THANK YOU!! finally someone slowed down and actually showed how to wrap the hair around the rubber band and braid it
Ivy Davenport I’m so glad I was able to help 😍😍
Def agree she showed it perfectly
I have never seen a white girl look so good in braids 😩 you are gorgeous.
I agree
She doesnt look "white" to me.. You mean light skinned. Looks ethnic
Probably cause she's beautiful to begin with but you're right not everyone can pull them off
I thought she was latina either way she looks good in em
She's not white or Latino. She's native
I absolutely love how no one hatin on ha I’m the comments
Aliah Hernandez - right girl, me too! 💕 all love & positivity
I hate how no one isn’t hating this... you’re ignorant if you think it’s ok
@Ratikant Sharma here u go agn 🙄
@Ratikant Sharma u ugly asf
@Ratikant Sharma when?
See, this actually looks good. She doesn't look like a hot mess and made sure the type of braids she did fit her face.
i'll give her props she knows what she doin styll...
aw thank you 💕
Well when you try hard enough to copy something for long enough you get the hang of things, but you still can't compare to the real deal. 😊
Alie
Mjstc lol get over yourself it’s just hair
@@cheesytacos9531 It really isn't. It's culture, besides its not good for people with her hair type anyway. Causes breakage and pulls at the scalp too tight. Plus they won't hold for long. So really you need to mind yours honey, and stay in your lane. 😂
I’ve looked at so many videos trying to understand the crisscross method and I finally got it just by watching yours thank you
Kelly Nelly I’m so glad I was able to help 💗
Same
next time, to avoid flyways i recommend to put edge control at the end of your natural hair so it won’t stick out .
julz - thank you!
I always try to put myself in the shoes of others no matter what situation I’m looking at. I am 100% aware of the fact that these hairstyles have a rich meaning/ history for your culture. I’m also aware of the fact that little girls would be kicked out of their schools for wearing braids and women/ men attacked endlessly for their natural hair, which is disgusting. I also agree that the people that are using this hairstyle as a trend and not acknowledging where it came from, or the pain that is behind it is wrong. However, the kids that are growing up in this generation we’re not apart of that pain, weather were talking about White, Latino, Indian, etc. My niece is Cuban, her baby hairs go crazy if she doesn’t lay them down. She got told by an African-American girl in her class that she’s not allowed to wear her hair like that, which since she was aware of the history she felt she needed to apologize and she scared to wear it like that again. Prior to me laying them down for the first time I informed her doing this hairstyle is a part of African-American culture and you have to respect and acknowledge it’s not just a trend. I see a lot of women from your culture feel that whether it’s white kids or teenagers doing their hair this way that they’re trying to steal something from your culture by wearing a hairstyle, but from my point of you I think it’s more of seeing the beauty in it. They’re not doing their hair like this to steal from you, these little girls are growing up in a generation where this is what’s popular they don’t have hate in their heart, or have the intention of stealing your culture, they see the beauty in your culture and they want to use inspiration from that. The other day I watched a video on an African-American woman horribly attacking a 13-year-old because she laid her edges and she was white.. she wasn’t just speaking out about her feelings on the matter she went out of her way to attack a child in a very nasty way, this is the hate and division I’m talking about... that was just a kid that’s growing up in a time that this is what’s popular, when she does this hairstyle she doesn’t have hate in her heart or wanting to cause pain to others, she thinks it’s beautiful. I wish that your culture could try to see that the people in this new generation weren’t the people that caused pain!!! They’re the people that are growing up to understanding your culture and even looking up to your culture, that I feel that should be celebrated, not attacked. Anyways this reminds me of when I traveled to India, I was so welcomed into their culture with open arms. I was welcomed into wearing beaded items and celebrating unique fashion. I wasn’t attacked for wearing their cultural items. I was even given a Lace Salwar kameez by an Indian women and was told to bring it home to America with me to show the beauty of their style.. Indians in America have been to attacked with racism as well (not on the same level as African Americans of course), but instead of attacking white people that try to understand their culture and aren’t there to do them harm, they welcome them to learn and to see the beauty in it. I think that’s beautiful and I think we can learn from that.
