For organizing my ephemera, I made envelopes - the kind you'd put CDs into - and labelled them; They stand upright in a plastic box, alphabetically organized so that I can grab just what I need.
IKEA has wonderful rolling metal drawers in lots of colors for around $50. I have several, which I can roll to the dining room for group crafting; clean up is quick because I label all the drawers. I have one for each hobby/ craft, such as jewelry, paper crafts, sewing, and tools, like glue gun and laminator. Projects that need attention can wait in the drawer. For example, I save up things to laminate all at once.
I love the idea to separate by color. That will help me with decorating color themed pen pal letters... also i like that you chose to also separate florals and butterflies because you know that you have a lot of them and you are always reaching for them... i also want to try making my own trays .. but now i wish i had a desk to use the shallow desk drawer..lol.
i am drowning in digital kits, magazine cut outs , collagen kits and ephemera books that i have cut apart. i probably cut out 20-50 pieces for my collage journal pages and typically only use 5-10 images per page which leaves me with tons of accumulated pieces over the past 10 years. i am so overwhelmed that i cannot concentrate to put together my journal pages anymore. i sat at my desk for over 12 hours last night trying countless combinations and just couldn't get anything coherent assembled. i have drawers full of pieces that were once organized but have become a nightm!😱 i am a very ocd/tidy/organized person usually. i also have major attention deficit disorder so i end up going from one project/ page/idea etc and waste so much time trying to make something and usually end up with a page started but not complete. your ideas are FABULOUS!!!! they make so much sense! i am looking for your video on organizing digital kits. thanks SO much for your help. you explain things so well and have such an easy going personality that i really enjoy your videos!!!!
I've been looking for a better way to store borders and 12" long strips of paper. I'm going to use your boxes, but thinking of making 8 small boxes and one long box for the borders. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
I’m an organization junkie and use the acrylic drawers (labeled) for FJ collections and misc pieces by color. Also use the binders for my printable and Iris boxes for my tons of 12x12 paper. I like the idea of making the boxes to fix into the iris box to help further organize though. I do tend to spend so much time organizing and reorganizing that I find myself not crafting or bible journaling so I have to make a very concerted effort not to over think the organizing. The word for me is to achieve BALANCE. Haha.
Thanks for sharing all of those wonderful ideas/tips/tricks. I love to craft, but when I have to start digging through my scraps to find a particular piece of paper, I lose my mojo. I will defintely put some of those tips you shared into good use.
The idea of making boxes to go inside the Iris container is a good one. I do that as well, except I use cardboard boxes, like cereal or cracker boxes. I can make them any size I want, as you said, but they are just a little bit sturdier than paper.
Thanks for sharing your great ideas for organizing die cuts and paper pieces. Mine are all over the place because I like to store most of my supplies by brand (like you store FJ), but then I have some paper pieces/die cuts that I don't have other items from that brand/line so those get sorted by color or theme but how they are stored needs some work.
Storing by brand totally works, but I agree it is hard when you don't have a whole line of items in that brand. All of our brains work differently so it is important to find a system that works for you.
Thank you so much for the ideas! I have some IKEA organizers that I’ve been trying to figure out how to use. I had many lightbulb moments during this video.
Hi I just found your video and I absolutely love how you organize! what is that dimension for the Box that you put in for the plastic scrapbooking storage .I went on that silhouette website and I couldn't they didn't give me the dimensions to hand cut it
These are all super ideas. I really love the container with all those cute paper boxes!! I don’t have a cricket, but would love to be able to print out the template on my computer printer. Is that even possible?
I looked up the clear acrylic drawers through your link. Can you take the levels of drawers apart so you just have two levels like you did? Or is there a set with less levels? Thanks...loved the video!!!
There are several different sets on Amazon , so you can probably find an arrangement that works for you. Also, check out your nearest TJ Max or HomeGoods...they also have great deals!
I'm always a bit "afraid" to watch one of your organizing videos because a few months ago I watched one on how you organize your stamps. Never had heard of "By the Well 4 God" and now I have 13 of their devotionals kits! So watching your videos can be a blessing and be expensive, lol. Thanks for this video though because it gave me some ideas for using storage I already have and also gave some relatively inexpensive options I don't have yet.
I love this video ! My paper pieces are "willy nilly" for the most part. I was frustrated just yesterday looking for something I knew I had. So... it's a rainy, soon to turn to snow, kind of day here. Time to get organized !! Woohoo.... count me lost in organizing !! Lol !!
@@KrissiCreates I know what you mean! I have a couple of Scrapracks from Totally Tiffany, but they take up a lot of space and I have way more paper pieces than I can fit into them. I finally just used one for various themes and the other for things like individual flower, "bling" like pearls and enamel dots, and alphas. I have a lot of extra Project Life plastic pages I'm not using and I think they'll be great for organizing other small pieces. Best wishes for organizing--snowy days are the best when you don't have to go anywhere and can catch up on things at home.
Could you please tell me the finished dimensions of the little box that fits 12 in the Iris? It would be perfect for my ephemera as I don’t have a ton. Thanks!
I don’t have a silhouette , I have a cricket machine will this cut out work on my machine? I love how those paper boxes organized your acrylic plastic box so well.
I really like the little paper boxes in the Iris case. I love using items I already have to organize.
Me too! Another great way to use up those large paper pads we all have on hand!
I really love that one too. I just looooove boxes of any description Lolololol. They are my thing.
For organizing my ephemera, I made envelopes - the kind you'd put CDs into - and labelled them; They stand upright in a plastic box, alphabetically organized so that I can grab just what I need.
Sounds like a great system for you!

