Too true, the amount of times I died against the first divine lion was unreal and I just spent 3 hours killing promised consort granted I'd already killed all the other bosses but still! When I encounter a boss I try as many times as it is needed.
I'm a new player to Elden Ring, not Souls though, and thought it would be fun to have my first playthrough a level 10 naked. I'm not very smart. Bashed my head against Margit so many times I just had to turn off my PC and walk away.

Yeah, the NPC quests change _MASSIVELY_ in this DLC, depending on what you do and don't do. Hornsent won't attack you alongside Leda if you had summoned him for Messmer. There's actually a fair handful of talismans, weapons, shields, armor sets, Ashes of War, spirit ashes, spells, and even a cookbook that you can get from the NPC quests. Even different stuff depending on certain choices, which kinda forces ya into replaying it. (The armor sets from Leda, Dane, and Freyja are basically always guaranteed, though.) Also, yeah, I'm both proud and peeved that you genuinely stumbled into the accidental best set-up for fighting Promised Consort. Tanking his attacks is one of the popular strategies, and a blood-infused Sword Lance is absolutely cracked. (All spears and thrusting swords allow you to shield poke. It's been that way since Dark Souls 1, maybe even since Demon's Souls.) No grief from me for that, that's how I got him the first time when I eventually got a bit desperate. I've since learned that Promised Consort can supposedly be parried (and quite easily at that), so I might try parries next. Cheerio!

Dude did one of the strongest builds. Mohg’s Spear for AoE or a piercer blade for Radahn.