That’s way too much words over braids xd but yea I think it’s stupid that people are bringing slavery and racism into hair and blaming people who wasn’t even alive when it happened is stupid
Like, I came across this one person who said it’s racist for a white person to have curly hair or get a tan they sounded so dum
Such an excuse. Just because the generations now we’re apart of that pain doesn’t make it right or fair. Because the generations now that are black they are living that pain and they weren’t apart of it either. There’s just a boat load of excuses in this comment and it’s like you’re saying hey I understand your pain or struggle but that was then this is now, or you’re comparing the struggles of other races to the struggle of African Americans. Not the same thing.
Wow beautifully said thank you ❤️
All things Kay....EVERY MAN HAS HIS CROSS TO BEAR. God made that very clear. We ALL deal with persecution, trials and tribulations in different ways. That does not however make it okay to act entitled and operate in the spirit of hate and division towards your fellow man for feeling inspired by something that makes them feel beautiful. No matter what that something is. Humble yourself and operate in a spirit of unity. I'm a white woman planning on doing braids and I've heard quite enough of this unnecessary controversy that contributes nothing to the human race.
This is by far the best tutorial I have come across! Now I finally know what the other videos were trying to show me! Thank you!!
yay! that was my biggest thing as well. I watched so many videos & I never understood how to do them properly. so that’s why I wanted to do my best explaining it, I’m so glad it helped 💘
Yaaasssss booo, the 80/20 method I love how you explained it🤗🤗
Piper Amore - I’m glad it was helpful 🤞🏼💕
She look really good in box braids it really suits her 😊
Bc they make her look a bit exotic/mixed.
@@perfectfae3534 right 😊
Girl when you explained it I gasped no one has ever and I mean ever explained it that good..btw I just subbed much love for you🥺💙
You don’t understand how much I love you for this😫
thank you so much for the love & support, that means so much to me! so happy I was able to help 💘
I’ve watched soooo many videos and your the only one that explained and showed how to start box braids... thank you
you’re welcome 💘
My friend and I have watched tons and 5ins of videos on braids when she was first trying to do them herself and I can't recall any that showed and explained the detail of what she was doing with her hands as well as she did in this video. Lots of other vids it was hard to see or was to fast or just wasn't explained right. Good job hun!!! Looks beautiful!
This looks really cute on you!😍
Girl your so pretty and those braids are poppin on you❤️
aw thanks luv 🤍
Im so tempted to get some 🙈 they look so good on you girl.
Mia Blush do them girl, they’re very easy to do! just time consuming
Everyone should rock braids at some point it feels so good ♡
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE AM0UNT OF LOVE BEING SHOWN IN THIS COMMENT SECTION 💙💜💚 You by far explained this better then any other video I have ever watched and you look amazing! Thank you soo much girl! Keep killing it! 💯
Wow, this looks so good, for how many weeks did you keep them ? Aren’t the rubber bands damaging the hair by suffocating it ? Can you wash them too ?
I want them 😍 I’ve straight hair but I’m bored with my hair already, I want to try this braids, they look such beautiful 😻, you look gorgeous!
You are sooo good at explaining how to do box braids!!! I followed along with u and my box braid look looks sooo fricken amazing❤ thanks
yaasss that makes me happy I’m glad this video helped 💘
Yesss so glad I found your video been wanting to do these braid's for a while, when I was little my mom would do these on me ,can't wait to do these on myself. Wondering once you tie your ends with a rubber band then dip into the boiling water if the band breaks will the whole braid come undone. My mom never dip my ends so this is new to me.
