The prices are ridiculous. LV and most luxury houses need to feel the effect of the economy and jolt the multiple times a year price increases but unfortunately the rich people with real money are usually not that affected by the economy and will still buy. I’m to the point where I have luxury goods and could care less about wearing them or using them. I’ve grown past the “got to have it, it’s all I can wear” phase in my 20’s and 30’s. I could care less now, have been carrying the same Tory Burch cross body since 2020 almost exclusively and haven’t dressed up to wear designer shoes and jewelry in ages. I’d rather see the money in my bank account than aging out of style in my closet. I do understand for people who don’t own any luxury the desire but as you grow and mature the desire wains and you also realize you don’t need something from every new release because it’s just not necessary.
But I think that’s the point. Because of RUclips and Instagram “influencers” , everyone and their grandma has LV. Even people who can’t afford it, driving old Toyota are buying. So it doesn’t make them exclusive anymore to the wealthy.

LV is definitely hitting a price ceiling with the mini pochette. It’s always available online and resellers are selling like new/excellent condition ones for way below retail because otherwise, they won’t sell.
Due to LV Website availability on all these items, Fashionphile & other re-sale platforms are going down the toilet FAST. The flipping party is over. The price increases were a necessary evil.
Just ridiculous! My very first LV pieces are over 30 years old and I love them ❤️ they are fantastic quality and I swear my small holdall was around $1000, I think. I haven't been overly gentle with it but it's like new. The quality simply isn't up to par today yet the price tag is vast! I love and admire anybody who is willing to say "enough!" And doesn't follow blindly simply because a bag has LV stamped all over it!💕💓

I am truly disappointed in LV. I think they are raising their prices above what regular people feel they can splurge on. I have all the basic pieces and would never re-buy the mini pochette with a chain. I bought it when it was $310 and have all three canvasses. I’d rather buy a pouch from your collaboration that you showed in a solid leather color.
Well, there you go. That’s the point: LV was never created for regular people. The company ( and several other luxury brands) are raising their prices in order to preserve the exclusivity of the brand by keeping it too expensive for regular folks.
I remember I bought the mini pochette for I think $250 or $275 back in 2010. It was definitely under $300. I have been using mine as well as a crossbody as a football game bag.

I absolutely LOVE my coach Nolita 15 and 19! High quality and great pricing. I would never pay 800 for a piece of coated canvas. I have found that the hardware on my LV tarnished easily too. For the prices they charge, that should not happen. I have my pochette Métis but I don’t need any more canvas from LV. I am interested in Celine canvas. You don’t see it everywhere.
Coach has become the drug dealers girlfriend bag. Also, they made better quality bags before the turn of the century (yeah, I'm that old) but not anymore.
I’ve always been drawn to the understated, classy look of LV. But there’s no way I can justify spending that amount of money on a canvass pouch. I forgot about Coach, thanks for the suggestion.
I have 4 Nolita 19 bags, and they are perfect. They can be a clutch, a short shoulder bag, a wristlet, or just a little pouch in a bigger bag. However, this is Coach Outlet, not Coach their price increases have been ridiculous.

One of my biggest regret is not buying the Mini Pochette when it was only $550. I kept waiting on it, cus I’m a newbie to luxury brands, coming from a hardcore MK fan. Lol. I waited it out & when I checked on the Mini Pochette again, it was at $745. I didn’t want to purchase it then, but I also feared LV was going to raise the price on it again, so I decided to just go for it. I paid a good $800 on it after taxes. After seeing this video, I’m glad I didn’t wait it out another year or so. Lol.
Go to a luxury outlet shop. I will never (unless I really want the product) will pay full full price for anything. I always go to the outlet and settle with what I find there

