Great video, thanks. Just a little suggestion, I find it works anyways, your ridge pole for your lean to should be on the other side of the trees. Right now your cordage is supporting all the weight, on the other side the trees and friction will help hold it up, in heavy snow there is a lot of weight that could come crashing down if a cord breaks
Cheers thanks. Good eye on the ridge pole. After going over the video editing I noticed the same thing. On the next trip out I updated it fixed it. I think it's on the next video after the one you watched. Cheers dude 👍
Hi JG just watched another video of yours from six months ago very cool. That machine of yours drives just about over anything that is it looks like amazing! Oh no no coyotes for me but I guess the fire keeps them away enjoyed your channel like always thank you till next one!
Really cool video. Just one question... why do you bother splitting those smaller pieces of wood? I noticed alot of bushcrafters do it. Wouldn't it be easier to collect smaller twigs/branches? Just curious not being critical.
Nice video, homie. Steak 🥩, potatoes 🥔 & suds 🍺🍺🍺...can’t go wrong with that. In the future, start packing some sort of PROTECTION 🗡🔪🪓 just in case some shit jumps off, you can protect yourself. 🙂👍
Hey buddy ! Great video ! loved it ! You're the NB Les Stroud ! hahaha Nice drive-bye shots and good job with the narration, editing was all good too. Nice shelter you have there, good idea to put those survival blankets on your roof. Steak and potatoes looked great ! "Butter me potatoes" haha had a laugh at that. I've never cooked a steak on coals like that, might have to try it ! Gotta watch those damn Yotes ! thats why I brought my .22 with me last trip. anyways man great video, I watched it all, Subb'd and thumbs up ! keep them coming. So I was looking at your boots, are you Military or? just happen to have the same style boots? AND if you ever come out with Merch your saying or quote on it should be "Alright Folks!" haha thanks fo sharing !
Survivor Gammon LMFAO. The steak on the coals is amazing. I know you use the grill but try once on the coals. May tasty the same but nothing to clean up at the end. I seen in your last video about getting the gun to protect your dog. Good call because he could be a snack for coyotes at night. Good call on the boots. You nailed it, yes i'm in the military. Lol. That's funny. "Alright Folk" Merch. I'll remember that. Maybe someday.
That's so awesome! Nothing like a good campfire to warm your cold camping bones! Steak and potatoes are the best survival food! ;) LOL What a great adventure!
We had a ready bad wind storm a week or so before and a few trees were damaged so I took advantage of that. Also, because the forest is thick and the ground is not great a lot of the time the trees start to die off and there's a few green limps left at the top. So in this case I'll take it down so the other healthy trees can thicken and stay strong. I never take down healthy trees just for some limbs or logs.
I live in New Brunswick, Canada. We have bears, fox, coyotes and some bobcats. Most of the time I just come across them on rare occasions but this time one came right up to the the other side of my fire wall. Not to worried tho. Thanks for watching @touborgen
@@JoshuaGammon well, if they came that close , I really think you should be worried. That's unnatural. Pretty rare, but one needs to remember that young lady at Cape Breton
@@JoshuaGammon I have cooked on rocks before but never strait coals. As no there is no sand or dirt, ,,It doesn't feel good eating sand. I will try. thanks

Very nice 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Thats looks really fun actually
I know it's cold but it is fun. No bugs is the best part. 😀

Sometimes the wood is wet or damp on the outside. Once you cut into the dry middle of the log it burns easier.

i like if you ceep your basecamp and build more so you could take some friends up there
Johan, I'm going to keep it for a little while and build a little more for sure. That's the plan anyways. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Hi Josh, this was a gem but I can't find the original were you built the lean 2?????????
At the top of my RUclips page click videos. You can scroll down until you find it. There in the order of date posted 👍

Thanks broknex. Always a good time in the woods!
happy hunting, happy holidays
Happy holidays and New year's! 🎉
@@JoshuaGammon welcome
love in d house
What do you carry to defend yourself from packs of animals or bears? Does your campfire cooking attract them?
Just a 4" mora knife! The campfire keeps them away if anything. I've been doing this for 15 years and ever had a problem.
Ya nice camp enjoy it for how long? Great i like it broooo
Thanks so much Dian!
Haa haa okkkk then u r welcome n i m u r fans from Indonesia bro
On your lean-to, how does dead limbs stay green?
We had a ready bad wind storm a week or so before and a few trees were damaged so I took advantage of that. 18:41 Campfire action shot
lol. Ya almost got my hand
How far away was the coyote?
Just on the other side of the wall. Maybe 5 meters away.
Where is your reflector??
I added it on the camping trip I just finished. Still have to edit the video.
Great video. Around where are you located, and do you have any other predators to be aware of?

@@hermit6208 ya I remember that. I think that was a wolf though. Coyotes are not so aggressive. Definitely keep the knife close by.
Next time pack a metal grate so your food donest taste like shitty dirt unless that is how you like it?
Greg. Give it a try. You'd be surprised. It doesn't taste like dirt. Just blow the coals to get the fire dust off and it's great. No mess.😀
@@JoshuaGammon I have cooked on rocks before but never strait coals. As no there is no sand or dirt, ,,It doesn't feel good eating sand. I will try. thanks
Greg Kurish did u ever try a steak cooked on the coals? And did you like it?
@@dougevans6389 Yes. I have in a few of my other videos. And yes it's great!!!
Joshua Gammon I think a steak is great cooked on the coals I was wondering if Greg ever tried it
I need to send you some money so you can buy a cooking rack or a pan!
Lol. Santa is bring me a 8" cast iron pan. I'll use it in a future video. I plan on a winter camping trip after Xmas. But it is fun cooking on coals.
Joshua Gammon great!
Very nice 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Good
