This tome is my "go to" for relaxation, entertainment and dozing off. Must be a true classic, as I must have listened, in whole or part, hundreds of times since I discovered it about three years ago.
I was intrigued by the use of language; not only the vocabulary, pace and style but the vernacular. Juxtaposition of 1930's era jargon with late 50's to 60's tech was atad confusing. Turning to Wikipedia, I found a publish date of 1959; but to no surprise, found that "Doc" was a child of the previous century, educated before the Great War and his writing came to full bloom between WWI and WWII..
Ahhh....**that's** why and from whence it came!
