Hey mate, look up Ryan Moody's video on how to cast a net, can be used from small nets right through to 12ft cast nets. Similar concept to what you're doing, but breaking the sinkers into thirds, one up on right hand, one dangling and one in left hand. I use this method and its easy to get nice circles.
Can also confirm, Ryan has the simplest, easiest and most reliable way to throw most sized nets. Haven't tried it with bigger than 10ft, but I don't reckon I would have any issues. Can't justify buying a proper prawn net, maybe in a couple of months when the rivers settle again I will get a chance at the prawns again.
I have fished the Logan for 20 years now. Great little system from the mouth to all the way up past Tony at Carbrook bait and Tackle Ramp. Barra, Jack, good flatties and Jew.. plus of course bull sharks. I haven’t had a go for prawns but seriously keen to have a crack. Got a good net just need to reach my self how to throw. Great effort for an hours throwing though! Keep up the good honest videos.
Maaaaate. Yep, get a proper net. There’s a few decent mass produced ones that are reasonably priced or if ya gunna get into it more often grab a good custom one.
Cheers Shaun. I know I have been a little quiet lately. I’m editing another vid at the moment and it will be one of my better ones so keep an eye out for that.
You done pretty well considering everything. Just a thought, when you mentioned you're using a lithium battery for your trolling motor, good idea. I did that too as well as changing my cranking battery to a lithium motor bike battery which weighs only 1.8kg. I've got a 2020 60hp Mercury on a 440 Renegade, makes a big difference to the handling and performance. Been using it for 8 months, no problems.
Another nice day out in the Top Ender mate. Good to catch a feed of prawns. As I said earlier it’s good to see you back 😃👍
Good job mate, you know i live two minutes from the Logan River 😂😂
I live 2 seconds from the logan river 😜
You should go prawning then.
🤙love it 🤙
Thanks Jeff. 🍻

That’s good idea about the start battery. I saved 20kg by already by changing the MinnKota battery.
How do u find the minn kota? Have u got spot lock on yours? I’m just tossing up on what to get vs cost and how effective it is for me
It’s been awesome. It has spot lock and all the features. I use spot lock all the time.