I haven’t seen anything particularly interesting at LV lately. However, most of times when I try on my bags to match my outfits, LV wins. I also got most compliments wearing LV bags vs. Hermes and Chanel.
I just came across your channel, and I must say that luxury bag's are a category that I was once enchanted with. Unfortunately like many other goods in this world, these companies have become incredibly greedy and overpriced. Of course, those who wish will always save up their hard earned coins to acquire a new designer bag but when does the madness end. I personally have a backpack from Longchamp that I use daily and it's a work horse. I cannot imagine spending a thousand dollars for a bag that doesn't have the space to hold my cell phone, wth!!!
I think many of us were enchanted, as you say, and now we’re re-evaluating. Part of the lure of luxury brands is the intangible magic (X factor) but when brands go off the rails with increased pricing and loss of quality, that magic inevitable begins to fade for many. I have an Eva in Damier Azur. I miss that bag and wish I had it in the monogram print! I did purchase your DUYP collage pochette bag and love it! I have the trifecta of the mini pochette and the toiletry (classic) bags. Because of the LV price increases and “cartoonish” bags, I have moved on to other luxury houses. I bought a Hermes Garden Party and Birkin pre-loved and last spring bought an Hermes Evelyne 29 from Hermes.

When I first knew LV, I fell in love with the sturdy quality and back then the policy was free repair for life. I saved up to buy my first Noe in 1989 and used it to death. Eversince, I have acquired 2 wallets, agenda and 3 other handbags with the thought that they will last me a lifetime. Only one wallet was retired and one agenda in use. The 3 bags and other wallet are still unused 😅. Through the years, there will always be a few pieces that catch my attention but for the simple designed ones, I will look for alternatives. That's my approach with LV, despite the price increases. It's good that you provided alternatives to remind those who aspire to own their first LV piece to be rational 😁.

The problem is the mini pochette doesn't fit a phone so I can't see it being popular as a mini bag. I also haven't been attracted to LV in quite a long time and I haven't been using any of my bags (but use my slgs all the time). This is snooty and politically incorrect but I'm just going to put it out there: I'm turned-off that everyone and their brother wears LV and it's almost "low rent" at this point in my opinion. There, I said it, sorry. I'm also older though and maybe I also look at LV as a younger person's brand.
What concerns me is the quality of some of their items . I'm in lv groups on fb and I see complaints about their lv sandals , for example, and how wearing them once resulted in the strap snapping . That's unacceptable in my opinion. Maybe it's because I'm not wealthy bit I expect quality when pay these prices .
Totally agree with your observation. LV is the drug dealers girlfriend bag, just like Coach became low rent/trashy in the late 90's and early 2000's. Personally I was never an LV fan, because it had too many knock offs out from the black market.
Oh it used to! lol an Iphone 5 which was out the time that I got my mini pochette, I miss the days I could stuff my iphone into it, now I cannot stuff my 14 into it but I still have my mini pochette and use it daily, holds all my cards and cash well ❤️will always be my favorite wallet I ever had

