Never heard of Year of the Ox (surprisingly), and my god they bodied. I had to go look at their music and damn..These dudes are nuts, and I give it to them for stepping up against these TBP vets. Aliens still absolutely murked this.
Before they were known as YOX they use be just known as JL and Lyricks. JL use to collaborate a lot with a rapper called Manifest and there music is brilliant. If you can track it down check out JL's albums Guaranteed Raw and Pull.Haul.Junkies. both are great albums that feature regular collars from Manifest and Lyricks. Also check out tracks such as LAVA (ft. Dumbfoundead, Manifest, Lyricks), It was Written (ft. Manifest, Lyricks, JL and Jin) and One of the best (ft. Dephicer, Lyricks and Manifest).
I met them in Austin when i went to see dumbfoundead..it just said with special guest..when I saw YOX jump on stage i lost my shit cause I knew Lyricks from my korean music obsession.
YOX have mad chemistry and bounce off each other so well! The lyricism is insane as well. Never heard of alien fam but their first part was mad. Round 1 - AF Round 2 - YOX draw imo 👌👌

if alienfam's mics were left open in the first verse I think we'd of seen a diff chemistry. You can see Obvi and Cata try to punch in a few times but their mics are shut off... but YOX mics stay on the whole time. IDK what's up there.
@@TheRelandi I was there and I could tell you that their mics weren't cut off at any point in the whole battle, the stage crew has to lower the 2nd mic so it doesn't pick up interference, you see it alot during battles whenever it's 2v2 plus you can hear them slowing down because they couldn't control their breathing while speaking fast
KushBudz12 YOX lines were funnier, their flow was better in this particular format, and Lyrick went off. Had this been a normal cypher, yeah maybe Alien Fam won, but the fact that this is a 2v2 Bar Fight, YOX's performance all round was just better to me. Alien Fam made it feel like a 1v1v2 because they didn't rap like they were on the same team.

cats lyricism is amazing and the way he pronounces his words is perfect his flow is flawless and obvi is one of the best team backpack heavy hitters and his lyrics were deep and thoughtful as usual alien fam is one of the best underground groups right now and they need the recognition the deserve.
