I have and enjoy both of these. I do actually use the provided brushes to apply them rather than my fingers. I deffo find the touch has a lot more coverage than the tint. I was a bit disappointed with the tint when I first applied it but then by magic within 3 mins it just transformed into a beautiful veil of cover that I really love. The older I'm getting, the less heavy coverage I'm using. I'm 54 with oily skin and they both look beautiful. Neither of them emphasis lines or wrinkles and have never caked up on me.
This is the most thorough review of both products and I’ve been review searching for a while now. Thank you I love the touch but wanted to try the tint for vacation..I can’t go ‘bare’ so I need ‘something’.
I found your channel when searching for reviews of the Chanel water fresh tint reviews. Great job on the review (also watched the review you did several days ago comparing the Iredale -> Chanel -> Loreal tints). I've subscribed and have enjoyed watching some of your other videos. Your skin is flawless. Blessings. Vicky
What timing! Last night I pulled out both of the water fresh foundations for today. I've been staring at them trying to decide what to use LOL Thank you! EDIT: Wore both! Tint everywhere because the Touch is a tad dry on me for all over and Touch under the eyes and dabbed on my red areas. That combo did great.
Thank you very much for the very helpful video! I was unsure which product to buy and after your video I decided on the Water Tint. I also liked your lovely style so much that I subscribed ♥️
I have the Water Fresh Tint and I love it. I've been using the little brush that came with it but after watching your video today I used my hands. I thought the coverage was a lot better, maybe because there was no brush to absorb the product. It went into the nooks and crannies better with my hand. (No I'm not an English Muffin, LOL). I'm curious to try the Touch now. Thanks for all your great videos Mandy!
I appreciate the demo and I really like the looks of the Tint itself because of the water base. I don’t really use Chanel products but if it’s similar to the Jane Iredale, which would be your first choice between these two?
I just recently purchased the Touch and I love it. I usually go for light to medium coverage so it was perfect for me. I’m curious to try the Tint, but man, at $70 a pop, finally getting the Touch was a splurge. It’s a good thing I don’t wear foundation very often anyway.
Tbh the water fresh tint just looked better during the finished product - like after you finished your makeup. I can’t explain why. You just looked dewier and fresher and when you said you used the exact same products following both applications - I mean then I knew - the water fresh tint is the winner ❤
Mandy, I bought the Touch. All that I had on was my vitamin c serum and moisturizer. I used my fingers to apply and it was a hot mess. It peeled up all over my face. I was so upset. I ended up giving it to a co worker. I do have dry skin. Could this be why? What moisturizer did you use? Thank you so much for doing this video! 👑🙏❤️
I have used different moisturizers and spfs under it, and I haven't had that happen. Did you wait any time in between skincare and applying or go straight in?
The touch is 60% water. I got the water fresh tint when it came out in 2019? But I got the wrong shade so I don't think I liked it as much. I did like the touch but it is definitely more coverage and does not dry down. So I would like it to dry down more and not be so tacky. It is nice. But since getting a better shade in the water fresh tint I am now liking that more than the touch. The touch does make a very good concealer! The new sublimage concealer, as I did not realize before purchasing is full coverage and very opaque! You could even cover your whole face with that concealer in lu of foundation!!! I am older and prefer to have lighter coverage and for my skin to peek through otherwise I think that full coverage does not look as flattering on my aging skin.
I’m late to the game but I’m just now looking into both of these products 😆 I’m wondering how they would do mixed together as that perfect in between coverage. Have you tried that? I’d love to know! ❤
@@MandyDavisMUA You’re amazing, TYSM! After watching this now I’m also interested in the Jane Iredale one 😅 I read in the comments that if you had to choose you would pick the Jane one but I wanted to ask, which one do you think has the best longevity? I’ve really been enjoying your videos too! Thanks again! 😽
wonderful comparison! Your make up in both turned out beautiful . Your lip color is perfection ! You linked "spiced peach" to the Jane iredale, however it looks more like summer peach? Or is it just the lighting and on the computer? Your lips appear a very glossy nude/pink/beige look(my favorite look) Thanks
I totally agree, I love this lip gloss on her too, but when I looked online Spiced Peach looked much more coral and Summer Peach looked exactly like her lips in the video.
This video is exactly what I was looking for. I knew about the tint but wasn't aware of the Touch until last night. I remember the tint coming out before but st that time didn't think I could pull off something that sheer. Now tho I feel I'd like it. But seeing the touch wasn't sure if I should go with that? But after watching your video (and some others) I'm thinking the tint would be prettier. I might get a sample tho of the touch while there too.
Hi! What did you put on your eyelids, I love the color❤, but in the description you said it is the face palette from Jane iredale, so I am confused… can you tell me what you have exactly on the eyelids?? Thx 😊
Do you think combo/oily skin can use the water fresh tint? Would a silicone primer be okay under? What setting powder for controlling oil but not changing finish? I'm trying to find a very natural foundation that won't accentuate dry spots but not make me more oily. I just need light coverage With maybe a spot concealer here and there. Which I need a good concealer for my skin type, too! I don't like to look like I'm wearing makeup. I typically wear Alima Pure Satin Matte but I am sick of it. Every liquid I try looks too much like makeup. Any help appreciated!
I wouldn't use a silicone primer underneath...being water based, they won't mix well in my opinion. If you are able to get a sample of this at a counter, I would definitely give it a try. It is super moisturizing, so you would definitely need to set. Most oil controlling powders will take some of the luminosity away...that's just part of using that type of powder unfortunately.
Interesting..I am wondering why this is the description of the product and the video on the Chanel website shows the model applying all over her face? 🤔"A first-of-its-kind versatile makeup product infused with ultra-concentrated micro-droplet pigments. The medium-coverage formula offers customizable application: Conceal specific areas or apply all over. For a flawless, incredibly natural-looking finish." It is marketed for all over or wherever you need more coverage.
The point of these products is not to "layer" and result in flawless skin, its to enhance and allow natural blemishes to show through and still look natural and fabulous. I think this is an American concept of flawless, certainly not European or Asian. Try using less and you will see the difference and how fabulous it looks.
Which is why I said once I tried it, I found you don't need to layer, and that I like the lighter version better since it looks less like makeup. The point of makeup is to use it how you want to...that's the beauty of it. Have a great day.
For me it is, but I have learned that even when a label says something is, it can still cause breakouts in certain people. I always recommend going over the ingredients on a site like incidecoder.com
I'd like to offer a different perspective on the use of the lighter water fresh tint as I have been using it full time since 2018. Your demo was so wasteful that people might be put off by its cost. One bottle has lasted me several years. I use the little brush that it comes with and one pump. I mix it on a palette and the single pump covers the T zone of my face completely, which is where I need the coverage. And it does provide coverage. I think it's wonderfully hydrating on my 63-year-old skin and well worth the price as I buy mostly drugstore products.
I am so glad these are the results you get, and thank you for sharing your thoughts. One pump in no way covers the redness that I have but it is great that you are able to stretch it as far as you do.
It applies to the face flawlessly and is SUPER lightweight. I can layer and layer and it never feels heavy. I love the tint to it because it's just enough to even out without looking like makeup. And it has ingredients in it to help with existing sun damage as well as providing the sun protection.
Great video! I have the Water Fresh Tint and love it. For more coverage I mix in a little of no. 1 de Chanel. That combo is glorious!
Hmm I have these two but never thought to mix them, I will definitely try it. Thanks!
I'll have to try that...thanks!

