I honestly think the judges should always be notable bboys who aren't familiar with those competiting. We human beings are naturally biased no matter what. If I have my friends on a panel of judges, they're going to be even slightly more lenient with me.
That might not be possible lol. The breaking scene is interconnected everywhere now. Pretty much all the notable breakers will have heard of or seen the breakers who usually compete

I think there should be a limit on the number of times someone can enter if they have won a title. That is the best way to avoid the Menno situation. You cannot control the judges and Menno did nothing wrong, you cannot blame him for entering. The issue is not that we don't want Menno to win but that we do not want him to win if it means Alvin, Samuka, Hiro (my personal list) lose one of their few chances to win. Remember this is a young man's sport, if you are doing anything truly entertaining anyway! I usually don't like "charity" wins but Samuka genuinely impressed me with the amount of attention and detail in his dance, he has top rocks and everything!
i agree with most of what you said, with exception that Samuka is far from a charity case, the guy is a limitless soul and he did beat menno, and entertained us all a lot more than menno that was just rolling and rolling like a grown up spoiled kid that wouldn't listen to no one and gets clapped and praised no matter what he does
The limit could maybe work but it seems a bit punitive. The judges need to be people who don't know the participants personally. The breaking community isn't a small village where everyone know each other, there's dancers from all over the world.
@@ptit-monsieur First of all, thank you for being civil. Here is why I still think there should be a limit: Menno's dancing and the judging is actually beside the point. Let's say we agree that Menno danced perfectly and deserved the win, and the judges did nothing wrong, that does not change the fact that he won a title he did not need and denied someone else their dream. He should not be in the competition at all. It just so happens that many people don't like Menno's style but I don't think it would be better if a power move bboy won the title 10 times and 7 people did not get that life-changing title. Let's just avoid the situation completely. Maybe Red Bull can do a seperate event for all-stars to compete in?
@@KiiroSagi Yes I get it, but it's a bit complicated, someone winning multiple times just because he's THAT good isn't really an issue imo, it gives young dancer someone to look up to. And then when a young guy comes in and beat that multiple champion, that's magic. Someone winning multiple times should really deserve it so that we don't have this problem of "but let the young ones have it !" That's why I talk about having good judges because I really think that's the root of the problem. And btw, good judges would never make a powerhead win lol
