DNA dictates more than identity of blood ; sound is different not better or worse. This is beautiful and flows like water on smooth stones. The Lauryn and D' Angelo cuts in the gut & makes you brave enough to bear your "real" at all times.
I do not understand the disagreement and this remake sounds so great. They both showcase their vocals strongly in this song.

I think its GOOD! No one is ever gonna sound like the original of anything...obviously. They put their own twist to it that matches their particular singing styles and I love their originality!!!
Not horrible but it's not something I would listen to again. It makes me want to listen to go the original. I love their voices though and the fact that they paid tribute to the song.

White-washing and musical gentrification is a REAL thing. Let's be honest. Historically white people don't share SPACE (of any kind) very well; if at all. They either leave. White flight. Or they stay and push people OUT. That's why we've got more Black rappers than we'll EVER need.