I’m so happy I have the bags and SLG’s I have already. I won’t pay nor can I justify the prices for most of the items available. I definitely wouldn’t pay 800+ for as you said a piece of canvas with fabric lining and then adding a strap. 🙈. I’m not as impressed with LV as I used to be or pieces I like are vintage and I purchase preloved. I guess for me a deal is more important than going to a boutique to get fancy wrapping and a box.
I agree with you but when I look on the preloved market like Fashionphile their prices are higher than buying it brand new...they jack the price up because they are sold out on the LV website...kinda feel screwed all the way around about buying anymore...
I’m surprised they aren’t going to add a longer strap for the Pochette Accessories. I just ordered one from Etsy. 🤷🏾♀️ Nobody is buying the SLGs with these prices. They might as well go back down.
It's a canvas bag encased in plastic. There's just a little leather trim. But it's mostly a very durable plastic encasement. Very similar to the plastics used for billboards so that they can stand up to harsh weather conditions and UV light.
LV price is still lower compare to other houses I guess and we might not like the new designs (I'm old I stick to the classics too) but I guess it's good that we have options with design and colors. We say oh they're just spitting out designs but isn't it great that we have options than just settling with what the company just wanna offer you. Like Birkins, you can't really choose and then when you're given you feel privileged that you got one. It's kinda messed up. We know about Chanels but have you guys seen the Celine prices?? They are capitalizing on their popularity right now and their leather bags are really expensive. Yeah we can say it's quality leather etc but a $6000 bag is waaay up there. At least I can buy a lux canvas for less than 3k and really use it everyday than putting that 6k bag in the closet, break it out only for very special occasion and have a mini heart attack when it gets a tiny scratch. The Dior prices is ridiculous too.. for a cotton tote for example.
100 percent agree! LV continues to be a fav! It maintains its exclusivity by not being on outlets or discounts...but at the same time it's not notorious or obnoxious with it's pricing. They are playing it right and i love it! ❤️
Gina, I appreciate luxury but everything you mentioned is mind bogglingly insane. 3k or less for canvas? For cheap ass fabric? As a sewist, canvas fabric is usually a cheap fabric. It reminds me of what painters lay on the floor to paint a house. And 6k for leather? It’s a nice used car. It used to be my rent for housing in college. It used to be the cost of one semester of college. It’s crazy! All of it is crazy. I cannot justify the cost for junk. And don’t even get me started on the Prada nylon bags. NYLON!!! On one of my pinterest boards there's a photo of someone with a wrinkled brown grocery bag--they drew on the bag to make it look like a Chanel bag and attached their own chain--they folded the bag down over the chain. That's the only way I'd carry a designer bag--ironically, to make a statement.
I don't think the Kusama collection is selling very well as most of the items are still available on the website and my store still has most of the collection available. Don't care for it but bought a scarf to frame.
I have been holding out on getting a Speedy B 25 in the Damier Ebene for a while now. Wanted to make sure I make better purchases but I might have to pull the trigger now before my birthday in April.
I love my DE 25. It’s my first and will be my only luxury handbag. I like that it’s understated and doesn’t scream LV because I’m not that person. Purchased last year and will use it without worry because after all I can’t take it with me. So go for it. 😊
I was going to get the mini pochette in ebene to match my speedy b - I am glad I got the black HCC x DUYP one instead. The mini pochette prices at LV are getting out of control.
The coach nolita works just as well, very good quality at a much more reasonable price. Plus more color options. Mine is in black with gold hardware so I have a gold chain as well as a black crossbody leather strap to change the look.
I added a chain from Amazon and it’s a perfect mini bag for concerts and venues where you can’t bring in more than a very small handbag. Seems ridiculous that they are adding a chain at a premium!
I bought the gold chain for my speedy 20 as an additional strap and you gave me an idea to use it for my Xmas mini Pochette and I won’t spend additional funds to buy a modified ‘new’ design .. that’s just not smart spending. 😅
And they increased prices again as of today, at least in Europe. I was eying Capucines BB and it increased over night for 350€ and last increase was in November, they are out of control.
I'm still happy with your DUYP collab so don't feel the desire to own an LV mini pochette now. I got inserts and straps for my kirigami set so the medium size is still serving the purpose of my mini pochette, and the large size fits a phone. The biggest downfall after the ridiculous price is that it doesn't fit a phone so it's definitely not worth $745 or $860! If they made it a little bigger to fit a phone, then maybe. Otherwise, there is better out there to be had. I'm getting really temped by Loewe these days because of the quality of their leather. I'm losing interest in LV these days too. They are pricing themselves out of the market.
LV has really stretched the prices over the last few years and their quality is not improving with the price increase. I love the pieces I already own, but nothing is drawing me in lately with those prices.
I agree with you about Louis Vuitton hitting a price ceiling. The last bag I purchased was in May 2021 and I didn’t think I was going to be purchasing another bag at all. This weekend I walked in there and purchased the polkadot speedy because it brings such a joy to me when I look at it. However, the practical side of me is telling me to return it, because the price is simply outrageous for the quality of that bag. Compared to my older LV bags. The canvas is like tissue paper these days. So thin and cheap feeling. As much as I love the bag, it is definitely not a practical bag and if I keep it, I will need to purchase Twilley’s for each handle to keep it looking nice. I’ll keep you posted but feel like I’m going to end up returning it.
Dots are not my thing either, the pattern really made me dizzy! I think the chain strap from dress up my purse is really cute, I would buy one to go with my mini Pochette. it’s funny how the fashion police would say they’re “not purses” (some of purseforum were really judgey about using the toiletries 26 as a purse) but LV decided they are purses now, but you gotta pay up for it! can’t bamboozle everyone with snobbery. Everyone’s screaming about the price increases but people forget that LV was never meant for the main population. It was meant to be exclusive only for the upperclass. They want to keep it that way and focus only on their upperclass clientele as they have in the past. And I’m saying this as someone who can’t afford LV right now. I think the major reason of the popularity of those pochettes was that they were kind of on a budget for LV, now it is better to buy Alma BB, than PA. Anyway the prices will grow further. You make a good point. These smaller canvas items were once great entry pieces for newer customers dipping their toes into the brand. Not so much anymore with the prices being what they are now.