Annette Aleman - you dip the braids in boiling water so that the braid doesn’t come undone. you don’t have to tie the ends if you’re gonna dip them but if not I would tie them
My daughter has been begging me for box braids as a gift for her birthday. I had planned for her to have them done the weekend after that as a surprise then BOOM! Coronavirus shut everything down. Including her getting box braids! I've been watching tutorials and looking at different hair colors for a while now but have remained confused about a few things. She's been trying to help me understand ( poor kid ) i had zero confidence in myself and I did not buy the hair until a few minutes ago. Right. After. I. Watched. Your. Video!! You saved us both girl!!
Thank you so much 💓
Danielle Nesmith - this brought a smile to my face! I’m so happy I was able to ‘teach’ you better than some bc I too was confused watching other videos. so being that I was able to do that for you makes me happy! I hope they come out great, happy birthday to your daughter as well 💘
SHES WHITE THO
i bet she look stupid as hell with them braids in her head🤣🤣
It's 2022 and we are still hung up on who can wear braids?? That's like saying how dare you like and eat corn and beans and tortillas, when my ancestors survived on that food...like let's take a breather here and allow anyone to express themselves! Oh and by the way if we all did an ancestry kit it would prove we all have at least some percentage of African in us!!!! Like seriously stop separating and drawing lines and learn to incorporate and appreciate. If y'all have anything to say, IDC!!this is my view and I stand behind every word!! So just stop!!
You’re absolutely right❤
Omg finally a person that legit taught me how to braid thank youuuuuu
yes girl thank you 🤍
Let's pray this video doesn't go viral because you already know what's gonna go down 🙄🙄
Love the hairstyle, btw.
Fourth Love - thank you! 💗 but what does that mean?
@@LenaLove It's more of a cultural thing. I myself have no issue and absolutely adore when other people get braids and hairstyles because I know it is out of admiration and appreciation; however, other people on RUclips do not seem to get that and automatically label it as “cultural appropriation”. Luckily, this kind of stuff only happens on the internet where it's easy to be brave behind a screen, and I hope you don't have to face things as such in real life. 💕👍🏾
oh okay I understand now. I really hope I don’t get hate for it, I love them & when people have them! they’re really beautiful
And that’s pretty sad. People are hateful for the sake of being hateful. Hairstyle don’t have race. She should just ignore the ignorance if it shows up here. I already had to speak about a woman’s ignorance, who was ranting and raving about this. Folks are killing each other out of hate. Hair shouldn’t be a reason to hate.
Anastasia Raven that’s very very true!
Im happy I found this video its really helped me & my mom figure out how to do box braids on my hair♥️
gabby hall - that makes me so happy 💓
@@LenaLove that good & I got a question how many packs of hair did u use & how many braids did u get?? if u don't mind me asking
I used about 3-4 packs of hair & got almost 40 braids I believe
How did it look? I’m thinking of doing this myself.
Girl, why don’t you have more subscribers? You’re gorgeous 😍
Lilliana - soon girl soon!! thank you 💕

Thats pretty. I was thinking of wanting to do something like this, but i didnt know how since my hair is what my sister in law calls it " hispanic hair" but now i got an idea to do it. Thank you
I think her hair is Hispanic
I love you for making this video !!! I have watched so many and this now seems so simple . I’m going to do my hair this weekend (:
how did it go? 😍
As black woman ... it’s fine for you to wear braids but you should give credit when taking from another culture. That’s the difference between appropriation and appreciation.
@@onni504 I’m Puerto Rican and will fully 210% continue to wear braids because I can 🤍 much love and respect. No matter what anybody thinks or feels 🤍
@@LenaLove really well girly (: it took like four hours but was so so beautiful. 🤍
@@onni504 just curious do you show yours when you get a sew in weave for straight hair or Brazilian hair ? I mean no disrespect but ma’am I wasn’t asking for permission . You comment kinda came from nowhere and is two months late . Sorry for such a super late reply but God bless you and I hope you had an amazing thanksgiving with your family 🦃🍽🤍
They look so good, i'm going to try it. Thanks

This looks so hard😩 love it!