Great ideas and great video. I’ve taken the time to sort my small scraps and ephemera by color and it’s a system that works great for me.
That is awesome!
Thank you, so far the best organizing video I’ve seen. Thank you. New subscriber
Awesome! Thank you! Welcome!
Love the boxes idea🌸
Glad you like them!
I love how you used the drawer organizers in your drawer. TFS!
Thanks for watching!
So love the use of the iris case/drawer with paper box inserts... it uses the space so well. I definitely need to try this. Thx.
Yes, it was a super efficient use of space!
Love your ideas and have bought the cosmetic drawers and made boxes for my different shapes, circles, square, triangles. Thank you!
Yay! I hope the system works out for you!
All fabulous ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Hehe, there always seems to be just one more thing we need to make our space the most functional!
Oh my goodness! That iris case arrangement was brilliant! I know what I’m doing this next week!
💕💕💕 Gotta love using those iris cases! I feel like we all have them laying around.
Me too...
I went and bought card holder sheets for my ring binder folder right away ... so thank you for these tips x
Wonderful!

We can all get caught up in that loop for sure! But, the more organized I am, the easier it is for me to jump in and craft!

So many great ideas! Do you have a pattern for the patterned paper made into a small box to share by chance?
It was a pattern available in Cricut Design studio!

Welcome! I am so glad you are here!
Great ideas for organization. Thanks! -Amanda
You are very welcome!
Great idea thanks
You’re welcome 😊
I have 3 sets of those acrylic drawers and have been wondering what I really should use them for...Problem Solved! 😬😉😘
Nice! I love acrylic pieces because you can still see your gorgeous supplies!
Hi I just found your video and I absolutely love how you organize! what is that dimension for the Box that you put in for the plastic scrapbooking storage .I went on that silhouette website and I couldn't they didn't give me the dimensions to hand cut it
Hi, each little box is roughly 4" wide, 3" long and 2" tall.
These are all super ideas. I really love the container with all those cute paper boxes!! I don’t have a cricket, but would love to be able to print out the template on my computer printer. Is that even possible?
I bet you could google “box template” and find some good ones to print out!
Can you share the finished size? They fit in there so perfectly!

Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day💕💕💕
New goal for 2020 - organize paper pieces! I really need to do this! Thanks for the ideas!!!
Awesome! Let me know how the organizing goes!
My goal in 2022
I like the idea of the iris cases to store paper pieces.. I have one with colored 4 by 6 boxes... Right now all my paper pieces are in a shoe box lol.
Haha, yup, it works pretty well to be able to see them a little better!
I use the baseball card sleeves for smalls that I have cut out
Good solution!
What are the dividers in your desk drawer? They look really shallow.
I am pretty sure they are from the bathroom section at Target.
Can you tell me what size this box is? I have a cricut but not a silhouette.
Approximately a 3x4 box.
Could you please tell me the finished dimensions of the little box that fits 12 in the Iris? It would be perfect for my ephemera as I don’t have a ton. Thanks!
4X3
What about Press ‘nSeal to lay pieces and wrap?
You could definitely do that - for me, it ends up just being a hassle to get them out. But, totally depends on what works for you
Do you happen to know the name of the box on the Silhouette store?

Could you please share which box template you used from the Silhouette store????

Here it is!
@@ScrappyWife Thank you SOOOOO much!!!! I love this idea, and just got a Sihouette for Christmas, so the timing is perfect!
@@ScrappyWife Oh my goodness, I never would have found that on my own as the same box!!!
I don’t have a silhouette , I have a cricket machine will this cut out work on my machine?
I love how those paper boxes organized your acrylic plastic box so well.
👋👍😊
Thanks for watching Londa!
The binder stuff would fall out
It depends on how much you put in the pockets and how fast you are flipping through the pages. But, I know people that love that system!
