📹 Vlog: Watch the painting process - • "Graceful Balance" - A... (Duration: Approx. 7:51 mins)
    Happy Weekend, Everyone! 🌟
Did you know? Avocets have long, thin, upturned beaks that are perfectly adapted for feeding in shallow waters and mudflats. They use their beaks to:
    • Skim the water's surface to catch small invertebrates
    • Rummage through mud and sand to find small crustaceans
    • Grab insects out of the air
A photograph by Paul Hawkyard inspired this painting. It's always enjoyable to work on simpler subjects like this. I had to be careful with intricate details like the curvature of the beak, the small eyes, and the white patches around them, but once those were done, the rest was a breeze. Maintaining the contrast between the white and dark feathers was crucial for this piece. My experience with painting white subjects came in handy. The knee joint in the leg turned out a little stouter than the reference, but I think I can get away with it (don’t tell anyone 😊). Overall, I had a great time putting this together.

It was great watching the process as always. One request is i want to see your color pallete and your way of mixing and using the color mixes in the video if possible. I know this is big thing to ask but it will help beginner artists like me to learn about color mixing styles also.

@ramlal3d Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to watch the video! I’m glad you enjoyed it. Your request is a great idea-I understand how crucial color mixing is for any artist. For sometime now, i had been thinking of making some short videos of the pencil, paper & paints i use, I’ll make sure to include a segment on my color palette and mixing techniques as well. I’m happy to share tips that could help fellow artists on their journey, being able to do those videos has been the challenge. This is a motivation to do that.
Stay tuned, and keep creating! 😊🎨
