Just found this video and it was very good and concise for such a simple installation, wish more tutorials were like that haha Thanks Ryan! Wish there was a headband portion of the tutorial.
Great video, thanks for posting it. The other video that I found shows someone quite easily taking the pads, including the gaskets, in one piece. In my case it was absolutely impossible, as the foam was coming apart. Managed to to it easily by following your instructions!
Use the angled end of the tool to gently tuck the oval dust screen UNDER the snap ring on the replacement ear pads before you install it. The headband is easily replaced by extending the headband out to the limit. Pop one headband clip on the inside end out with tool, carefull not to move the adjustments while replacing new head pad or you will lose the adjustment spring. Slide out old head pad by curling it as you remove it. Install new one in reverse order. Replace retention clip with tool.
If you peel off the micro-thin leatherette that is designed to disintegrate (so that you will buy replacements), underneath is velour that works fine and lasts a lot longer. I bought velour replacement pads and they are identical to the original pads with the leatherette peeled off. You can easily remove the dishonest leatherette, using a nylon brush.
thank you, i too was a little skeptical about the extra foam 1mm pad that comes in the package, i dont think ill put it on, the original headphones was shipped without. by the way, did you try it to put it on? did it work? sounded better?
There actually are several videos on how to replace the earpads for the HD380s on RUclips. You're not supposed to rip the foam from the gaskets, they come off all in one piece if you do it right. However, I guess it really doesn't matter if you're throwing them away anyway. ruclips.net/video/DFOJyqB9xxg/видео.html

You saved my bacon! thanks so much dude! Never realised about those gasket/trim/washer rings.
Glad I found this. Had the same issue. The original doesn't ship with foam so I never put it in.
thank you so much for this video Ryan. Just what I needed
Brilliant! Thank you!

Very helpful and a damn sight shorter than some of the other attempts out there :) Thanks!
Good work. The replacement earpads arrive with no instructions.
thank you! 😁

excellent, pity I'd eventually worked it out beforehand, this would have saved some time, those gasket spacers were the problem. Cheers.
good sound insulation with these ear pads?
