused 😂
I'm definitely surprised to see Six of Crows on the top of this list 😮
I wish you can do all the bookshelves tour for this year
Those bookshelves!!!😍🤤
Great video 😊 I love Anne of Green Gables... I think I love the newer show on Netflix called Anne with an E more than the original one 😊 And I don't know if this was my favourite book per se, but it definitely was one that made such an impact on me and that is A Monster Calls...it just hit me so much when I read it for the first time..😊
I’m so happy a Leigh Bardugo book was #1. She’s my favorite author. My personal favorite book of all time is Ninth House, but I know that’s a polarizing choice so I was glad to see Six of Crows make it instead. 😁 a lot of the other books I’m just meh on but they are definitely popular, so I feel like this is a great list.
I would list the following as best books: "Don Quixote" Cervantes; "Remembrance of Things Past", Marcel Proust; "The Alexandria Quartet" Lawrence Durrell; "On the Eve" Ivan Turgenev, "Invisible Cities" Italo Calvino.
My favourite book is The Mercies
I feel exactly the same way about Aristotle and Dante that you do!!
I love this format!
Great Video Hailey Can’t wait for part 2 And you’re right I loved Six of Crows too and I’m really enjoying The Shadow and Bone Netflix series that I’m finally watching the actor they got to portray Kaz Brekker is phenomenal 😁😁
Harry Potter are my top favourite books of all time. They will always be my favourite books. I have all seven books in the series all in the original covers. It took my grandmother months to find them all for me in the original covers. The Harry Potter books are so so good. I love them so much. I am actually going to start reading them all again. They are literally the best books in the world!
Oh, Percy Jackson is my all-time favorite because of where I was when I read it too!! I will say, I love the characters but the writing itself is not masterful or anything like that. It feels more like a friend is retelling a tale in a funny way. Still love it so much. Definitely going to read all the ones I haven't on this list, thank you so much!!
Thank you I'm Gona read some of these. Can you recommend some non fiction as well? Thanksss
Love the books in rainbow order❤️
Okay. What about Harry Potter ?
Mine are "Portrait of a thief,If I had your face, These violent delights and Our violent ends".
Mine is White Oleander by Janet Fitch. Nobody talks about it tho…
I LOVEEE THIS VIDEO SO MUCH, HAILEY!!! kinda disappointed that Malibu Rising (my fave!!) is not on the list but , it's fine 😄😄😄 I enjoyed Six of Crows too
My top books are Gone With The Wind, Anna Karenina, ACOMAF, Zodiac Academy and Kiss the Sky.
My least favorite books, 50 Shades of Grey, The Old Man and The Sea, the Picture of Dorian Gray
I am only half way through the video, and I love it so much!! 🥲
Books I read that you reccomend: Amy and rogers epic detour 100/100 my life next door was amazing !( 1000 1000) Thank you so much for your amazing channel
I was getting ready to comment on Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo if I didn't see it lol. I love that book with every fiber of my being.
My Side of the Mountain is my favorite book
Love this video and your amazing channel please stay safe and enjoy your reading love your family friend John xxxx
I love the infernal devices series I prefer that over the mortal instruments. I also love caraval, for me daisy jones I didn’t like it as much as everybody else but I love & prefer Evelyn Hugo & Malibu rising over daisy. I love Addie larue one of my favs but I kinda get why people wouldn’t like it tho. I love everything about Evelyn Hugo I the old Hollywood setting etc.

loved this video! But I'm so sad my favorite book of all time wasn't on this list. The Hearts Invisible Furies. but So glad The 7 husbands of Evelyn Hugo was high on the list. I loved that book as well!
I read it recently and I LOVED IT! The characters were really interesting and felt like real people, love the way everything just came around in the end. Definitely wasn't expecting to like it but I did and I think I'll never forget this book.
I enjoyed anne of green gables, and my mom actually went to see the actual house from the movies
oh i forgot i filled the survey for this :)
Lol I really hated Addie larue. Happy others liked it.
hailey you look fabulous.
Love love LOVED this video!!
the two books tied with 11 people calling it their faves are my two all time favorite books too~ clockwork princess (the entire trilogy tbh) and ari and dante mean just so much to me and the way that person put it, about it being read at a time just right is so true. these books feel like home even 6 years later
One time someone compared my friends and I to the group in The Perks of Being a Wallflower so I've always wanted to read it but am scared about if I won't like it.
omg you read my comment ! that just went around and made my day 😂
Great choice!
Did you read this book?
Crossroads
“The Football Coach’s Wife” series. Fiction novellas
7:10 i choose clockwork prince
i’m trans ftm and i related to aristotle and dante so much that i named myself after the character aha
I love that so much 💜
Crooked Kingdom is way better than Six of Crows in my opinion, but it's understandable.
i could not get through P&P. i personally enjoyed Mansfield Park or S&S by Austen much more
Since I submitted my answer I've been wanting to change it 😭 it's so hard to decide
Loved this video please do more fun videos like this one 👍😍
The Night Circus is my all time favourite book. Especially the audiobook.
