    Good Ole Vinny D. Cant blame him for going for the bag, he's a NHL rookie at 27. So this was his chance and he took it.
    He was improving year after year with Edmonton so hopefully he keeps it up. Just not against the Oil.

    i'm so relieved that vancouver managed to finish above calgary as the "it could have been worse" destination. big words from a guy who was healthy scratched out of the playoff run.

      It would be awkward tho going from the oilers to the flames

    oilers wouldve kept him but vinny d priced himself out of our cap, he played well for a 3rd pairing, i think him leaving and getting the 2mil a year is him getting his bagged bc after that contract i think hes a league min to 1.5 mil cal kinda thing. he was not great in the playoffs after the dallas series, broberg showed he was better in a higher stake series imo

    I think his comments are completely fair. Anyone would feel reticent about leaving and playing against their old team of nearly a decade.

    though I dont looooove what he said I understand what he means and especially now with the loud parts of the canucks and oilers fans hating each other I think that is part of the reason why he worded it so strongly. I do believe though that he might be our new zadorov who kinda just speaks aloud and lays big hits and might become a fan favourite. and hopefully he also comes with a "clutch" factor in big time games like zadorov though i think he wont be as good.

    • @mambaishim
      @mambaishim Месяц назад

      he will not be a zadorov but still will be a good defensive player he only has one goal and it was a fluke goal lol

      @@mambaishim i agree though i think he will fit better in van and if our coaching staff could turn tyler myers into a respectable player im sure they can make him a better player too lol

      @@Jrrobins99i mean the Oilers coaching staff took a bottom defensive team and turned them into the best team. Including taking Bouchard who had Barrie like defensive stats and turned him into one of the best defenseman advanced stat wise in the whole league

    Was Vinny offered a contract by the Oil? If so he could have signed a cheaper deal to stay and wait for his pay day!

  • @ipwnreviewer

    I think it's weird for him to take that interview at all, but once he's there it would make sense that he'd tailor his message for Oilers fans, though I do think it's all for humor. We loved him because he loved the Oilers, I'm sure it won't be long before he's loving the Canucks. I think if he were talking to Vancouver fans, he might have played up the hatred/anger/betrayal aspect more than the missing Edmonton aspect.

  • @akamoofossa4749
    @akamoofossa4749 Месяц назад

    I don’t think he meant it could have been worse as in he was opposed to playing in Vancouver, just that as a dedicated oiler and loving playing there, that the rivalry between the team that he is moving to could’ve been worse, like he isn’t used to the idea of being a Canuck yet, all he has known is being an oiler and he probably had feelings about say Calgary and Vancouver because those are the biggest rivals. Once he plays there he will probably love it just as much as Vancouver and then he will only dislike Calgary cause both teams he’s played on hated them 😂

  • @dirk903
    @dirk903 Месяц назад

    Now I am sure he didn't mean to disparage the Canucks. Just throwing out a "could have been worse"... Like 75% of the league is "worse"
    I will drop some shade his way though
    I 100% thought he had retired like 4 years ago. That is the impact I have seen from him on his teams. Definitely not a player I would have gone after if I were a GW.

  • @MrSeaneboy

    Dont care. He'll put the glorious Nucks jersey on and play his bag off. When it's all said and done he's a pro, right?

  • @StencilMunky
    @StencilMunky Месяц назад +1

    Was Calgary even look at possibly signing Vinnie? Or was he just throwing shade to Calgary because it is an Oilers podcast and he knows that would get a laugh.
    Because, even though he was on a team that went to the SCF, I have never heard of the guy.
