Fixing the kayak battery issue - Upgrading the connections

- Finally located the issue with the power on the fish finder battery for the Hobie PA 12 360 Drive and Lowrance Hook 5 Side Scan. Looks like it was a faulty charger. But I decided to change over the charging set up to a more reliable method. Check it out. Links to the goods below.

Just one thing about the wiring never crimp always solder and use Liquid insulation by 3M then self Vulcanizing tape then vinyl electrical tape or a shrink tube for a more secure and waterproof connection or else I'm going to tear or if you tip your kayak water will sure enough get into those connections

For mounting the battery I use size large (1.5 lter) waterproof box from walmart. Perfect size for 12v lithium ion and watertight.

Well damn, I just bought a second one of those batteries cuz I thought I destroyed one (it’s still relatively new). Any ideas what’s wrong with the stock connections? I’m wondering if I didn’t need to buy a new battery
This is exactly what happen to me. I actually thought I bought a battery and charger, but I only purchased the battery. Turns out the charger was bad.......... So I decided to go with the Hobie charger. In the big picture, I wasted some money, but I did get the product I wanted out of the mess. Let me know what you do with yours. Good luck!

Hey Af, I’ve got two sorta unrelated questions. 1st, how do you mount your graph on your kayak?
I use the Hobie rail mounting options. I believe it's a 1/2" ball ram mount?