Desiree Loya it’s not as hard as it seems, it’s actually a lot easier. just really time consuming 😫😫
You are my heroe ❤ you are the only one who explains this so good
I tried my best 😊 I’m glad it helped you!
It came out so nice 😍😍😍
Thank you your hair looks just like mine I've just bought my first bag of hair to do this and was worried it would be hard work .... I've had chemo so I am so ready for long hair again thank uuui

@@LenaLove my hair came today so eeekkk new hair by tomorrow night

I love this! How long did they last?
omg ur baby is soo adorbs..awe
Kelly Marie - thank you 💕
Your hair is so beautiful I love it ❤️❤️💜😍😊😊
♡ yay now it all makes sense thanks lovey ♡
unapologetically me - you’re welcome doll 💘
You are sooo pretty 😭😭😭😭
Looks pretty. You should do other tutorials Ghana cornrows high ponytails next. Please thanks
Being that you have your natural hair in just one leg rather than dividing it up between 2 or 3 legs, does it slip sooner? I'm biracial but my hair is more like caucasian hair. I have found by dividing my natural hair into 2 legs, it's more secure and stays in longer
I loved it so much girl😍😍how many packs of hair did you use ?☺️
Vanessa Juarez - thank you, I used 3-4 ☺️
Did you our rubber bands on the end before you dipped them?
Your soo pretty and these braid look bomb on u
Youre*
thank you luv 💕
Came out great ! How many packets of hair did you use??
Emily Alcaraz I think I used 4 packs!
You did great😍 I did mines for the first time and saved $200 dollars, I did a great job too.
*mine
Coren Powers - yesss girl!! 😍😍
@@mikeyjackson5946 ever heard of a typo? Ok, great day & stay safe😷
Coren Powers oof someone’s triggered
@@mikeyjackson5946 never triggered😂 I asked a question. You seem as if you're taking it too serious. I'm enjoying my weekend before I head back to work monday. Again, I'm staying healthy as I pray for anyone who has covid or has lost a loved one to covid19. So again, STAY SAFE✌
Love it! I've got my hair in boxbraids atm and i've got naturally straight and silky hair. Did you lose hair or did braiding ur straight hair damage your scalp/hairline?
Cyrl Azur - so you will lose hair but it’s bc you haven’t combed your hair since the braids been in. you naturally lose hair on a daily basis, so if it’s just in braids for a week or whatever it’s gonna seem like you have hair loss but it’s not the case.
I wouldn’t say it damaged my scalp or hairline but after a few days my head started itching & I got bumps but I may have been allergic to the hair. If you have hairline damage it’s prob cause you put the braids too tight in that area.
Omg ur so pretty
Thank you so much this helps alot
You make it look soooo simple thank you !!!
It’s easy once you get the hang of it! you’re welcome good luck 💘
Thank you I’ll give you a update
yess plz!
How many braids did you have in all ??btw they look better than most ppl on you 😍
These r cute ♥️
How long did this style last in your hair?
They came out good girl 👌 what lashes are you wearing?
Tati c they’re actually eyelash extensions, I got them in “cat eye volume”
Yess pop out sus, you the second one I haven't seen looking a damn mess
with braids 😭
Juanita McGregor - thank you 😍
I really love itttttt! Ive been wanting to do this for a minute now, but question! How do you do the back side by yourself?
Michelle Calderon - it’s a little bit difficult at first but it’s the same technique as the front you just have to switch the way your hands are positioned.
Thank you! And sorry last question, how many inches did you use for your length?
Yaasss 💞 tengo 5 niños y tengo que hacer el mismo. No tengo tiempo para hacer mi cabello todos los días..especialmente con 2 hijas 😌
omg thanks 💗 i’m definitely going to try this!! how long do you keep them?
saucesoja - I kept them on almost a week bc I went on vacation & I had a lot of sand from swimming in the ocean lol
Wtf......i want to do it by my self and now i undertand....yeachhhh thank youuuuu ❤❤
Ur so pretty!!