Dots always remind me of stains and if Red, blood. I am with you about dots! I help folks update their homes to get them on market and there is this White granite with Garnet splattered all over in fanned patterns on some of the slabs.. all it does is remind me of blood splatter. And who wants that on your kitchen counters? I have to keep my opinions to myself when I see this in re-sale homes. ;0) Specially because not everyone sees what I do.

It doesn’t fit my phone which is important, the wristlet chain drove me nuts inside my bags. I have all 3 sizes in the Toiletry pouches and I find those way more useful. I never understood the hype for the Mini Pochette . I only picked one up because of FOMO 🤷🏻♀️.

I got my Mini Pochette back in 2017 for $310 so I have not kept up with the price increases…. Woooooow. That’s absolutely bananas. The new pricing is half a handbag from Givenchy or Saint Laurent. And it’s the same cost as a pair of boots now or more than a pair of luxury heels.

I saw a woman at a college football game last fall with a Fendi micro baguette. It was so beautiful and so adorable. If I got something like that, I would go with the Fendi.
So many of the designer bags are either plastic-coated canvas, or plastic-coated leather. They mark them up 10-20 times what they cost to make…often even more, and people pay it because of the “status” of carrying one of their bags. I’d rather get a better leather bag from a small business…something that looks, feels, and even smells like leather. I have at least six big name bags in my closet, and am actually using one from Portland Leather Co. It “feels” like better quality, and I didn’t have to break the bank to get it.
I am a long time LV collector, I was given my first bag in 2007 (a Monogramme Popincourt Haute) and I own various pieces including some Mahinas. However, I find the overall experience of shopping at LV recently totally shocking. Given the horrendous lack of consumer care and overall terrible experience I’m going to be buying Fendi, Tod’s or Burberry. Their leather flap bags or hobos are roughly 40% cheaper and instead of being made to wait in a queue and berated (as LV Sandton City has forced me to do), I am welcomed with open arms and the entire experience just feels amazing by comparison. Louis Vuitton is getting everything wrong right now - and for sure they’ve lost me as a customer. Oh and Goyard is far more exclusive and classy right now…
I love my DE mini pochette, but I wouldn’t buy it at current prices. I paid £230 in 2020, it’s now £530 on the website 😳. I recently bought a beautiful leather crossbody bag with strap from longchamp for £175! Dress up your purse closed their shop via Etsy in the UK and is currently sold out of the small leather pochette ( have been for a while).

I am truly disappointed in LV. I think they are raising their prices above what regular people feel they can splurge on. I have all the basic pieces and would never re-buy the mini pochette with a chain. I bought it when it was $310 and have all three canvasses. I’d rather buy a pouch from your collaboration that you showed in a solid leather color.
Well, there you go. That’s the point: LV was never created for regular people. The company ( and several other luxury brands) are raising their prices in order to preserve the exclusivity of the brand by keeping it too expensive for regular folks.
I remember I bought the mini pochette for I think $250 or $275 back in 2010. It was definitely under $300. I have been using mine as well as a crossbody as a football game bag.

