that's because the modern music scene is scared to take "risks". in other words, the scouts and agents only want acts that sound and look like already-established acts. There are literally "pretty faces" on the music scene nowadays that have zero talent... so little talent, in fact, that they have to use so much autotune it makes them sound like robots. But that's because they don't care how you sound as long as you have a "marketable look". it's absurd. We do have things like this today, but they're all indie artists who don't get signed and don't get radio play. Omg yes I remember watching music videos on mtv and vh1 in the morning before going to my bus stop for school back in those days and this was one of the videos played regularly, 2000-2003
When in love, there is a calm and intensity that comes along with it. This song perfectly captures it all, a major reason why I consider it to be one of the greatest songs released during my lifetime.
One of the greatest rock songs of passionate intimacy mixed with existential angst to come from an undercover Christian band. Wow! It gets better each passing decade.
Lifehouse is not a Christian band. only the singer/songwriter of the band (Jason Wade) is a Christian. or at least that's what he's said numerous times when asked about it.
Yip, @@arciphera, agreed, that is one of the reasons that I wrote "undercover" ... The lyrics of many of the songs make sense from a "singing to God" perspective, but can also kinda make sense from a human relationship perspective.
Jason Wade wrote this song in 5 minutes without even thinking much about it. It's just an all around feel good song that everyone can relate to one way or another. If this leads you to god, then more power to you, but this was not the song's original intention.
After listening to this song for over twenty years, I was driving to work this morning and it was a flood of emotion when I realized this. How could I have missed it?
Here l am 60 years old remembering this exceptional band. Something about them. As a Mother myself of now adult boys l look at Jason and the others and see beautiful boys. This was me and my girlfriend’s song to each other back in 2000. I can still remember it like it was just yesterday. We both have a 17 year old son together who will turn 18 soon.I WILL NEVER FORGET THIS SONG AND OUR PRECIOUS TIMES WE HAD TOGETHER.
Billy airnow this was my 1 year olds favorite song. It would come on the radio and she would get so excited and start dancing in her car seat and pull out her pacifier to sing it. Yesterday I found out she’s pregnant. She’s only 18 and don’t know what she’s getting herself into. This song just takes me back to such a good time in my life, it also makes me really sad that part of my life is over and I’ll never get to experience it again.
@@kaymaysma2011 It'll be ok, she's in for a rough 9 months but as long as she has you it'll be ok. Hopefully the dad is still in the picture because I know how some teenage boys can be. I'm 22 and my wife and I ended up pregnant at 16. It was a scary thing at the time but I wouldn't ever be able to trade feeling the little kicks and movements in her mommies tummy or her first cries and how beautiful she was when she was born. We ended up getting married not long after I found out. I knew that a part of my life was over and a new one was just starting and it's been amazing. She's 5 about to turn 6 and she's a little ball of energy. At the time I was scared but now I couldn't be happier because not only did our daughter bring us closer it reminded me of all the reasons I liked my wife and how I came to love her then and all over again when I got to see her hold our little princess and the glow she had around her. As long as the boy that got her pregnant steps up he's going to find out that even though he may ha e lost a few years of his life he traded them for something so much more beautiful. That in itself is worth something more than anything the world could ever hope to offer. Being a mother though I know you know that. Just thought I'd offer something that may or may not ease your worries.

This song has brought the most enduring and memorable 'coming of age' memory that I can remember with my sister. Back then, the radio games include playing songs and listener have to guess the title, album and band name, whatever the question will be. This song came up and I have to stop my sister from talking and she automatically jumped in the phone and dial the radio number and boom! She was on air, she didnt know exactly the question and I have NO idea about the answers as well. She was talking to the DJ on air and had to be asked, she joyfully answered she had no idea about the question but because I prompted her to call, so she did. The people in the radio station was having a good time and they allowed her to win. We were so proud to be the most undeserving winner of that radio show ever! Thank you for posting this video,I'll have to remind my sister about this.

