    You explain wonderfully through step by step .please explain the transient heat conduction for cooling, of material is quenched and also determine temperature variations, stress at increment of one second.

    simple and excellent.... but I want to ask how did you ensure that other faces are thermally insulated though you have not assigned any boundary condition on these surfaces.

      +abhishek kumar If you don't define any boundary condition on faces. Abaqus take it as fully insulated surface i.e no heat loss through face.

    Thank you sir. This was really helpful. I am trying to model spalling behaviour of concrete in fire using Abaqus.
    When I am modeling, I use Abaqus/Standard and Heat transfer step to create thermal load. I need to delete elements from the concrete wall, when element temperature reaches a specific limit(673K). How do I remove these elements in my model?

    how to check the temperature of the plate at the end of the last step ? to make sure it is still at 200 K or at least around it ?

    Thanks for the video and information! I have a question, though. I'm having a hard time trying to find out how to do this same simulation with a three-layered box. (ex. large box, with a medium box inside of it, with a small box inside of that..) Could you please explain how I could model this? Thanks so much in advance!

    So Abaqus assumes any surface that does not have anything to be perfectly insulated. That's a relief. It would have been awful to set something to every surface.
