I am fascinated by flat flanges of this piano. Is it pivoting in capsules or by leather bars (like Arnault "hammer" action)? Please, could you explain an evidence of Bach´s performing his gamba sonata on Silbermann? Thank you very much!
Standard English design as used for decades, with leather hammer hinges (sometimes parchment??). Gamba sonata-where did _that_ come from? 🙂 One of my favourite recordings of all time is of that music with a Silberman (performed by the Ghielmi brothers). The theory is discussed in the booklet.
