- The SR-M3 is a $60 on-camera microphone by Saramonic. I test it out and compare it to the on-camera mic that's currently dominating the low-budget market, the Rode Videomicro.

this mic is awesome , the small package is deceiving. I was planning to buy a Takstar but bought this instead. The quality is almost as good as my zoom H1 (as per my opinion only.)
why didn't you go with takstar ( it lacks bass) ..this mic. sounds good but there is no actual comparision video on both side to side

Funny, the Rode VM sounds better, much more detailed to me. Yes, preamp noise definitely is higher :)

The Rhode has better isolation and still a nice warm sound... Better clarity..

It would be possible, it does have a 1/4" female thread on the base of it.

What lens is that bro?
The one you see mounted on the camera in the video is the EF-S 17-55mm F2.8, the one used in the outdoor shots is the EF-S 10-22mm. The one that's on my A-Cam is the Sigma 18-35mm.
Ah I see! Great review man! I have heard that the 17-55 IS will degrade over time, is that the case for your lens?
It's not the most wonderfully constructed lens, I particularly hate the focus ring on it, in fact I don't really like the build of the lens in general. But I still use it because the image quality is pretty decent.
