i am having the same problem the left side comes out where it says, and it has 17 rows in the pattern but my right opening ends up every were but where it should and only has 16 rows which makes it shorter than the left one. I bought the pattern but its still not coming up where it should

First, thank you for a pattern to go with the braided scarf!!! But, you said it had subtitles....though you do have a few....you don't give all the instructions in it so it's easy for beginners to get lost. 😱😞😪😭 Maybe I was spoiled on your braided scarf tutorial, which was great for advanced beginners and on, but this is a bit tougher to follow. This is especially true bc the color yarn you are using is very dark and thus very difficult to see what you are doing (which a lighter yarn would make up or the lack of instructions bc we could see what you were doing ☺️😉😇😄.). So is it possible to request a tutorial for this in a lighter color and in English, so we could hear all of the amazing tips you give when talking through the tutorial??? Pretty, pretty pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease, with all the goodies you love piled a mile high on top?!? (I hope you get that little joke...idk how many American idioms you know, lol) Pllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease..........and............Thank You!!! 😇😊😄
I'm not advanced in crocheting, but used common sense for most of the pattern, while watching what she wad doing. Every double crochet is in the back loop for example, even when that's not said in the text. And it's always 23 half double crochets into the loop. It's pretty much just the same thing repeated over and over again, except for the thumb hole part. For the right handed version's thumbhole, I just did my chain 3 at the end (while also skipping three to have an opening), and slip stitching the chain into the end there "like normal". Worked well for me. Was a tad worried about that part, but that solution worked fine. Biggest problem I have now is finding nice buttons to sow onto them.
I agree with what Michelle said. And to add to that Karen please can you offer measurements for hand sizes. Because I don't think that 24 chains would fit someone with larger hands.

I tried making it with 24 foundation chains but I found that to be too small. I had to add 10 more chains.

I think the video describes the left hand mitten. For the right mitten, you have to make the hole for the thumb at the en of the row. I tried it.

For right hand just take the same distance of 5/6/7 stitches from the braid loop.
I just skipped 3 stiches at the end of my row, chained three and slip stiched to end "like normal". Worked fine for me.

All she did was stitched the hole a bit after all the loops are braided. She did it so her button would not slip out of the hole.
