Bro literally killed the first queen of Hyrule, said absolutely nothing, laughed a shit ton, and then hit the most devious smile. ALL WHILE LOOKING LIKE A GREEK GOD. Also, in that one cutscene he has a sick ass horse.

Fun fact: Most versions of Ganondorf are more or less the SAME person.
Ocarina or Time? That was his first appearance.

Ganondorf is at his most intimidating in TotK. Upon being freed, he breaks the Master Sword in half, corroding it, takes away 2 stamina wheels and 17 whole hearts from Link by reducing his arm to a necrotic mess that required Rauru to use his spirit arm to replace Link's, forces Zelda to flee into the past, and releases plagues across the four corners of Hyrule. And that's before he can rehydrate, mind you.
And even in the past, before he got dehydrated, as expected, he was always one step ahead of everybody. Rauru's Secret Stone thwarts his invasion of Hyrule? He learns of the secret stones, decides he wants them, and falsely swears fealty to King Rauru, who doesn't trust him, but accepts his vow of fealty anyways, so it'll be easier to keep tabs on him. However, Ganondorf still has an ace up his sleeve: Phantom Ganon, which lets him get the drop on Queen Sonia and steal her Secret Stone. And he was winning against the seven sages, until Rauru sacrificed his life to seal him, knowing that he can only hold him back for so many millennia.
Ganon is terrifying because he's always a step ahead.
You forgot the memory where he killed Queen Sonia, hits the most devious smile, laughs like a maniac, and teleports away. Absolute legend.

Also, I should note, he didn't just take away 17 hearts. Because in the intro, Link starts with 30 hearts. HE TOOK AWAY 27 HEARTS. And seeing how most Links have 20 hearts max, that means that single attack would have killed most Links. Rauru wasn't kidding when he said he was barely able to save him.

Ganondorf is my all time favorite video game villain, in design, concept, and especially his POWER. Dude is one of the strongest game villains ever made, but people down play this…GOD into some town level threat. This dude is literally a concept made flesh that exists and operates across timelines and dimensions with the ability to literally reality warp entire universes and realms.
And for those who think ganondorf is evil just for the sake of being evil like some mustache twisting villain…this dude is a 4D chess playing strategist who’s always proactive and often times literally requires divine intervention in order to stop him AFTER he’s already won.
I STRONGLY approve this video😎. Give the gerudo demon GOD his props. He deserves to be up there with the greats like Dracula, sephiroth,or kefka, in both villainy and power.
Dude is so powerful he made himself canon across several different timelines in a series where the whole running gag is that little to nothing is consistent. Even Broly only has done that like, once.
To be honest, I used to like Ganon more than Ganondorf as a villain, just for the full on demonic savagery the pig wizard had. Then TOTK happened.
They def deserve to be in CJ Dachamp's round table of menaces. They all have their own brand of Black Air Force energy.
Ganondorf is such a beast in TOTK.

Yeah, Toon Link is pretty dumb. In the Wind Waker manga, during that scene where him and Ganondorf meet, Toon Link literally hides in a corner like a cat. Ganondorf looked so confused lol
To be fair to Smash, they really played up the villainy in Subspace where he's responsible for ROB being the last of his kind.

The tenacity/terror of ocarina ganondorf to me is similar to the impending-ness of Judge holden from blood meridian, or at least that is what they were trying to depict.
Well, Zelda was the Sage of Time in OoT, the leader of the Seven Sages, and set in motion Ganondorf's downfall, leading Link to awakening the other Sages and attacking Ganon's Tower to beat him.

