I'd rather hunt Jho in the Vale than the Forest tbh. The Rotten Vale was where I first found him and it was amazing. Jho vs Odogaron vs Bomberbro was the most best, chaotic hunt I've had in this game. I didn't even know about the miasma rocks until you mentioned it.

It's videos like this that make Canta fun to watch. The first encounter, the majesty of fighting a monster for the first time, it's something that simply cannot be captured after the grind. This ritual that makes a player a hunter, its a precious thing that's shared, and Canta's silent battle is a beautiful thing indeed.

Remember farming hr jho in MH3 ultimate. Got to the point where I wouldn't lose health cuz his move set was so easy to memorize and his huge hitbox was useless if you camped underneath his legs when he does the tail swipe. Ahh good times. Remember getting so pissed trying to get the jho gem.
Has anyone got a tempered jho investigation? Or have you ran into jho while on a tempered investigation? Nice hunt btw canta!
If you don't fight Jho with augmented gear, he's pretty hard. Even with a maxed nergigante cb (No augmentations) it takes 25-30 minutes to beat. Or I just aren't that good
To those of you who think the pickle is weak, just remember y'all probably beat the game and got endgame sets. He can still cart you if your careless.

jun its just the way I see it is, alot of the movement restrictions in the old game compared to now, is what allows us as the players better opportunities to dodge. If anything, what makes the game easier are the mantles and boosters. I wont discredit what you said, but based on current player levels and experience so far; joe isn't/shouldn't be as difficult if you got end game sets and decs.
While i do think devil jho if ur careless isnt fun, with a regen build and extra health decorations i fail to see how its possible to die against him at all

Am I the only one who has noticed that Jho's front arms in MHWorld are actually tiny compared to how it's always been up until now? Guess they atrophied or something when it moved to the new world... Would be interesting to see if it's something like that...

They have always been really small, but this time they are basically non-existent! And don't get me started on how the new rage-mode coloration being all black is literally a Shin Godzilla rip-off that looks like the one from that recent movie.

That's likely the only time you'll ever see a non-elder dragon fight an elder dragon and that's because those two were together on the same quest for the target monsters.
If we're going to see Deviljho fight any elders we'll likely have to wait for a special quest to be created just that.

Yirota I don’t see how this is true, the only quest with both an elder and a regular monster is A Summons From Below, which has Odo and Vaal. Elder dragon quests only have elders on their own, except for The Sapphire Star’s Guidance which has three.

This is why I dont think dlc will work for monster hunter. Where is the difficulty in them releasing something like jho when i have a maxed out dragon killer setup and have been farming tempered elders for weeks. Cool but not challenging.
You could always NOT use your maxed set to see how good you actually are. That's the cool thing about MH, your stats and skills are tied to your gear, not to your rank. Try a naked run if you feeling that brave and confident, that's what people did in the old games.

Lolwut tempered monsters dont have their own weapon and the icon would have a purple outline if the monster is tempered. Not to mention this video was uploaded on the day Jho was released on console, Tempered Jho wasn't even available at that point yet.

He really doesn't seem as imposing as before to me. His damage is a bit too manageable, his sounds seem much less violent and deafening - in his previous incarnations, Jho sounded like a flamethrower on a subwoofer, now he sounds like a generic Jurassic Park t-rex. And his rearranged theme comes off as aimless and unfinished, whereas the almost cacophonic violent strings of the original added to Jho's chaotic nature and made every encounter with him that much more stressful.
Overall, not impressed. I can only hope they finetune him, because this is simply not the pickle I once feared anymore.
4U and Generations kinda gimped him by proxy because players got an insane amount of new tools to deal with him, most prominently mounting. But if you played casually and didn't grind for armor early on already, he was still a really intimidating opponent.
4U had some insanely powerful armors and weapons pretty early, not to mention the overpowered insect glaive, which made him much easier to deal with outside of high level guild quests - his spot got taken over by Rajang for many, and Yian Garuga, of all things.
And Generations added the hunting styles and arts to the whole deal to trivialise Jho on top of not having a G rank (and no, from what I could gather, XX is pretty much the same difficulty), further cementing it as one of the easiest MH games so far.
There's a lot of aspects to consider when critiquing a new monster in World, or even the game itself.
The damage just looks low thanks to the health bar not taking in the entire screen, also take into account the amount of armor this player has and the damage seems minuscule. But once your health gets below 50%, every hit from a major monster is going to strike fear into most hunters.
As for the music, I always find time to greatly appreciate the orchestra and the overall new aesthetic of the game. If you watch the videos the official monster hunter channel posts it gives you a good perspective on just how much love and care they put into this game, or the music in this context.
I mean, this was my option at least.
I took the time to compare Canta's hunt with a bunch of more casual players, and then I went back to MH3U to solo him, and I still feel like he's weaker than before. Though I may have to look up some damage calculations for more precise comparison...

My first one was gold crown in the ancient forest. Not bragging or complaining, but it was surprisingly difficult. Much harder than I expected, especially considering it was during an azure rath hunt. Very proud of Jho, also considering it failed the quest for me.
I like what they did with him in World. He felt a lot faster to me and I got carted twice. I wonder what they'll do with their other monsters in the future...

Nah the hitboxes of this one is bs asf. I got carted after got hit through a tree by his headbutt. I was like "how tf that hit me?"
That one move where Jho rears up and slams his head into the ground does a ton of damage, if he knocks you onto your back and you see him rearing up, stay down and let your invincibility frames do the work.
But remember canta is the monster in world it won't go the same for us normies
