Character design is another big difference. Also choices made concerning the OG characters are frustrating and make no sense. The whole juts absorbing thing is way overused .

This's coming from a guy who read both naruto and boruto all from mangas before trying the anime.
First off wether you like it or not boruto is a sequel after Shippuden continuing the show with it's new plot and new mc, about 90% of the problems you listed are things which are found only un the anime like pacing, filers, nostalgia and all of that, when you read the manga it feels alott different from the anime adaptation which the anime studio brought out.
Also in the manga barely anyone from naruto hasn't appeared like kakashi and alot of others also side characters from boruto never even shown much and when they were put in the anime they were made to look boring, too much work for the animination team to give solid direction of the show to the point not only fillers but ''anime canon'' and novels were put into the show making anyone who watched it confused (except they read the novels).
Boruto at this moment doesn't have a main villian yet, everything we have seen so far has been boruto recalling memories of the past. Again boruto is only just beginning right now you can't expect a Shippuden lvl villian right away and people keep forgetting itachi, obito and the others that we loved took alot of time for us to bond with them and even cared for them while on the other hand you get some aweet dynamic from boruto like reading chapter 1 - 3 of boruto and watching the show, you find outvhow much just the anime changed it to the point it looks lifeless and even extended 3 chapters to 50 episode loading the show with fillers no one asked for (some are good tho) but still i hope everyone gives boruto a chance like i did bcos to me i am prefering the way the current manga is going than the beginning of Shippuden, and let's not forget it's the same studio which made people hate tokyo ghoul that's in work of the naruto series.

If you like it,great! Me,I can’t stand it. I can’t stand what has happened to character design as well as where they ended up. Anko is one example. A cool badass ninja suddenly becomes fat for NO reason. Ninjas are very active so her eating sweets would have zero effect since the body will burn it off. Not to mention,why isn’t Might Guy fat? He eats just as many sweets as Anko and he is in a wheelchair! Totally unable to exercise. I could keep going but I think I made my point. Boruto is not canon for me. Fanfics are better.

Honestly the boruto series isn't supposed to be like the Naruto series. Plus this whole adventure has been Boruto telling a story about his past. I understand the filler part, but if you don't like it, just skip it. And just because boruto is privileged, doesn't mean he doesn't put in hard work. He stated several times that he doesn't want to be like his dad. This is his story.