i just listening to this song for the first time since i first came out and my gosh this song if anything is better than i remember it being. oh my gosh this song has magic and power and impact and meaning. this song forever will be important to me. wow. man if you can capture the power in this song and put it in ever song then every song would be magical! his voice in the chorus makes my head move in emotion wow.
I know what you mean. Im 32 now and was 15 when this song came out. I was super into the swimgirl that came past this gym i worked out at vigoriously. I remember listening to this song working out in the gym and was so pumped. Back thenni was a gym freak and was very aesthetic....good old days when life was simple and everyone was respectful and kind to one another. Now this world is so hateful and sensitive and music that makes my ears bleed. I can LEGIT say im proud to have lived to hear amazing music before it went to trash and lived in an era where life was amazing with amazing music that touched your soul. Sometimes hearing these classic songs make me depressed cause i cant relive those days when I was young and in my own world. Time flies by so fast and it seems to be getting harder.
No your not. I would rather be a little older and grew up listening to great music to see what people who are 20 are now listening to. No culture. Nothing to aspire too. And they look up to no talent hack mumbling rappers. White girls that wake up everyday to think about the next tik-toc video that they can make dancing to mental midget ghetto boi rap degrading themselves. Nope I would much rather be 40 like yourself.
At 34 now, I used to think this was too soft, mainstream. Needless to say, I took it for granted. I just realized today how much I authentically love this song.
I was 16 yro way back i can still remember ,how i get excited everytime hearing even just the intro of this song from the radio then pumping up the volume to the fullest then sing along... woah time really flies ❣️
Brings me back to the days of sitting in the back of my parents Lumina and hearing this song come on when it was a hit. Matchbox 20, The Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind, oh those were the good days of music.
Matthew 11:28-29 Modern English Version (MEV) 28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.[a]

I like this music video better than the more “professional” one on the band’s official RUclips account. It’s the original as well iirc.
i just listening to this song for the first time since i first came out and my gosh this song if anything is better than i remember it being. oh my gosh this song has magic and power and impact and meaning. this song forever will be important to me. wow. man if you can capture the power in this song and put it in ever song then every song would be magical! his voice in the chorus makes my head move in emotion wow.
I was 22 when this song came out. I remember recording it off MTV onto VHS tape. I am now 40. I feel old now. 😒 😱
me too
I hear ya brother/sister.
Time flies by so fast and it seems to be getting harder.
same
No your not.
And it's so much more rock than anything you hear played today. I like that it's both rock but still melodic.
I was 16 yro way back i can still remember ,how i get excited everytime hearing even just the intro of this song from the radio then pumping up the volume to the fullest then sing along... woah time really flies ❣️
Oh honey, we still do........
I miss the early Mtv days of good music in the 2000s.
Still watching ( 2022). Take care out there.
My favorite song growing up!
One of their best songs!
This MV is much better than the other one.
Look how young they were! Such a staple of the 2000s era of music.
The songs we grew up listening to seem to be more important than what's going on now ❤
Well said, brother
Agree with that 👌 💯 👍 😊
Great great song
Grandiosa canción, lástima que no haya mas canciones como esta!!!
Lamentablemente Si ☹️😔
Seen them live and they sound just as good
omg still love this in 2019
A very personal song for me. Love the lyrics
This is the music video that i remember. I dont know about the other one😂
Brings me back to the days of sitting in the back of my parents Lumina and hearing this song come on when it was a hit. Matchbox 20, The Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind, oh those were the good days of music.
What happened to those times and their music?
This was my first favorite song ever and first CD that I purchased. I will forever love this song.
Same.
Matthew 11:28-29 Modern English Version (MEV)
28 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me. For I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.[a]
Been looking for this song for 30 years. It always pops up in my head
His voice.... Its incredible

There's nothing in the worrrrrld 🌎 that can change my miiiind.
90's music is still the best.
"There's nothing else to lose, there's nothing left to find. There is nothing in the world that can change my mind. There is nothing else. There is nothing else. There is nothing else." 💛
Biggest song of 2001 in America. Should have more views.
55 years old and I still believe in true love, real love.
