With a lot of our smaller rivers running through the urban jungle and suburban sprawl in the west-southwest Chicago area I always love a trip like this. Helps us to forget about our problems for a little while and smallies sure help! Blessings brother

That river is about 20 minutes from my house awesome catch’s the last 4 days I’ve been fishing caught about 15 big smallies fishing has been good!! God bless brother
Dude the Mag Draft is DA BOMB. I had what would have been my PB northern come RIGHT to my canoe as I was retrieving one in the Kzoo River by the Eway where you fished up here last summer, then had one bite off my 40 lb fluro leader 10 min later. Just amazing responses from the fish!
Power poles are awesome!!! I use one for inshore fishing. If u can’t stand ur rods up , the power pole is going to catch on over hanging tree limbs. I think a drag chain would work a lil better. God bless !!!

What a beautiful float. Not a lot of fish, but some overall decent quality. Really glad to see that your more comfortable with the bait casters now. You have more than doubled your available arsenal. Depending on the river, I would probably increase to 4 rods, 2 SR and 2BC. I did notice that you didn't have a net with you this time.🤔🤔
I’m very please with my power pole micro. It can get in the way with overhead trees, but a lot of places you can pole down halfway to get under them. Totally worth the money, super reliable.
I really need to get myself a kayak. There's a lot of creeks and rivers here in Oklahoma but it's hard to wade them because they run through private property. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Just got off my local creek. First catching a large mouth/rock bass(red eye) hybrid. Was a very cool looking fish in a creek I’ve been in all my life never seen that hybrid before.

Beautiful float and nice catches. Have you fished Caney Fork, particularly next to I65? I've been thinking about it. My Mom lives in Crossville and I live close to Beaver dam, KY. It's a pretty nice place to stop along the trip. Keep bringing the vids! Oh, I used to fish the Clinch river alot when I lived in Clinton and fished the river between Knoxville and Farragut back in the 80's, early 90's.

Great spring float. I’m just getting into creek & river kayak fishing. Still searching for creeks where I can work upstream and float back, but I appreciate why people like to do “floats”. Did you just Uber back to the truck and circle back for the kayak?

You need to add a drag chain to your kayak. The drag chain will slow your kayak and help keep you pointed down stream.
I've been creek kayak angler for ten years. I totally did none of it last year after buying a power boat, but this video is giving me the itch, bad.

John great video but you should try rapalas the gold and black and silver best for rivers I catch a fish about every hole with this lure.
