Why do people today think that everyone must go to university? I mean nearly every thing in college is directed towards universities. What about other career paths you can take such as work apprenticeships you can get in the motor trade, hair and beauty, electronics trade etc. Life isn't just about going to university and getting a degree to get a job thats no where to be seen. I've heard a lot of stories where a person has got a degree but can't find a job when they know someone who went to

Not wanting the prime minister to give our country away? I think if you look around ordinary working people, rather than the political elite, you will find a lot of people with those views. For the prime minister to just not address those views on the grounds that they are 'bigoted' is extremely arrogant, and why he was not fit for office.

+David McGinness They are not visiting, they are coming here as economic migrants to live, because our wages are higher. But if you have too much supply of labour, this pushes down the wages. That's the facts of supply and demand. No-one dislikes Eastern Europeans, but a lot of people (clearly not you) believe it is the job of our elected government to allow a sensible number of people into our country and act in our country's interest. This is what Australia does. Are they idiots and bigots?

Has not Labour been in power, and brought about these things before? Now their amendments must be amended, as if there were some end-goal of perfection that could be attained. Another question: If we could get more of these off-camera, off-the-record comments from the politicians, what would they be saying?

Although I was too young to vote and had fuck all clue about politics at the time, this moment made me really like Gordon Brown, crap Prime Minister or not
Same here.
Nice one Sue... LOL!
When Gillian Duffy said that she was ashamed to be Labour Gordon Brown should have asked why instead of saying that she shouldn't be. That's what started to wind her up. Also he mentioned 'hard working families' instead of 'working people' which Ed Miliband would refer to instead.
This was the final nail in his coffin.
I've heard a lot of stories where a person has got a degree but can't find a job when they know someone who went to
I really feel for Gordon Brown. The ideal politician is the type who can swallow all the shit they get fed by the unfair media and idiot voters but Gordon Brown just couldn't do that.
+David McGinness Yes, how dare those 'idiot voters'. We know that's what Gordon thought, hence why he was never elected.
MHL83 I obviously wasn't calling all voters idiots, I was reffering to voters who also happen to be idiots i.e. people like Gillian Duffy who is th subject of this video. I didn't realise I needed to spoonfeed you, sorry.
+David McGinness What makes her an idiot? Working all her life? Raising a family? Being concerned for the job prospects of her children and grandchildren? Not wanting the prime minister to give our country away? I think if you look around ordinary working people, rather than the political elite, you will find a lot of people with those views. For the prime minister to just not address those views on the grounds that they are 'bigoted' is extremely arrogant, and why he was not fit for office.
MHL83 You can be a hardworker and an idiot ya know.. I'm sorry but if you dislike someone because they were born on a different piece of dirt from you and would like to visit your piece of dirt then yes, you are an idiot. Sorry
@SRPC21 I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed how unbalanced the reporting is in some cases. The real scandals never get any airtime.
Oh dear, Sue's for it. He shouldn't apologise though... she is a bigot by any dictionary definition. A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices. Making most of us bigots, probably. Personally I have a deep seated loathing for xenophobes, can't tolerate them.
Well at least politicians in England will spend 5 mins speaking with a civilian.
2:02 Gordon says "Cut the debt by half in the next four year"
No wonder the country is in such a mess. He does not know the difference between deficit and debt!
You can clearly tell the labours from the non labours in this comment section!!
Very The Thick of It. Anyway, this actually endears me to Gordon - it shows that he is privately anti-bigotry. Why should he apologise for this?
I think the only word to describe that exchange is 'facepalm'.
RIP Sue
+SempiternalScientist She at least deserves a stapler thrown at her for that.
such a wonderful gaff, great video!
The hypocritical self righteous Presbyterian
This man has 184 trident neuclear missiles under his fingertips so you respect what he says sonny. SHE IS A BIGOTED WOMAN - SIR YES SIR. (Don't hit me again Mr Brown, Please .....)
'And the education system in Rochdale will congratulate it' ?? That makes no sense
@annie10103 My point is though that Gordon Brown got bad press for ages while the BNP did something much worse and it was not even front cover news.
I think in light of BNP's surge in popularity leading up to this election it would have been good for the press to remind people what they would really be voting for
Its what you call a full roast!!
don't hold back, let the venom pour, feel the evil blood running through your veins. Good, I can feel your anger. I am defenseless. Take your weapon. Strike me down with all of your hatred and your journey towards the dark side will be complete!
I think Gordon thought she said 'fucking' not 'flocking'. Silly bugger, great his career is finished.
Bigotgate - occurred on 28 April 2010 when a Sky News microphone picked up British Prime Minister Gordon Brown describing Rochdale resident Gillian Duffy as a "bigoted woman" while campaigning for the 2010 UK General Election.
Biscuitgate - Media controversy over then-British Prime Minister Gordon Brown's reluctance to declare his "favourite biscuit".
Hahaha this makes me laugh, now i want a clip of Biscuitgate ahaha
I'd like to pose a question: Why the need for greater police funding, better schools, and improved healthcare? Are these are bandages on a wound that ought to be stitched? Has not Labour been in power, and brought about these things before? Now their amendments must be amended, as if there were some end-goal of perfection that could be attained.
Another question: If we could get more of these off-camera, off-the-record comments from the politicians, what would they be saying?
* college, studied hard and started their own business, or found a job with a company by becoming an apprentice. Cant you see that these university fees are are making the poor poorer and the rich richer? The fees are paying for dave's dinner at his favourite restaurant tonight.
There are over 1,000,000 people living in Europe...only difference Gotdon is that almost 100% of these are either retired or have a job.
@modblues Well said she is just a moan! Tell me pls in which country the pensions are not taxed?
It's a shame Gillian Duffy wasn't planted by the Conservatives as a trap for him to fall in to (Murdoch switches political allegiances and the "bigoted woman" remark is recorded by Sky) and instead plays out like a scene from a satirical sitcom.
See thats why the American system is so much smarter - voters never have the chance to talk to the president in the first place...
Mrs Duffy how are your grand kids going to go to Universities now?
hahaha! I fucking love ol brownie for this.
Yeah. I gathered that when she said that she had voted Labour all of her life.
Ahahaha bad Gordon!!! He was right, not a lot of eastern europeans 'flock' to England, its funny XD
SUE!?!?!! WHAT DID YOU DO!?!?!?!
"I voted Labor all my life but now..."
I was a Dem all my life and then...
Wow it is happening every were. Musical chairs.
I get this lady.
Racist
she actually is bigotted. how he could muster so much patience, is beyond me.
Do you regret this comment?
Haha spongegubbins thats so true lol
