Dan is totally right when he says that the brain will act on your thought instantly. There's so much evidence now that the messages sent via neuropeptides in the brain to cells throughout the body happens in milliseconds. It's observable on MRI scan. So if the messages you send are negative, those are going to every cell in the body. It's so not easy to be 'positive' when you're in pain and scared and anxious. But it is possible to be aware of what you allow yourself to think. If you catch yourself in a negative spiral, take some deep breaths, breathe into your belly. Start over.

Never thought of it hitting every cell instantly. Maybe this will help me. Thanks

@@1STBUCKLEY It's a physiological fact. Mind/thought to brain, brain activates chemicals, chemicals to cells at a quantum speed, literally. Your thoughts aren't the result of your symptoms, your symptoms are the result of your thoughts. As Dan says the projector and the screen.

Negative thoughts only have power if we react to them...... ❤
I have found the same applies with pains / sensations / symptoms in the body... The more focus/fear we feed into them - the more they persist and grow.... ❤
    Self-love
    Self-care
    Self-compassion
    Self-respect
    Self-worth
    Self-esteem

Exactly! Thoughts are like hearbeats , you can stop them but you can react differently to them , of course not every time is possible, sometimes we are vulnerable and we get scared

Birds & water instantly bring on a sense of peace & your words go straight in. The way I see it is negative thoughts only persist because in the past when we were lost, there was fear & misinformation taken on board as truth...add in the belief "they are real"...and this becomes a habit & something we identify with..."I am those thoughts"...this is NOT true. Meditation has helped me to have some "distance" from these thoughts & "see" them for what they are...just thoughts. It's a process!!Loving blessings to all❤

My negative thoughts often take the form of other people having conversations about me in the future. I.e. 'She never got better.' I decided to time how long it took for my brain to produce a negative thought - 4 minutes and 51 seconds. I heard a weird buzzing noise and immediately thought it was coming from my head, tinnitus style. It turned out to be iron I'd just plugged in!

Needed this this morning. Had a couple stressful situations last night. Woke at 3am feeling anxious. Nauseated this morning. Started that "what's wrong with me?' spiral loop....Husband nudged me back to the truth. The thing that stood out to me in this video was "what if your thoughts aren't even true?" That is something I have noticed I need reminding of....maybe I'm not as right or smart or clever as I think..diagnosing myself or analyzing situations or reading between the lines.... if my brain is stuck in danger then everything is filtered through that and skewed. And I know this. I am very familiar with mind body/limbic system approach. And I still get sidetracked....it's a journey❤ thank you Dan. Don't ever stop reminding us❤

I tend to ruminate on these thoughts and sensations. My husband is getting worn down by my constant talking about it. It has become an obsession and habit. I really want to learn, to just let this stuff pass by. I know 99% of this stuff in my mind is false. My logical brain knows this, but the ego part of my brain keeps it going. It's challenging for sure.

Didn't even get out the door before fight and flight hihacked me. Drained. I did get out, drove to church, on route serious sensations in left arm, then stuck in traffic, I was a nervous wreck before I'd arrived . I managed to stay and then visited the park. Left home in a storm, now the suns out. Hot and cold, mixed bag like my thoughts

I am feeling so so down with depression and anxiety. Such a lonely place to be with no family and no job and not seen my youngest son for several years and its looking permanent. Cant think of many reasons to go on to be honest. Feel too depressed and anxious and too old at 60 to imagine a new or different like now. Friends all given up on me. Life is really sh*t and cannot beleive how things have changed so badly in 5 years. I had hope and looked forward back then and now i don't. I feel very sad.

I have so many body symptoms now and stuck in the flight flight freeze state for 5 years and at 60 years old not sure if all the damage to body is reversible now as such a long time of sickness on my own. Can barely get out of bed let alone get a job. My limbic system is almost shut down and I'm terrified. Thank you for replying though, very kind.