I absolutely LOVE my coach Nolita 15 and 19! High quality and great pricing. I would never pay 800 for a piece of coated canvas. I have found that the hardware on my LV tarnished easily too. For the prices they charge, that should not happen. I have my pochette Métis but I don’t need any more canvas from LV. I am interested in Celine canvas. You don’t see it everywhere.

I have 4 Nolita 19 bags, and they are perfect. They can be a clutch, a short shoulder bag, a wristlet, or just a little pouch in a bigger bag. However, this is Coach Outlet, not Coach their price increases have been ridiculous.

One of my biggest regret is not buying the Mini Pochette when it was only $550. I kept waiting on it, cus I’m a newbie to luxury brands, coming from a hardcore MK fan. Lol. I waited it out & when I checked on the Mini Pochette again, it was at $745. I didn’t want to purchase it then, but I also feared LV was going to raise the price on it again, so I decided to just go for it. I paid a good $800 on it after taxes. After seeing this video, I’m glad I didn’t wait it out another year or so. Lol.
Go to a luxury outlet shop. I will never (unless I really want the product) will pay full full price for anything. I always go to the outlet and settle with what I find there

I haven’t seen anything particularly interesting at LV lately. However, most of times when I try on my bags to match my outfits, LV wins. I also got most compliments wearing LV bags vs. Hermes and Chanel.

I just came across your channel, and I must say that luxury bag's are a category that I was once enchanted with. Unfortunately like many other goods in this world, these companies have become incredibly greedy and overpriced.
Of course, those who wish will always save up their hard earned coins to acquire a new designer bag but when does the madness end. I personally have a backpack from Longchamp that I use daily and it's a work horse. I cannot imagine spending a thousand dollars for a bag that doesn't have the space to hold my cell phone, wth!!!
I think many of us were enchanted, as you say, and now we’re re-evaluating. Part of the lure of luxury brands is the intangible magic (X factor) but when brands go off the rails with increased pricing and loss of quality, that magic inevitable begins to fade for many. I have an Eva in Damier Azur. I miss that bag and wish I had it in the monogram print! I did purchase your DUYP collage pochette bag and love it! I have the trifecta of the mini pochette and the toiletry (classic) bags. Because of the LV price increases and “cartoonish” bags, I have moved on to other luxury houses. I bought a Hermes Garden Party and Birkin pre-loved and last spring bought an Hermes Evelyne 29 from Hermes.

When I first knew LV, I fell in love with the sturdy quality and back then the policy was free repair for life. I saved up to buy my first Noe in 1989 and used it to death. Eversince, I have acquired 2 wallets, agenda and 3 other handbags with the thought that they will last me a lifetime. Only one wallet was retired and one agenda in use. The 3 bags and other wallet are still unused 😅. Through the years, there will always be a few pieces that catch my attention but for the simple designed ones, I will look for alternatives. That's my approach with LV, despite the price increases. It's good that you provided alternatives to remind those who aspire to own their first LV piece to be rational 😁.

The problem is the mini pochette doesn't fit a phone so I can't see it being popular as a mini bag. I also haven't been attracted to LV in quite a long time and I haven't been using any of my bags (but use my slgs all the time). This is snooty and politically incorrect but I'm just going to put it out there: I'm turned-off that everyone and their brother wears LV and it's almost "low rent" at this point in my opinion. There, I said it, sorry. I'm also older though and maybe I also look at LV as a younger person's brand.
What concerns me is the quality of some of their items . I'm in lv groups on fb and I see complaints about their lv sandals , for example, and how wearing them once resulted in the strap snapping . That's unacceptable in my opinion. Maybe it's because I'm not wealthy bit I expect quality when pay these prices .

