There’s an imbalance of woman ministry for marriage. I’m a man and my wife wants a divorce. I don’t. I love her. I’ve been listening to many separation and marriage ministries, but it always seems that men are the problem. I know I need changes and Ned prayer. I’m willing to yield to the Lord.

Oooo Nancy! THAT ONE RIGHT THERE… I prayed Change me or change him! And then woke up the next day in the SAME DANG ARGUMENT with my husband and ABSOLUTELY HEARD HIM DIFFERENTLY. I was astounded. By the grace of God He started to change me, the way I was hearing, seeing, thinking, responding… it was wild! Now, eight years later I’m revisiting the book again for the next level, for a fresh reminder. I also highly recommend her book the power of prayer to change your marriage… that one has some serious weight behind it. It’s like whoa! Praise Jesus for women who have gone before us, that they have found a way to stay and see God’s work grace and mercy in their marriages so that we can learn from their wisdom.

This is wonderful truths of the Bible, and the heart of God. But if you are in an abusive relationship, you need to get out. You cannot wait for God to change him! This includes mental emotional physical abuse. God loves us, and he would never call us to stay in an abusive relationship.
If you want something that you want you don't get it but when you don't want it you get it and when you get it and start to want it you lose it Maintain absolute indifference at all material times! Whenever I would choose to focus on God over this guy, he would call me right out of the blue... and once I showed the slightest bit of interest in him, then he'd start acting up. This has happened so many times this 2021 alone. So I guess my question is, how do I not want what I want when I truly do want it? How do I ignore what I want and retain it? How would I enjoy something I'm not paying attention to? Maybe that's what Jesus meant when He said if you keep your life you'll lose it but you lose your life you'll find it. Holy SPIRIT Help me!

A lady Bible counselor told me that we cannot have a happy marriage and that we are to serve our spouse (which I believe) and not to expect our needs to be met. Ok. She told me that I have to live the rest of my life in an unhappy marriage and does not tell me how to turn it around. I told her that when we serve our spouse, it's possible that some of our needs could be met sometimes and she said no it won't. She also said that "wanting affection from your husband is an idol which is a sin." I have never heard this before and she has me confused and feeling like affection is a sin. Has anyone heard of this before?

no I have never heard of that. confusion does not come from God. The secret to a happy marriage is to love God first, and yourself. You can't give something you don't have. Afterward you will have the strenght to pray for him, your children and everything else around you.
The truth shall set you free. Her message was a message of bondage and that is how you know it's not true. Marriage isn't suppose to be easy. It's a ministry. Ecclesiastes 4 speaks on how two are better than one and a 3 fold bond is not easily broken. This scripture speaks on how two can come together to endure hardship with victory in Christ. We don't come together for total suffering. God still keeps His promises of joy comes in the morning, he who keeps his mind on me shall have peace, seek God and His kingdom and all shall be added unto you. Marriage is a sacred parallel to the Church (Bride) and Jesus ( Groom). The Groom laid down His life for the bride giving her affection, peace, joy, love like no other. The Bride honors her groom by telling all nations about Him and honoring Him. Husbands are to love their wives like Christ Loves His Bride (Church/us). Therefore it's nothing wrong with wanting affection but our total fullness comes from the Lord. Wives are to honor their husbands. So as the both of you are in Christ you both will serve each other as unto serving the Lord. You both are to be submissive unto each other. It's not about signing up to slavery but to Glorify God's relationship that HE has for us as we are the Bride and Christ is our Groom. His Love endures and conquers all. If we abide in Him, so will ours. God bless you sister in Jesus's Name! I cancel those lies of the devil with the Blood of JESUS CHRIST! AMEN!
Do google search of "Studies on intercessory prayer" Nothing fails like prayer. We have to learn to rely on ourselves, friends, family and others..........There is nothing more important that to care of and for each other.
with all due respect to this lady here - I think her prayer helped her realize how to behave and control her compulsion to judge him-- she become a loving person FOR her husband. I think her husband was angry because of HER other wise he would still be angry and nothing would change. Just my thoughts ;-)
