ABOUT THE VOICE
The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series "The Voice" returns with multi-Grammy-nominated Cuban-born singer-songwriter and actress Camila Cabello claiming her red chair alongside superstar returning coaches John Legend, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Carson Daly returns as host for Season 22.
The show's innovative format features four stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts and Live Performance Shows. This season's Battle Advisors include Charlie Puth (Team Camila), Jazmine Sullivan (Team Legend), Jimmie Allen (Team Blake) and Sean Paul (Team Gwen). For the first time ever, the third phase of the competition will include three-way knockouts.
In the Live Performance Shows, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast, and the television audience will vote to save their favorite artists. In the end, one artist will be named "The Voice" and receive the grand prize of a recording contract.

She did great but.. trying to sing a Selena song is like someone trying to sing Whitney Houston... it's never even close to the same feeling you get when listening to the real thing

I totally agree. This is my favorite Selena song. I didn't know any spanish when I first heard it years ago. But I felt it. I ain't heard nobody do it like Selena though. Just like a Whitney song.
She did great but I also think that its so hard to cover Selena because her sound is so iconic
I think the coaches would've turned at the beginning of the season. Now it seems like they are extra picky for their final spots on their team.
She actually sounded better than some who did get turns! She should of a least gotten one turn!! She has incredible voice

@@serycleancooking Intonation can be learned, to an extent, but in most cases, you are either born with it or not. Actually, after a few early issues, I thought she pulled things together, pitch wise.

I’ve heard people with way worst pitch go through to the next round. I think she could’ve gotten a second chance

Agreed I think she's also better than the two Tanners and Bryce honestly. Best no chair turn this season so far. She deserved to turn chairs. I feel like she came in too late as the timing was off. I think if she went in earlier she would have turned for sure. She was great!

Camila said “Rosalia”. Who is that? This is a Selena song? Shouldn’t she be referencing the artist or did I miss something.
This pissed me off bc she sang it beautifully and traditionally. There was no need to white wash it like Rosalia does. They fumbled the bag so bad. She’s gonna be a star
She deserved a turn around. I heard some special sparkle in her voice. She just needs good coaching.

Her tone was pretty good but some of her notes fell a little flat in the lower range. She had better control in her higher range. Some pretty moments near the end but no coaches turned.
Whenever a contestant sings in Spanish coaches don't know how to react. They don't understand the lyrics so they can't connect to the song. Maybe if her song choice would've been different, it might have helped her. I felt she was good enough.
@@elidamartinez4483 I'm pretty sure she was going for Camilla. They sometimes turn for foreign language singers, tho. I think it's about the tone and pitch.
You could certainly hear her nerves throughout her lower range
@@elidamartinez4483 before they can connect, the notes need to be the right pitch. she was pitchy the majority of the song. Camila knows Spanish and Shakira before her, so that is no excuse.
I think when she go for those higher notes she let's loose a bit but she was really in her head in her lower registry. It might be as Camilla says, you have to make it your own. To me, if I sing a song the way it was originally sung then I'm in my head thinking if I'm doing it right, as opposed to my own version which I had control of how it sounds

I feel like she was trying to much to sound like Selena. Selena is one of a kind. I think that is why Camila told her I wanted a twist. Cuz her rendition and selenas one is the same. I wanted a twist too.

I wanna say this yelka did a amazing job tonight on the voice show and I would of pushed for her if I were a coach on the voice show and I hope miss yelka see these comments on here u definitely have potenial to go very far in the voice show competition and I hope u tryout again for the voice show next season
I think the problem with doing an iconic song is that unless you bring something new or at least meet the levels of the original singer, the song will feel like it’s missing something. I’ve listened to this song a million times and I kept waiting for the Selena notes and they just weren’t there.

I don't know the song but Yelka has a great voice and I loved what I was hearing from her. I thought she deserved a chair turn. It was probably just bad timing and might have auditioned late or something.

Her singing was simple, pure and clean. Not everything needs an 'edge' or to be mixed with another style. (Can you imagine them telling a country artist to add a hip hop beat in an audition?) Listening to a know-it-all 25 year old who didn't even recognize a classic Johnny Cash song is beyond annoying.
To be fair, Johnny Cash is not that great of a [country] singer. And those who do not listen to country music wouldn't have heard of him as much as George Strait or Dolly Parton.

I think with some coaching this young lady could have gone a long way, she did fail to convey the emotion of the song "heart break" had she conveyed that I think she would have had people turn. Blake and Gwen missed the boat on this blind

She has a good voice but style and pitch matter, she did too much belting or stretching of notes/ syllables that don’t make sense for the instrumentation and style, Selena did some sticcato like notes at the beginning and in this versions she did the opposite with sustained vibrato, sounded awkward in this version. The belting didn’t convey the pain of the song felt too triumphant.
She was very off-key. This song has to be done on point. Deff should've chose different song
