  • Dear Viewer
This program is something of a shift from the road train videos I filmed in Outback Australia. I crossed the Tasman and spent a month or so putting this program together.
We travel from the very bottom of the South Island to the tip top of the North Island. In New Zealand I met some real trucking characters, Kiwi truck owners and drivers hauling sheep, cattle, logs and milk, bulk and general freight. These characters drive Macks, Fodens, Internationals, Scanias, DAFs and even a bullet-proof old Pacific hauling huge loads of logs. And we take time to see some of spectacular NZ - even do a spot of fishing.
I hope you get some enjoyment from this very different trucking program filmed in the early years of the 21st Century.
All the very best from Bruce (Honeywill).

absolutely love this video - lovely country, genuine people - hard working, dedicated to the job - maintain the trucks to a dime - a true credit to the owners and drivers - I left NZ 10 years ago, to retire to a tropical country - the cold wet NZ winters were starting to get to me - but I still love NZ - greetings from Philippines

Thank you. I enjoyed that. As a kiwi quantity surveyor who lives in Sydney, this portrays a very different way of life. I used to spend some time on sheep farms in the North Island and remember the big trucks coming to pick up the sheep....and the marvellous sheep dogs.

Bill richardson was an absolutely awesome bloke. R.I.P bill, you left the scene far too early.

Back in the days when the 'winnie reds' and lighter sat in the centre console and we didn't all dress like yellow glow sticks.
