Hi, i follow your both hadoop installation and hive installation videos and setup completed
Can we connect to the hive through putty or any other front end tools such as DBvisualizer? If yes what should be the server name and connection strings
I did all the steps but I haven't got any bin folder in c drive and by using command prompt all files are downloaded but in this kind of format: "trunk/bin/ext/version.sh" what can i do now

On running hive --service schematool -dbType derby -initSchema getting schematool failed with error Table/view 'dbs' already exist in schema 'app'
Check if you have metastore folder created in Hive’s bin folder

Hi, I have followed same steps but while giving this command " hive --service schematool -dbType derby -initSchema" I'm facing this issue ""Error: FUNCTION 'NUCLEUS_ASCII' already exists. (state=X0Y68,code=30000)
