In Ontario, I also highly recommend visiting beautiful Merrickville (on Rideau Canal and river), and Bayfield (along with neighbouring Goderich), if you like beautiful quaint Elora. You won't regret it! BTW great video.
Although Elora is gorgeous... My fav place as a non Ontarian is NOL. it's a must for me at least once a year. Haven't been since covid. Rented a bike in Niagara on the lake and biked the Parkway to Niagara Falls then toke bus back. Many many winery stops.
Wow so glad you included us on your travels with you and Danny i love to see all the great places I can put on my list of must sees you too are t he best I love you guys and your travels ❤ must tell you having a great cocktail 🍸 in your honor my friend
Yes Elora is beautiful. My cousins live there and I visit from Scotland every two years. Have seen it in all weather's, it is beautiful in winter also., 🏴
I can't believe it! This video brings back so many memories from when I was a child living in Kitchener Ontario. I commuted daily to St.John's Private School for Grades 5 & 6 in Elora in 1972 and 1973. (Now you know how old I am). The schoolhouse became a clothing factory 18 years later and looking at your video, it could be a restaurant or craft brewery today. We used to walk to the church via the cenotaph that used to be filled with water now with dirt. I remember because we would run through putting only one shoe into the water in hopes the displacement would make it so our shoes didn't get wet. Some kids failed and walked to the church with one soaked foot. We had choir practice almost everyday at the church and recorded a record (vinyl) one year. Still have it. Our sports program was in a park across the bridge of the "gorgeous" gorge and some kids would kick the soccer ball (football) or rugby ball into the gorge in order to skip class because he had to retrieve it which took most of class time. Thank you for taking me down memory lane as I moved to Kelowna, British Columbia in 1974 and only returned once to show my girlfriend (now wife) where I came from. Elora was a definite highlight of my life although it has changed a lot. (For the better, I see).
Hi Rebecca, I agree that Elora is quite the charming little town. Nearby St. Jacob's is very quaint too. But in my opinion, Niagara-on-the-Lake takes the top prize as Canada's prettiest town. Have you been there?
I have! I LOVE Niagara-on-the-Lake! I have been twice this summer. I am especially drawn to it because I am a wine lover too. My favourite thing to do is cycle to a few wineries and enjoy some wine tastings! I haven't been to St. Jacob's. Are there nice places to eat there?
@@RebeccaFelgateOfficial all your RUclips fans might appreciate a snapshot of N-O-T-L. I'd recommend close to Christmas, as they have horse-drawn carriages and sleigh rides once the snow falls. Very picturesque, given the Victorian character of the town. I have to admit that I'm somewhat biased since I'm a native of the Niagara Region, having grown up in St. Catharines, just a few miles away from N-O-T-L.
A great place to visit is Paris Ontario. You will feel like you have gone back in time. There is a main street full of unique stores and restaurants. I wish I could go live there and its right beside the river with scenic views from nice balconies
Beyond overjoyed to have found this channel. I live in Ottawa/Canada and I've never even heard of Elora, now I will definitely be visiting their in the summer! I've had the lodestar beer before and it is delicious! Thank you so much for touring around Canada and finding such beautiful places 😁
Great video as always. I thought the music choices during this video were perfect! What beautiful places you guys go to! For what it’s worth I like bananas that are still green even though you don’t get the sweetness to them.
Thanks Mike! I went a bit wild with the jazz and animal sounds, but like..... if you can't have light monkey screeching sounds over dinner, when can you?!
Very nice video to escape away from the craziness of the going ons in my country right now! I am taking notes of places to visit once the pandemic is over and we yanks are allowed to visit again :-)
If you do go back , try floating down the gorge in an inner tube or swimming in the old abandoned rock quarry. My friends and I used to jump from the cliffs there in the 70s. But that is now prohibited. Also , every summer Fergus hosts the Highland Games. Lots of fun and lots of beer. Cheers 🍺🍺
Rebecca Felgate wow my Favourite Color is yellow too I love Color yellow so so so so much and nices picture of your self is awesome and so sweet and nices all at ones yellow is Beautiful Color yellow twins go yellow club yes
Lol, luv his theory on the gorge, which would be plausible except that glaciers covered this area less than 12,000 years ago. The grand canyon was never covered by a glacier to our knowledge so the natural erosion by the river is the accepted cause. The great lakes themselves were formed out of the retreating glaciers. The Gorge, I believe is part of the escarpment which extends from Georgian Bay all the way to where the Niagara River passes over the falls. Love your videos.
Hello. Lovely video, amazing scenery. Pls can u tell me the title and composers of the instrumental u used when showing ur breakfast and also the title and composer of the instrumental u used when showing the yellow bicycle and walking in the sunflower farm..😊
Someone has probably already commented on this but you should check out the Eloras Riverfest this summer if we are allowed to have such festivals again. It usually happens sometime mid August and is a weekend-long musical ectravaganza with amazing food and music and it happens along the banks of the Grand River.

I’ve been to the Elora Mill restaurant many times, it’s great. Their electricity actually comes from a waterfall generator.