Oh Wilson - thank you so much 💘
Do you have to do hair extensions?
I want them cause I recently had to cut my hair super short cause of hair damage and ion like having short hair y’all feel me? And wigs and weaves just aren’t doing it for me I want box braids but I’m scared of people getting offended but I’m about ready to just do what I wanna do 👌🏻
Fasherti X - omg I can so relate to you! I had cut my hair into a pixie cut (hints why my hair is short now) & I hated the way it looked cause it was growing out. I would wear wigs too. I’d say if you wear wigs now go ahead & do it girl cause who fucken cares what people think! I’m gonna do braids again in a couple days
Patricia Whyte - it’s also natives culture to wear braids.
Lena Love not box braids lol
Lena Love yes love braids not box braids
It's you're hair you do what you want, what makes you happy.
Don't worry about some dumb culture bs. If these same women loved their culture so much, why are they not wearing the clothing from their culture? You know from the Motherland.
What do they wear? Made in America, made in China, made in Europe.
Yeah so keep on with you're foolishness, while you wear everything form head to toe, that comes from everywhere else except Africa.
You know the Motherland.
By the way. You're beautiful, and you're hair looks great.
I would have loved to see how u did the back and how u sectioned the hair tbh 😊
Heyy I’m really curious because not very many people answer but how do you do them so there isn’t serious damage or hair loss. N do you not loose a lot of hair because there aren’t very many braids
Heyyy Lmao - so what a lot of people don’t mention about box braids is: you lose hair everyday normally but since your hair is in braids for so long all of that hair that you would NORMALLY lose is in the braids just built up. you don’t lose your hair bc it’s in the braids & it’s damaged. It’s just a normal thing.
You’re so pretttty ❤️
how do you keep them tight because when I do the rubber band method on my straight hair, after a couple of days, they are super loose and don't look good anymore
hey loved you vid! did you experience any damage after taking them out?
Ellie Hemmo - I didn’t experience damage, but it is kinda surprising how much hair comes out. it’s normal, you lose hair everyday & when you have braids it’s kinda just trapped in there. don’t worry about that, the braids didn’t make your hair fall out.
@@LenaLove Thank you for getting back to me! I've been wanting to get braids for the longest time but I'm scared the weight of the extensions will rip my natural hair out since I do intense workouts and usually am super clumsy.
can we do this with yarn
Watching this because I wanna get them done today but I'm so nervous haha
How long the rubberbrand last??
Hi Lena! I hope you see this message about to embark on this journey to braid my white friend’s hair . I personally bought crochet pre braided braids. What I would like to know is when you took your braids down how did you do it without damaging your hair
I took em down without cutting them to ensure I didn’t cut my own hair. I took these down within a few days only bc I was on vacation. I would say less than a week, if you were doing it on your friends hair. Make sure you’re using conditioning products to ensure the breakage is minimal. there will be a lot of fallout due to daily shedding so that’s normal!
good luck luv!!! 🤍😭🤞🏼
Damn I'm in love 😍 😍 😍
I love this video, I have silky 3b, 2c, and 1b hair mixture and it's hard to find videos because I don't have kinky curls but more like silky hair salon curls... I just find it so hard to find other people with my exact hair because it's always either level texture 4 or "dead straight hair" tutorials and I can't seem to fit in neither for box braid tutorials. I feel like I'm ranting here😭😭 but thank you so much for this video!!
And we ha e the same name but yours is with an E, I never heard of anyone else with the same name!! Eek!!!😊😊😊
I hope this helped you ❣️
I don't know what's cuter: Your braids or your baby...
youre so sweet, thank you 💖
U go girl. Did a good job. Cuteeeee....
Gorgeous x
I'm your new subscriber☺❤ and I really love your video ....lots of love from India❤ keep it up
thank you so much 💘
how many packs of hair did u use?
You don't lose more hair when use rubber band methods?
