Similar to Take a Bow, Open Your Heart was released in the weeks leading to Christmas and the top 20 was filled with Christmas songs, popular in the Uk. It was also a dance song released in a festive period. If the record company had released it in January it would have charted higher.
Take A Bow, which stayed for 7 weeks in Billboard's Hot 100 or 200, was not that popular in UK.

What happened to Burning up & Live to Tell. Didn't they chart in UK😂
Everybody and Burning Up where the early singles released by Madonna, they did not chart in the Uk, Holiday, the 3rd single was her breakthrough hit song. Live To Tell went to Number 2 in the Uk.

It's weird, Dont Cry For Me Argentina wasnt Nr1....
She was still coming off the backlash of the Erotica album, films etc. After Something to Remember Album, she slowly started to get popular again, then Evita was a hit film and she did well getting to Number 3, it was in the charts for months and had additional success with the remix version.

She had left her contract with Warner Brothers by now, revolver was a Greatest Hits track, it got remixes but no video or promotion, hence the low chart position.