I’m so happy I have the bags and SLG’s I have already. I won’t pay nor can I justify the prices for most of the items available. I definitely wouldn’t pay 800+ for as you said a piece of canvas with fabric lining and then adding a strap. 🙈. I’m not as impressed with LV as I used to be or pieces I like are vintage and I purchase preloved. I guess for me a deal is more important than going to a boutique to get fancy wrapping and a box.

It's a canvas bag encased in plastic. There's just a little leather trim. But it's mostly a very durable plastic encasement. Very similar to the plastics used for billboards so that they can stand up to harsh weather conditions and UV light.
LV price is still lower compare to other houses I guess and we might not like the new designs (I'm old I stick to the classics too) but I guess it's good that we have options with design and colors. We say oh they're just spitting out designs but isn't it great that we have options than just settling with what the company just wanna offer you. Like Birkins, you can't really choose and then when you're given you feel privileged that you got one. It's kinda messed up. We know about Chanels but have you guys seen the Celine prices?? They are capitalizing on their popularity right now and their leather bags are really expensive. Yeah we can say it's quality leather etc but a $6000 bag is waaay up there. At least I can buy a lux canvas for less than 3k and really use it everyday than putting that 6k bag in the closet, break it out only for very special occasion and have a mini heart attack when it gets a tiny scratch. The Dior prices is ridiculous too.. for a cotton tote for example.

Gina, I appreciate luxury but everything you mentioned is mind bogglingly insane. 3k or less for canvas? For cheap ass fabric? As a sewist, canvas fabric is usually a cheap fabric. It reminds me of what painters lay on the floor to paint a house. And 6k for leather? It’s a nice used car. It used to be my rent for housing in college. It used to be the cost of one semester of college. It’s crazy! All of it is crazy. I cannot justify the cost for junk. And don’t even get me started on the Prada nylon bags. NYLON!!! Another cheap fabric. Ughhhhhhhhhh. Gross consumerism, gross inflation, gross economy. No thanks. If I had 6k lying around, I’d rather put it towards a $500 leather purse and donate the rest towards a child’s tuition or scholarships.

On one of my pinterest boards there's a photo of someone with a wrinkled brown grocery bag--they drew on the bag to make it look like a Chanel bag and attached their own chain--they folded the bag down over the chain. That's the only way I'd carry a designer bag--ironically, to make a statement.
Their prices have gotten crazy. My Speedy was $750.00. They did something similar when they added the pouch to the Neverfull.

I have the monogram multi pochette with coin purse bag. You can seperate the bags. I use the mini pochette and added a chain and a wristlet.
I don't think the Kusama collection is selling very well as most of the items are still available on the website and my store still has most of the collection available. Don't care for it but bought a scarf to frame.

I have been holding out on getting a Speedy B 25 in the Damier Ebene for a while now. Wanted to make sure I make better purchases but I might have to pull the trigger now before my birthday in April.
The brown leather trimmings/strap on the Damier ebene does not age well like the vachetta. Cracks and feels like plastic. I sold mine.
I love my DE 25. It’s my first and will be my only luxury handbag. I like that it’s understated and doesn’t scream LV because I’m not that person. Purchased last year and will use it without worry because after all I can’t take it with me. So go for it. 😊

I was going to get the mini pochette in ebene to match my speedy b - I am glad I got the black HCC x DUYP one instead. The mini pochette prices at LV are getting out of control.
The coach nolita works just as well, very good quality at a much more reasonable price. Plus more color options. Mine is in black with gold hardware so I have a gold chain as well as a black crossbody leather strap to change the look.
I added a chain from Amazon and it’s a perfect mini bag for concerts and venues where you can’t bring in more than a very small handbag. Seems ridiculous that they are adding a chain at a premium!
I bought the gold chain for my speedy 20 as an additional strap and you gave me an idea to use it for my Xmas mini Pochette and I won’t spend additional funds to buy a modified ‘new’ design .. that’s just not smart spending. 😅
And they increased prices again as of today, at least in Europe. I was eying Capucines BB and it increased over night for 350€ and last increase was in November, they are out of control.

