Great to see another one of your videos pop up in my timeline! Excellent job once again, hope that you are doing well! I'll be really interested if the bow retains that perfect alignment or if there is any twist during the drying process, because what you showed at 11:59 was ideal! Awesome video
@@Couponuser16 thanks a lot, my friend, that is really kind. I appreciate it a lot! Yeah, regarding twists: time will tell! It is hanging away from any direct or indirect heat source so it can dry slowly and constatly - and maybe the predrying of the patches helped as well. My fingers are crossed 😊. All the best, my friend 👋
Just checking in, think we are about the halfway point of the drying process. Hope all is going well for you over on your side of the Atlantic pond. Hope your summer has been nice. Have you gotten to shoot your Turkish warbow yet?
This is way harder than making a self bow.... Maybe oneday ill have a go. As for now ill have to buy these type of bows, u ony have one that is 45@28 and about 62@35. Got it for thumb dray after using a 25#, big mistake, unlike fingers i cant get it past 27 it hurts my thumb too much😂😂😂
@@krownedklown420klik9 hey, my friend, in the end it's only patience you need. The steps itself are not that complicated. I can only encourage you to build one yourself, because it's a lot of fun 😀. And I help you if you have any questions in the process. Regarding the thumb draw: I absolutely feel you. I bought a little leather ring for the thumb but it still doesn't feel very comfortable 😀. I like the pinch grip way more but it doesn't work with ottomans - especially with a certain poundage. One of the reasons why I'm building a lighter flight bow. All the best, my friend
@@jadenkim-xs2ro hey my friend, that depends on the final poundage. My ottoman is to heavy for our little backyard. So its quite a challenge to find a safe place to shoot it in the middle of a City. But this flightbow should have half the poundage. So I'll probably give it a shot in the Yard. But of course it is planned to shoot both of them on a shooting range - but the only one nearby is closed in winter (and thats when the bow will be finish I guess). So in general: yes - but I have to figure out a way 😉. Cheers, mate
What type of hide glue are you using? I understand fish bladder is the best according to Adam Karpowicz. Is there a place you can purchase said bladders, or did you catch fish for that purpose? Beautiful stuff, cant wait to try and build one myself!
@@nickmorgan5388 hey my friend, if you activate the subtitle you'll know what type of glue I'm using in each step and what dilution. To make it short: for the wooden core and the horn I'm using pure hide glue (buffalo) I purchased on Amazon. For the sinew layers I'm using a mixture of hide glue and fish bladder (3 parts bladder : 2 parts hide mainly). I purchased the fish bladder here - but I don't think there's an english version of this webpage ( bogenbautradition.de/shop/kleber/natuerliche-kleber/1109/stoerblasenleim ). Hope that helps, my friend
@@m.bitious You're the man! I have a lot of experience making sinew backed horn-belly bows, but I've never made a Turkish bow, or used hide glue, so I'm eager to try.
@@nickmorgan5388.... when you say horn belly bows, you mean with a wood or bamboo core? Or just horn and sinew? If it's the former, what glue did you use to bond core to horn?

Nice bow but are you going to shoot it at the end of the series
