frst downgrade your miui to stock version 8. then unlock your phone using mi unlock software . then install twr and your desired rom. i did this with my redmi 4

After booting first time into twrp I clicked recovery as you did and now it's just showing mi screen and it's not booting

@RUclipsDionysus so it wasn't booting then I just booted my phone into fastboot again and installed twrp again then I booted into twrp and flashed the lazy flasher file and boom its all ok

@@TechJarves yes it is. The device is Redmi 4. And the message shows that it has failed to unlock the device even though the software is able to detect the device.