It does! Very plumping.
I love the tint as a base - then the JI PurePressed Base over it- spritz with the Pommist Hydration Spray = perfection

I used this Chanel foundation. I found a less expensive version L’Oreal True Match works the same or better and it’s also buildable.
Interesting. I have the true match as well, but the finish, coverage and wear are completely different on my skin.
Thank you for this review. I have been wanting to buy both of these but I didn't know if I'd just be wasting money.

Hi Mandy.
Excellent review.
How much wear time do you get on each product?
Thank you! They all wear really wear on me all day. I didn't have any issues with patching off or fading away with any of them throughout the day.
I have melasma and broken capillaries so I think the touch may be the better choice for me to try

Yes, it is that palette. It contains four eyeshadows as well, and I often use blush and highlight shades on my eyes.
You have the most beautiful skin.
Thank you so much!

SPF always come as the last step in your skincare routine. So as your moisturizer or after.

How do they compare to the Jane Iredale Tinted Serum?
I cover that in the video. 😉
Hello Mandy! What shade is this?
Hi there! I mention it in the video, and it is listed in the description box. ❤️
Which color did you use? Medium only or medium light?
I mention in the video at 1:40 😉 Medium
The complexion touch is a concealer, not a foundation! 😊

I like the first one better. It looks like you’re wearing make up on the second one.
I mix both 😊❤️
How would you compare these 2 to the #1?
The #1 is more of a "foundation" than these two...more coverage.
@@MandyDavisMUA I have been wanting to try #1 on my 69 years young skin for special occasions. Daily I like Australian Gold.
Have you mixed the 2 together?
Surprisingly, I haven't. I will try that soon.
