There is a serious design flaw with all sensah lever that would only surface after long term usage. There is a trigger for shifting underneath the brake lever, and it is made of soft aluminum. Mine have worn out after one year of heavy commuting. It’s still functional, but the play is significantly bigger and annoying. I started apply grease to the shifting trigger since then.
Hey friend, I'd like to follow up on you with this. Trace Velo made a video about that part that hits the shifting mechanism. He said on the updated ones they are no longer the same material made. Hence Sensah has updated that part. Here is a link to Trace Velo's video ruclips.net/video/KbZevqq6U7Q/видео.html Do you have any verdict for this one?
@@pedalverso opa, boa noite! Certamente sigo recomendando 👍. I had an issue with my Sensah SRX PRO STI after 1500 km of use; it stopped shifting down to the last 3 smaller cogs. I contacted Sensah's factory, and they advised me to disassemble, clean, and reassemble it, as the return spring was supposedly stuck. I asked for a video or technical manual, but they never replied again, which left me quite disappointed. However, I found a video of a similar STI being disassembled and managed to follow it. Unfortunately, it didn’t solve the issue, and I realized the problem was the return spring lacking sufficient tension, preventing it from shifting back to the smaller gears. If anyone knows a way to increase the return spring tension, I would be very grateful because Sensah no longer responds to my emails-a complete disregard for their customers. I was very satisfied with their product until this problem occurred.
Despite not having much in the way of gravel riding in inner Melbourne I've wanted a gravel bike for ages and with my bonus coming in this week I may pull the trigger once you release your wheel and frame vids Furthermore it goes to show just what kind of margins SRAM and Shimano are making on their groupsets even after accounting for R&D, marketing etc.. Hell, this Sensah groupset is probably made in the same factory
Shimano parts are made in various Asian provinces including China. The "Drive" wheels are more expensive than an alloy rimmed wheelset if you've got a lower budget.
Rapaz, I assembled a full L-TWOO A7 group set on my vintage MTB chromoly Scott Summit 1999 just for fun and she is a monster! Now I will test another Chinese group set on my Caloi Strada and I will risk to say that I will not get disappointed! People here only think about Shimano, Sram, and period! What I say to my friends now is: hashtag_ChupaShimano. LOL!
I have considered this group set, but finally went flat bar to go MTB groupsets (M5100 is super cheap here, and with full hydraulic brake). Another problem unrelated to the shifting part is the crankset. 3 pin direct mount is very creak prone, thus I'd still go 105/tigra crankset instead, or go full MTB crankset if one is happy with BB spacer.
@@stevenleffanue I run Deore cassettes with mine no problem and copes with 11-51. BTW the pull ratio is the same as deore 11 speed mountain. So this means if you break the rear mech Shimano mountain will work just fine
Nice review mate, greetings from Ashburton, New Zealand. When you have a time, could you post a video about how to remove cosmetic rust from chain and wax it ?
After 2 year of usage me rear derailleur does shift down the cogs smootly anymore. There needs to be more pull of the spring when the cable gets released. But I cant find where to adjust this.
Compare this against other mechanical groupsets. The extra weight of hydraulic brakes has its benefits, and it is harder to get cable-operated brakes right.
My Ultegra Di2 lever has failed and there seems to be a shortage of replacement levers. Shimano and Sram groupsets are now at a point where if one small part fails, and it is previous generation (11 speed), they stop making that generation, then you must face replacing almost the entire groupset. In this case, the master cylinder seals are going bad and lever is not rebuildable. If they stop making the previous generation and they won't sell repair parts, the entire group becomes useless especially for Di2 or AXS (i.e. eTap). I am seriously looking at Sensah and L-Twwo.
Unfortunately that's the way in most industries now...it's no longer individual parts repair or replacement. If you can find a part replacement on Ebay or such grab it!
How is it after 8 months? Would you still recommend it? Could you have bought the kit without the brake blocks? I’m considering the 1x12 to replace a Claris groupset on my Kona Rove.
Why not test against 105 if not doing any real gravel-riding. The RX groupsets are sturdier for that reason, and comparing it to Di2 for weight is very favourable.
So the brakes need to be replaced, and the Juin ones you got also need to be replaced. The spider design isn't good, and it all relies on cables and low friction.

You're kidding right ? Yarra boulevard, main yarra trail, you can almost ride gravel from the CBD all the way out to to warburton !!! 😂
Great Video as always!!!
Aliexpress is saving us in Brazil because of the currency and higher prices with shimano and sram.

this was the group set that i'd been looking at for a while (for my eventual gravel build), until ltwoo released its gravel hydrualic GRT 1x 12 parts.

great stuff! Campy jersey, 80s music, and Sensah SRX. thanks!
so the question of the day...compatibility w/ shimano/sram? cable pull? cog spacing?
love the content.
The groupset comes with its own cassette so you don't need to buy Shimano or SRAM cassette Sensah shifting is compatible with SRAM cassette for sure.
@@stevenleffanue I run Deore cassettes with mine no problem and copes with 11-51. BTW the pull ratio is the same as deore 11 speed mountain. So this means if you break the rear mech Shimano mountain will work just fine
All 11 speed cassettes and chains are interchangeable between SRAM, Shimano and campagnolo.
Great video thanks. Will get this group set.
Love your unboxing review video😀
Dear, can this group be mounted on a Triban RC 120 or GRVL 120? Which bottom bracket to choose?
What chain do you recomend for using with the 12 speed srx pro? I am using KMC paired with a 9x50 ryet cassete and shifting is plain terrible.
Nice review mate, greetings from Ashburton, New Zealand. When you have a time, could you post a video about how to remove cosmetic rust from chain and wax it ?
Howdy. Use rust removal chemical then wax your chain quickly afterwards before oxidisation sets in again.

Check your inner cable it may need replacing
@@stevenleffanue I've replaced both the inner and outer cable. But still have the same issue.
@haakman123 could be any number of problems...take it to a local bike shop
@@stevenleffanue So. No adjustment screw for the spring tension that I am missing?
There is a 3mm hex which adjusts the spring tension...it moves the red dial indicator on the front

Can the levers take a single knock when dropped? Par for the course for something that advertises itself as a gravel groupset.
Haven't fallen off yet but passed thru lots of branches sticking out and layed bike on ground sideways a few times too....no probs.
yes, they are quite solid and have a well made feel to them. Overall build and shifting I reckon they are halfway between Tiagra and 105

Hi ! Good tips ! My question is can i used hot water to clean wax on drive set ?
Do not pour hot water on your bike it may damage paintwork and plastic parts. Hot water on chain only when it is seperate from your bike.

The groupset is still fine except I replaced the brake calipers with Juintech ones for better braking....still ended up being a bargain
@@stevenleffanue did you change to hydraulic actuated brakes then?
Yes
Hi, would this group set work on a road bike frame from 2008? Thanks
Yes. The brake levers will work with rim or mechanical disc calipers
@@stevenleffanue cheers for the reply. I will go ahead and try this group set out
I decided to find another option because Shimano GRX price is too much for my pocket.
If you can hold on another three weeks , Wheeltop are releasing their new wireless gravel gearset.
Great review
Would it be possible to use the break leavers with cantilever brakes?
Yes , cantilever or rim brake all have very similar pull ratio to the SRX cable pull lever.
@@stevenleffanue Thanks
The BB, shifter clutch an tolerances, levers and chain all need to stand up to abuse, and how they hold up isn't tested at all.
Is Shifter compatible with sram derailuer x-1 11s?