I'm still happy with your DUYP collab so don't feel the desire to own an LV mini pochette now. I got inserts and straps for my kirigami set so the medium size is still serving the purpose of my mini pochette, and the large size fits a phone. The biggest downfall after the ridiculous price is that it doesn't fit a phone so it's definitely not worth $745 or $860! If they made it a little bigger to fit a phone, then maybe. Otherwise, there is better out there to be had. I'm getting really temped by Loewe these days because of the quality of their leather. I'm losing interest in LV these days too. They are pricing themselves out of the market.

I agree with you about Louis Vuitton hitting a price ceiling. The last bag I purchased was in May 2021 and I didn’t think I was going to be purchasing another bag at all. This weekend I walked in there and purchased the polkadot speedy because it brings such a joy to me when I look at it. However, the practical side of me is telling me to return it, because the price is simply outrageous for the quality of that bag. Compared to my older LV bags. The canvas is like tissue paper these days. So thin and cheap feeling. As much as I love the bag, it is definitely not a practical bag and if I keep it, I will need to purchase Twilley’s for each handle to keep it looking nice. I’ll keep you posted but feel like I’m going to end up returning it.

Everyone’s screaming about the price increases but people forget that LV was never meant for the main population. It was meant to be exclusive only for the upperclass. They want to keep it that way and focus only on their upperclass clientele as they have in the past. And I’m saying this as someone who can’t afford LV right now. But I understand how it works and I’m ok with that.
I think the major reason of the popularity of those pochettes was that they were kind of on a budget for LV, now it is better to buy Alma BB, than PA. Anyway the prices will grow further. I thought €600 us crazy for big one, but now it is more than 1000, I wish I did not sell it for €400 couple of years ago
You make a good point. These smaller canvas items were once great entry pieces for newer customers dipping their toes into the brand. Not so much anymore with the prices being what they are now.

Dots always remind me of stains and if Red, blood. I am with you about dots! I help folks update their homes to get them on market and there is this White granite with Garnet splattered all over in fanned patterns on some of the slabs.. all it does is remind me of blood splatter. And who wants that on your kitchen counters? I have to keep my opinions to myself when I see this in re-sale homes. ;0) Specially because not everyone sees what I do.

So i bought the Mini Pochette for $310 also . I’m in Canada and the price for one is now $950 here ( which is insane) ! I sold mine last month for $750… I found I never used it. It doesn’t fit my phone which is important, the wristlet chain drove me nuts inside my bags. I have all 3 sizes in the Toiletry pouches and I find those way more useful. I never understood the hype for the Mini Pochette . I only picked one up because of FOMO 🤷🏻♀️.

So many of the designer bags are either plastic-coated canvas, or plastic-coated leather. They mark them up 10-20 times what they cost to make…often even more, and people pay it because of the “status” of carrying one of their bags. I’d rather get a better leather bag from a small business…something that looks, feels, and even smells like leather. I have at least six big name bags in my closet, and am actually using one from Portland Leather Co. It “feels” like better quality, and I didn’t have to break the bank to get it.

I am a long time LV collector, I was given my first bag in 2007 (a Monogramme Popincourt Haute) and I own various pieces including some Mahinas. However, I find the overall experience of shopping at LV recently totally shocking. Given the horrendous lack of consumer care and overall terrible experience I’m going to be buying Fendi, Tod’s or Burberry. Their leather flap bags or hobos are roughly 40% cheaper and instead of being made to wait in a queue and berated (as LV Sandton City has forced me to do), I am welcomed with open arms and the entire experience just feels amazing by comparison. Louis Vuitton is getting everything wrong right now - and for sure they’ve lost me as a customer. Oh and Goyard is far more exclusive and classy right now…
