the thing about intermittent sleep is to wake naturally, not with an alarm. for example, you normally wake in the middle of the night to drink water or use the bathroom. in an intermittent sleeping schedule you would not go back to bed and instead stay up until you felt sleepy once again. then if time allows you would repeat this until you get the desired amount of sleep. as far as napping goes: key to napping is to do it strategically! you shouldn’t really be napping for more than an hour, and ideally only for 10-30 minutes. any longer is when you start to feel groggy. i would love to see lucie try 5 days of intermittent/alternative sleep schedules and 5 days of napping. night night! 😄💕✨
You are waking up in the middle of a rem cycle if you aren't refreshed. "Limit your nap to 45 minutes or less, if you need to spring into action after dozing. Otherwise, you may drift into slow-wave sleep. Waking from this stage results in sleep inertia, that grogginess and disorientation that can last for half an hour or more."
Ah, interesting. I had always heard napping for longer than 20 minutes = grogginess. It’s very hard for me to nap as well, but I also usually only sleep between 4 - 6.5 hours a night. 😕
Refinery29 Also, chugging a coffee right before napping (or even just resting with eyes closed) - for at least 30 min - can help prevent that, but only if you sleep for less than a couple hours. While awake, you accumulate adenosines, which eventually make you feel tired and ready for bed. Caffeine also binds to adenosine receptors, so when those are cleared from a period of restfulness, caffeine will bind to them, and prevent new adenosines from accumulating for a short while. It does take about 30 minutes after drinking coffee before this effect can take place, which is why a nap or restful state for at least 30 minutes after caffeine is recommended.
after weeks of laziness, Lucy gets me out of my bed every week (or so ) with new ideas and a new way of thinking my life, GURL if you ever make a 5 days of trying being lucie, i'm in :) tested and it worked
Regarding the sleeping: if you just do it for 1 day, you gonna feel tired all the time. Research shows you have to adjust in a 2 weeks period but after you gonna be alright and gonna feel amazing. So don't expect to feel great from the beginning! :)

i am in the airport coming home from my first trip to NYC and i was hoping to see you, Lucie. Obviously i did pot cause there are like 8 million people in NYC but i loved my stay anyway and went to some places you have ementioned in your videos. Luv ya. ❤️❤️😍😘😍
Which mascara did you use? I've been trying to find one with a spiral brush like that....I used to use Lancome Hypnose Drama but the new packaging is annoying. That makeup routine is super long...you could wear moisturizer/concealer/BB Cream/eyeshadow/mascara/lip product. You can even axe the BB Cream...just make sure to blend your concealer really well. It will take you about 10-20minutes when you're used to it. I'm actually a beauty/food blogger on RUclips and I had to learn everything from videos since my mom and friends don't wear makeup. Fellow groggy waker. I have naps around 2pm-4pm when I'm editing on the weekends. I post my video then reward myself with a 1 or 2hr nap. I keep working away at my lists afterwards and it's like I have a 2nd wind. I should note that I have lupus and deal with a lot of fatigue....It's getting better with the naps though. My skin has drastically improved because of the naps too (had horribly dark circles).

Used to sleep in two 4 hour shifts for work (as a baker, had to be up at ridiculous hours) .. I don't recommend it. Only nice thing was getting to see the sun rise while I was driving to work. I would sleep around 1pm-5pm and 12am-4am.
1h30 isn't the best amout of time for a nap. it's either 20 mins or 1h to not wake up in the middle of your sleep cycles. Waking up in the middle of sleep cycles will make you feel more tired than before your nap. so waking up after 1h30 will most likely interrupt your 2e sleep cycle.

You should a five day challenge of different hair or something with your hair maybe styles or clip in extensions for one of the days that would be really cool
Now I'm planning to buy some bagels and cheese, I live for cheese! I'm Mexican, and for some of us is pretty normal to take a siesta after our mid-day meal. After some workouts, work and food I'm pretty sleepy already and I take my power nap of 10 minutes, I really feel great after only 10 minutes.
