Alex is the ONLY guy that throws vertical calf kicks. Never heard that term before? It because he's the only one to ever do it. Everyone else throws horizontal.
If you look at jiri record no one has done anything like that to him. So there is no knock on jiri. Alex is just on a different level, with a lot of the current light heavy weights.
Power. Striking Technique. Ability to win title matches. Leg Kicks. Left Hook. Height. Chael is the man and his point remains, but those are a few tradeable things.
Pereira has energy abilities which help him fight. I'm not talking about the shaman stuff, he fights restrained but is able to sense miniscule movements in his opponents and BOOM they're done. They get lulled to sleep by his restraint
Mariano Rivera was another great example...you know what he is going to do and still surprise you!!...😂😂😂😂 those special ones just got it...great video sr
He reads body language well and has mastered distance on multiple types of ranges of different style fighters. He throws short compact shots while being in range to trade if needed.
we’ll know when Alex has accomplished enough when Chael bothers to learn how to pronounce his name. as of right now he’s still hasn’t done enough. you’ll get acknowledged one day Peehera.
I think what allot of people don’t get about Pereira is that he doesn’t just have good tools like (calf) kicks left hook and punches, He doesn’t just do what he feels like he has a true process in wich certain strikes set up different things. This combined with CRIMINALLY underated fight IQ, timing and range management
Conor also didn't expose boxing as fake. He showed that everyone will follow the money so it doesn't matter about your record. He very much got his ass handed to him though and showed we have different sports for a reason.
@@brandongratta9040 while I agree that in the end Connor did get his ass handed to him, I tend to agree with Chael’s larger point, that Connor did faaar better than he should have. There’s no other sport this could be done with. There is absolutely no one who does wrestling part time, and wouldn’t get destroyed in the first min by a high school state champ. You’re not playing street ball part time, and will be competitive for even a min in the NBA. If you have great part-time boxing skills, you can go quite far in pro boxing. That statement would be the literal definition of embarrassment in any other sport..
@@SoleSavr fair point but I would have to argue otherwise. Mayweather was a showman who after hand injuries and moving up several classes, stopped KO'ing and instead began to cruise to easy UD victories. Conor was his first TKO in 10 yrs if you exclude his Ortiz sucker punch. Not only that, but there is footage of May going to his corner smiling and saying "it's time!" Before stopping Conor the following round. Conor didn't do well because of his skill. It's because his opponent allowed him. Any other boxer of that caliber would've had him out in 2 rounds. Look at all the MMA fighters struggling to beat Jake Paul, who is an amateur in every sense of the word. I agree with your point on an amateur skill level, but in the pros the only thing exposed are the people crossing over
@@brandongratta9040 how bout Ngannue? What Joshua did to him, I’d like to say EVERY pro should do that to him every single time. But we can’t honestly say Ngannou gets handled like that more than 7/10 times. Hell, Francis knocked down arguably the best ever. And practically speaking he just recently learned mma, and spent even less time boxing. Neither you nor I are EVER gonna get a hit off MLB pitcher…but if you are strong, and practiced boxing part time for few years..you can hang with the best ever, who’s been doing it full time since he was a child.
He's always been aware of the best and most available weapons. He can operate with them at an extremely high level. That's why he's the best right now.
He's not afraid to lose. I know it might sound obvious, but I truly believe that's the case for him and not for many others. And when I say scared, I don't necessarily mean of the opponent, I mean stressing about money, opportunities and what not. That has to be quite liberating. Every time Alex loses, he gets up, shakes hands and starts getting ready for the next fight.
Chana doesn’t skim by with decision win Every fight is exiting He doesn’t fight once a year or once in 2/3 years He fought four times Chama doesn’t fight with old men at the tale end of a faded career Chana is exiting and interesting and a good person He is my 🐐 Jon Jones is irrelevant to real mma fans just like McGregor
Chael, I know you think Peyara was motivated to come back by the words of Izzy but local legend on the street is that he didnt take too lightly what you said about brazil.. ;)❤
Alex is a two division world kickboxing champion and former pro boxer that transferred to MMA. He’s insanely talented and accomplished, not a random guy who just came from off the street. He has taken his championship mentality and applied it to adding the grappling elements of MMA. Fortunately he has had time to work on this as he’s mostly had to fight other strikers like Izzy, Strickland, Hill and Jiri.
Pereira does all of the right things. Pereira may achieve GOAT status very soon. Pereira always has good fights to watch. Yet, I really can’t call myself a fan. Not sure why, but I don’t get as excited for his fights as several other (and likely lesser) fighters. I acknowledge his excellence and admire what an absolute gamer he is, but it just doesn’t go too far past that. 🤷🏻♂️
Pereira has accomplished so much that Uncle Chael is making a good faith effort to learn to pronounce his name 🔥 We now call “Pu-Harrah” the man who was once “Piera.” If he becomes champ/champ/champ, I think we’ll get the next evolution of Chael’s take on his name. “Pu-Harrah” said in a promo piece last night that he’s always evolving his game. Uncle Chael is no different.
Chael is a guy who defends his point of view even if there are solid reasons in front of him saying that the reasoning part of his arguments is minimal. This personality trait is a full plate for the "majority" to push an image of him as unlikable, unserious, polemical and everything else you can find without difficulty in a quick search. But it is precisely against this forced imposition of ideas and standards by the mainstream majority that Chael is most notable. In fact, there is another characteristic that is just as striking and just as remarkable as his authenticity, which is his naturalness in expressing sincerely what his sense of what is ethical and what is fair says, even if he has to impose himself on the noise of his own ego to do so. For those who think this is no big deal, I suggest facing the mirror and telling yourself if you can do it.