Majora's mask is much more colder than Ganondorf is. While Ganondorf is a fantastic villain, Majora relishes in the pain and suffering of everyone in Termina while Ganondorf focuses more on ruling the entire world... Majora wants to destroy it while causing as much despair and hopelessness as possible.
Ganondorf is such a sub-zero G that even the blatant copy of a D&D character I made was a menace. She was directly responsible for both the creation and destuction of an aspect of a god and the most infamous crime boss on the continent by level 14/20 just to grant herself insane clout, charmed two T-Rexes to serve as mounts, and capped off the campaign with bringing one of the most powerful devils in the multiverse to heel so she could force him to let her leave with no consequences. Carries herself like a bruiser with a sword, but as a Warlock is a master manipulator, devious with illusions, and can still kick ass at any range through spells and weaponry. The moment anyone thought they had her pinned as a swordfighter, a cowardly ranged mage, or a wordsmith with no power of her own, she pivots to a mode they were not ready for and suddenly she's either cut them in half, banished them to the space between dimensions, or raised an army to beat them for her.
She even had a spell to go Super Saiyan for flying sword strikes, it's like if Future Trunks and Babidi fused and it came out as evil Urbosa from Breath of the Wild.

TOTK is great, and by far the best representation of Ganondorf so far
However, in terms of a well written villain.. idk. He literally is just pure evil to be pure evil. Do doesn't really have any depth.
Contrast this with much better villains: Sephiroth (FF7), Dimitri Yuriev (xenosaga), Gongora (Lost Odyssey)
These are all characters that have motivation, reason, backstory to why they are who they are.
Zelda is one of my favourite series, but story wise it really just boils down to Ganon evil, Zelda good, link just does what he's told

Funny thing is, all "later" iterations have more depth by the nature of Demise's curse.
But now Demise is Ganondorf. And it actually made demise less interesting as before you could assume he was evil because he was a demon. Now he's just an asshole.
Also if link kills demise in skyward sword then how is he hanging around in tears?.
@@samreddig8819 Demise never died in Skyward Sword, his spirit was trapped inside the Master Sword and has persisted since then. Also, I don't think it made Demise less interesting in the slightest, Demise was likely created outside the godess' will, and had an innate need to destroy.
Not all villains need a perfect backstory, but Demise is honestly a very interesting villain, he shows acknowledgement of who he's fighting, shows little arrogance, and has a threatening force around him. Although his physical form is likely gone forever, his curse lives on in the form of Ganondorf.
Ganondorf is NOT Demise, just how Ganon is NOT Ganondorf or Demise. Demise is his own being, Ganon and Ganondorf are being created due to Demise's curse, the only reason Ganondorf looks similar to Demise is because of that curse. It's likely that the stronger one is, the closer they are to Demise's original power, the more they'll look like Demise, almost like he's seeping through into the world more and more.
Every Ganondorf before ToTK had depth to them, but this one unfortunately doesn't have nearly as much, which is a let down but doesn't take me away from the character.
This is one of the things that having the imprisoning way happen as you played would've improved by so much, and I'm sure they had the idea in mind and decided not to do it, but still, it's kind of a let down.
I wouldn't say Ganondorf has never had motivation, reason, or backstory though because he has. This latest iteration? Not as much, just like OOT, but people adore OOT Ganondorf anwyays. I'd strongly argue that TP and WW are very unique and well written villains.

Idk how you can say totk Ganondorf is the best iteration and then complain that Ganondorf has no depth. My brother, you literally picked the version of him with no depth and called it the best iteration. Wind Waker Ganondorf is an actual sympathetic villain that actually had a genuine reason for doing all the bad stuff he had been doing. Sure, he doesn't look as cool as totk Ganondorf, that new samurai design is baller as hell, but Ganondorf has definitely had better characterization in the past.
ok want to point out that his first meeting in windwaker with gannon was technically when the bird tossed him. not when he went to confront him with a depowered master sword. just saying.

From someone that doesn't know LoZ, it is shocking how much Ganondorf (and Sonic) doesn't have attack based from his home series.
I get it, he is more of a mental, punishing game like his home series but come on, Smash Bros is supposed to be a celebration of Nintendo character and what made them well-known. How come the creator approves of Ganondorf being Captain Falcon's clone? Project M has proven to bring Ganondorf to what he is meant to be. This fact has me reconsider of what is the design philosophy for Smash. It's a celebration or a mental-focused 2D Fighting Game?
