Thank you so much! My husband, the cellist, passed away in 2012 and we played this recording at his funeral. So it is bittersweet for me. Your comment touches my heart very much. Thank you
This is an ancient Highland bagpipe lament for the dead. I sometimes play it at funerals, but, musically, prefer the tune "Flowers of the Forest". Nicely arranged for strings here, and sensitively played - well done.
Was reading a book "Black Rock" and they mentioned this piece so I thought I'd have a listen...first with bagpipes then came this arrangement....most impressed with it softness and beauty...just had to play it twice.
I've been a very studious and dedicated piper for well over 40 years, but nothing in my experience can compare to this arrangement. Simply gorgeous.
