Ballasting the track makes such a transformation especially as you have painted the sleepers & rails first.
    Nice work.

    Hi Grace and Rob.
Just how I do it, although yours is neater than my ballast. I do 50/50 pva and water, only thing different I use IPA.
Great T shirt Rob, can't miss you wearing that one.😉
Be back for a catch up soon.
    Stay safe you lovely pair.

Hey Pete, the ipa is what’s in the spray bottle, I may have not mentioned that so I do apologise. Believe it or not he got that too from a race the train… not that he ran it.. we were doing medical cover 😂😂 enjoy the rest of your holiday :)

brilliant update RGJTrains👍ballasting is like marmite (some like it some don't), i done sixty odd foot of it on my first and only layout since getting back into the hobby after 30 years during lockdown and discovering great youtubers like yourself's, i found a gentle tap with a spoon on the rails clears most of the ballast of the sleepers then flick the odd bit off afterwards, i look forward to watching you're progress. 👍

Hiya Rob and Grace. Sounds like you have lots of plans and the next episode is going to be packed. Just remember to paint all of the track with sleeper grime, that you will be ballasting, before you actually do go ahead and ballast it.
Oh and don't forget that Sir Captain Static is always here, if you need any help and advice when it comes to static grass... 😀 Mark.

    • @RGJTrains

    • @RGJTrains
      @RGJTrains  Год назад

Hi Philip, thats brilliant news, if you decide to vlog your journey, feel free to tag us, our advice would be
1, It's your layout, don't let others tell you what to do, our followers are brilliant with suggestions for us, none have told us what to do
2, BE YOURSELVES, just be totally natural if you do Vlog it, how you see us, is how we are always
3, Go with the flow, plan if you wish, but expect to break that plan on NUMEROUS occasions lol
4, Expect disagreements over things, and find middle ground
      5, Always follow rule 1,

Great video and tutorial of the progress you've got going on. I'm a new subscriber per MomandSonTrainRailfans. Would you guys be willing to donate a sticker to my railroad room I'm creating. I'm a disabled Delawarian due to a hereditary nerve disease and don't get out much. I've designated a section of wall to put these on. Thanks again for sharing your videos with us. Cheers from Laurel,Delaware USA

Hi , as yet we’ve not created our own stickers, just the default ones in the youtube shop, once we do, we can start sharing them out.
