Whoever is in charge of the broadcast has no idea how to market DH. Absolutely rubbish. You've ruined the format and now hiding the racing from the fans.
Yep! Watching the final. Shows about 3 seconds of the start then cuts to 3mins into the run which is the final fast jump section. So boring to watch. Can’t see any line choices etc. just showing the obvious spectacle part for the ‘public’.

Any explanation why the semi finals wasn’t live streamed today? Already Seemed like a huge unnecessary risk for the riders which is utterly pointless if you aren’t going to even show it.

They didn't even post that their was a stream for quali until early this morning and you cannot even watch it until tomorrow. WB/Discovery and the UCI have just decided that they don't really care about this sport or it's fans or riders really. I really really miss Redbull. Wish they never sold it.
@@aaavellone they didnt sell it, if I'm right RedBull lost the contract, or it wasn't renewed. But I also miss RedBull... It was so good watching it for free, now I can't even watch the semis. I'm really angry about all of this shit.

Not even going to watch this poor excuse of a highlight. Will spend my time watching highlights from people who care avout the sport. Mainly the riders and people like pinkbike. Will also cancel my subscription to discovery+ if this continues. 😤

What the hell was that! I thought moving semi's to Saturday was a great idea, but no mention anywhere that you were not going to stream it! Last year we watched around 130 elite runs in one day this year we get 40 in a whole weekend. Way to destroy our sport!

So last year the semi final broadcast didn't really take off, so now they decide to go super low budget? Not even a produced highlight, just putting 2 people with cameras to the track with no commentary?
That's not going to cut it. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt last year, but this is just a sad showing. Might just as well let Pinkbike and other media outlets film the semis, they'll come out with something at least as good as this.
Vital MTB did almost the same Video, just that this one is about the Semi-Finals and the other was practise runs.

I wasn't as disappointed as most people with your coverage last year but the fact that the semi final runs were filmed but not broadcasted is ridiculous.
No semi coverage, no advance notice = complete crap. There are too many talented, professional racers who rely on coverage for their livelihoods, not to mention millions of disappointed fans. Hope you can get it together and do this right. Get rid of semis, or cover them. Or better yet make it an LCQ and cover that.

If Discovery wants more money from me, let them go back to streaming the DH semi-finals live. I don't even mention enduro - you guys didn't keep your promise from two years ago and I don't expect that to change.

Great… a crappy highlighs video of which we,ve seen better ones of all the real fan channels already (pinkbike, vital, moimoi, etc…). Why is the quali and semi not live streamed? I openen 7 euro/month D+ account to see the livestreams and only get the finals? Thats a rip-off! Covering only the finals with crap comments on “who will be the fastest Pierron brother to the dinner table again…” is not what we are paying for!
Steam at least the semis and finals and get Rob back on the comments! RedBull please take it back over again… these idiots are killing the sport…

There's two or three other outlets who provide the footage more consistently and better quality. You need to up your game and stop ripping off a tried and true format. Weak.

Sorry, what's this supposed to be? Vital had raw footage up yesterday. Am I supposed to listen to the crowd to know who people are, or try and catch their number and look up whether they qualified or not? No film or news of BK's off? You've had a year to get your act together, just admit you can't do it and walk away from the sport.

This level of "coverage" is an embarrassment, and this is all we get even if we've paid subscriptions to Discovery or whoever. You're destroying fan interest in DH racing. Please, somebody set up a rival race series with decent coverage amd less corporate bullshit
Industry stakeholders… start putting pressure on the UCI and WB/Discovery to improve the coverage. Bike companies, tyre brands, clothing brands, goggles and eyewear etc… everyone who puts a fortune into DH teams. The majority of those riders/teams/brands won’t attract any eyeballs on the reduced coverage this year…..

Well, a few European countries have Discovery+ coverage, all others can‘t even pay to watch it with a VPN since they check your Paypal or Credit Card to see where you from. As a Swiss (where UCI has it‘s headquarters) you can‘t watch it even if you are happy to pay for it.
I feel so sorry for the athletes for being sold out by a huge company for their own profit.

Just playing devils advocate here, as i was desperately looking for the li ks yo watch yesterday also .... but ..
It WAS advertised that the elite and juniors qualification and semi finals would be streamed live yesterday for free on the UCI MTB World Series website, however the site was down from just before the start of the planned stream and is still down. So I'm not sure what happened but it was definitely supposed to be streamed live, but there was possibly some technical issues that caused it not to be streamed. Again, I was desperate to watch it too so not making excuses for them.
If there’s no Saturday coverage at the next round my discovery subscription is getting cancelled.
Wow... this coverage is really disappointing.
I used to love watching the whole weekend including quali semi’ etc now can’t watch anything live surely they are not racing at 6pm on Monday? When everyone has to be at work the next day. It difficult to find out what’s on and when. It’s a right shambles. How are they planning on bringing new viewers into the sport if hardcore fans struggle to find or watch it.

Instead of uploading a consolation prize of a video like this you just need to COMMUNICATE why semis weren't broadcast. Put a social post together, hit send. Based on the generic corporate communication thus far, I'm assuming it's not quite that simple but remember this is MOUNTAIN BIKING. Canned corporate communication/lackthereof is derided by all types of demographics but especially this one.

Complete rip off, we pay for the coverage and all you provide is Finals not Semi finals. You are killing the sport. The sponsors wont support the riders if they cant get exposure this is just horrendous. Sort it ot seriously.

Coverage is non existent. I fail to understand how a company can get it so wrong. They clearly have absolutely ZERO idea what the fans want. I couldn't believe there was no live stream for the qualifying or semi final runs!! Whoever is running your promo team needs sacking. I paid money for a subscription that's utterly crap!!!! Yet when I go onto the Discovery+ App there is screeds and screeds of road racing. I have to scroll through all that to get to the downhill stuff. It's literally like your actively trying to kill the sport!!

DH is the greatest sport on the planet but the organisers are seemingly trying their best to kill it for the true fans.
A backward step last year replacing Rob Warner and Elliot Jackson.
Another step backwards this year as there is less live coverage.
Less exposure will inevitably mean less marketing budget, fewer teams and fewer riders. Is this why you’re not streaming semis this year? So that you can reduce the number of teams and riders?
When will all of you learn not to trust UCI. They are only out for money. The riders don't even like UCI. I hope they broadcast the finals, but i won't pay for it.
