I visited the Culloden battlefield site about twenty years ago and this was the music played in the visitor center. A very appropriate choice by the curators.
@@NathanielDowell we do have the yearly highland games in Boise. There is Celtic music played there. I myself love Celtic music. I find most of it on the internet. I'm getting a bit tired of the noise that passes for music these days it is good to get a break from it.
Love this . I've been a big fan of Julie Fowlis for years now and have been lucky to hear her perorm in a little church in Belfast. Bhí sé sin go hálainn.
Julie Fowlis is amazing, and listen to that arrangement. The songs are never over-played, which allows her phrasing to be a conversation rather than a declaration.
Julie Fowlis - what a special artist! I'd love if she would be the next president of Ireland. We've already had I think 2 Anglo-Irish presidents, a Cuban/Spanish president, time for a great artist from Scotland who is also fluent in Irish (French as well).
Wonderful woman, excellent music, magic voice, amazing song. Gaelic language sounds like the words don't come from mouth, but from soul.Greetings from Siberia.❤
Je découvre aujourd'hui cette chanson car elle est citée dans le livre que je suis en train de lire. Les eaux du Danube..❤😢🤗. L'interprétation est magnifique 🤟
So simple the tune, so simple the lyrics, so simple the way it pulls at the heart strings of old. Again, I'm in tears. From this Wiccan heart, and a poet true and tried, thank you for the beauty that shines like my true loves eyes every morning she opens them.
Julie , Duncan et al do such a fine job on this beautiful Gaelic song. Although I don't understand the language, this song brings me to tears so it must be sad. Gaelic music has now become my favourite , especially when sung with such emotion and passion as Julie Fowlis brings to her music. I'm sure she has performed in Cape Breton before but I have yet to attend a concert. I'm putting it on My bucket list. Thanks for sharing.
Very beautiful though I unfortunately do not understand the words, because I don’t know the language… The emotion and timing in her voice seems sad and yet very beautiful as she tells a story.

A remarkable lament that is so human and echoes down through the ages thanks to fine artists like Julie Fowlis.

Is gun tigeadh tu dhachaidh
Le aithghearr 's le aoibhneis
Ach tha'n t-am dhol thairis

Gus an teid mi dhan annart

Julie Fowlis is always a wonderful voice to hear. Greetings from Idaho, U.S.A.
Is there a lot of Celtic music in Idaho?

Yeah, she's a superb singer. She hails from a beautiful country. 🏴 she sings beautiful songs. What more can I say?

From New Zealand on the day we celebrate Matariki, the Maori NewYear, I am overwhelmed by the voices of my other -Celtic -history

This is one of my favourite gaelic love songs. Anne Lorne Gilles also recorded a beautiful version of it.

What a great looking lady with such an amazing voice... Wish I could hear her in a concert or even in a pub.
Hopefully it won't be long until we can all be in a concert or a pub again
Song of love, pain, & family.
This song gave me wings. 😊😊😊
I could listen to that song all night.🇺🇸

This is soul touching. Gaelic is such a beautiful language. Most of my ancestors were from Ireland, Scotland and Wales and probably spoke it.
And a lot of England

Hello
These artists are all Scottish. But the love of our Irish brothers is obvious.
Очень красиво , мелодично и нежно

The pianist does a great job.
Wunderschöne, zärtliche Musik. Gefällt mir sehr gut.

Magnificent, a piece of music of great beauty. Compliments to all for this masterpiece. 👀👍

Allright, I as gonna listen anyhow!

Thanks for watching and great to here from our cousins in the Lone Star State
Amazing singer ✨
Hi everyone from Nebraska! Peace and love to all you and our beautiful little spaceship called Earth, where such wonderful melodious music exists.
The connection through music brings us all a little closer. Great to hear from Nebraska
My days you have a stunning voice
Great song. So many feelings. The skill and emotion each one of you brought to the table is beautiful.
Thank you
Hello 😘
Wonderful, so different!
You have a 'KH' what the Anglo Sachsens and the French dont have!
Would be nice, if more people in Great Britain and Ireland learn Celtic language and songs.
Could not agree more, our language trashed and our people dispersed, also our culture dis-missed, our land emptied, and our houses reduced to ruins.
Very beautiful though I unfortunately do not understand the words, because I don’t know the language… The emotion and timing in her voice seems sad and yet very beautiful as she tells a story.
Sometimes words aren't needed to communicate
Looks like a Pictish princess.
Awesome voice mate
Julie. Always so beautiful.
The one person who disliked this video is an absolute unit.
Is that another name for a Philistine?
I have seen my likes flip to opposite. Luckily I think I have caught them all. Possible!
Why do you care who disliked it.
Beautiful Voice
Just beauty !!!
I so love it!!!
you've a lovely voice dear, thank you

Are any of these recordings available for purchase and if so where? Oh and obviously great job to the artists and all involved, sooooo enjoyable
Thanks for your comment, the recordings were done specifically for Port and there are no plans to release them, I hope you’re happy to enjoy them here

Всегда удивлялся тому - почему у ирландцев танцы энергичные, а песни грустные. Видимо непростая история сыграла тут роль...

The accents in the title are Irish, but the spelling is Scottish. Which is it?

The man playing the fiddle is like a whole orchestra, amazing, who is he? can someone tell me.,
Duncan Chisholm, plays fiddle out of this world
@@robertgalloway3771 👍
Duncan Chisholm --- his fiddle has the most beautiful voice: wins my heart every time. One of the greatest greats.
His bow posture is as bad as mine
Why do they title it a Celtic song it doesn’t really mean anything