It's just years on top of years doing the basics and mastering them. He spent so long doing kickboxing, which only lets you use kicks, punches, and knees. So he's figured out how to use them very well
He's the most decisive fighter ever. He moves on quickly and when his mind is made up it's made up. It shows in the ring and out of the ring. When it's time to throw the ending shot there's no hesitation. Even when he got knocked out by Izzy, it never really seemed to effect him at all. He just moved on, called him out one more time, didn't get the answer he wanted and moved on to the next fight.
I agree Poatan is special win or loss he has only been in this sport for 2 2.5 years he can only get better and he has already made history and did what Izzy another future hall of famer was unable to do he may one day be the first 3 weight champ and he is the only many to win gold in kickboxing and mma in multiple weight classes he has the hardest recorded punch in human history and his fight I.Q. is off the charts the way he steps in and is saving these shows I'm a big fan of Alex and I wouldn't be suprised if he is the goat or one of them in UFC history when it's all said and done
Pereira in a way could be the Mike Tyson of UFC once retired… completely different careers and paths to stardom but he has that Mike Tyson feeling and impact to him
Based on Mighty mouse’s analysis it really comes down to simple but extremely clean technique. He did a great job breaking down the Jiri fight. He also doesn’t post his pre-fight sparring on instagram for his opponents to see 😂
Yuri = incredible! When you fight like a warrior, normal rules do not apply. I would watch that man fight any day of the week. Would I rather watch someone win or watch a real warrior fight, regardless of the outcome. I'll choose the watching a true Warrior fight every single time. Much respect to Yuri. Alex is un-fucking-believable. I did not think he would win. That's the last time I am ever doubting that man.
It’s because he is knocking out everyone’s favourite fighters, he is respectful, has integrity always, he rises above, is active & knocks people out like Conor used too! It’s much watch TV
Uncle Chael, you called it but this one time you didn't take it far enough. I'm sure you could have went 10 minutes on this. With the Confidence - If he knows he's one of the best if not the best strikers in the game right now, then he has to believe that when he lands, anyone is taking a nap and that's what we see. The second part is he's accomplished/aged enough to have nothing to lose or get embarrassed by, he didn't become a safer fighter after a loss... Lawrence Taylor said one year in the pros he felt like a man playing football with boys, I bet that's what Alex is feeling like at the stand up right now.

He also doesn't fight with emotion, but rather like a predator stalking prey. That being said Jiri is a tough night for anyone. I give a slight edge to Alex, but Jiri is always dangerous unless he's out.
if Pereira had 2% less power I would give the fight to Jiri every time, but Jiri's style lets him get hit and Pereira has crazy knock out power that even Jiri's titanium chin cant stand against for long
Jiri doesn't check kicks, that's his weakness.
@@luuk8684 he head butted his opponent's punch in his last fight, he literally blocked a punch with his head
@davidyeager4411 i know. His defense is his weaker side.
I thought Jiri was going to grapple a lot more, Alex shut'em down & made it an easy night
Alex is truly the Ultimate fighter. Fights 6 times a year. Anytime, Anywhere, any notice. As the champion. Dude is bout that life for real. Plus he puts people away. Love that guy.
LETS GO ALEX!!!!
Pereira wow. Pereira is the guy who beats Jones. In any weight class. He's a class of his own.
JJ would have to take him down. He will not strike with Poaton.
@@krazyhorse9596prime jones win but right now no chance pereira smash
@@NatanQuintas Would be a damn good fight.
@@NatanQuintas Prime bones and Pereira taps faster than Gane did
Why can I sit and listen to this guy all day? I know nothing about UFC but this makes me wanna learn!
Chael: “Hey, you’re the man, kid!”
Me: (instantly grows mustache)
Some men make other men blossom 🌸
Those dings have me checking my texts 🤣.
Like we say here in Brasil: this guy is “cheio de canto”; so, where you hit, YOU feel the pain. 🤷🏻♂️
Full of song, what a gorgeous way to say flowing with power!
Chama, haha, Poatan is a meandering boss fight, wandering wherever he finds the competition wanting, to elevate the whole dam game
@@Scp716creativecommons actually, it means "full of corners". Anywhere you hit him, it's like hitting the corner of a wall
CHAMA - Still didn't see anyone get it right.
Well in portuguese language CHAMA can be many things: flame or fire, call someone, but it really means for brazilians guy is something hard to explain. I bet we could say: TAKE IT OVER.
@@davidpaschoal2497 canto, for corner, vs stanza, for straight; in poetry the turning and walling which builds a whole song, like a room.
Full of corners. yes, when you hit a corner, you either miss, and slip off, or hit, and hurt yourself. Another interpretation is like electricity, or music, where in a corner, or pocket, is keeping the flowing rhythm. Also, to change the direction of that energy, you either need to torque it, or up the amperage and jump the gap, avoiding the corner pocket.
Chama, fire, potential energy unleashed. You can say I'm "reading to far into it" but, I'll take umbrage and retort, "that's a purpose of poetry, to see how many layers of depth are hidden by the occulting surface visage". Cheio de canto, full of corners, like a tesla valve, beautiful turn of phrase(get it, turn, like a corner on a marked page?)
Edit: Canto means song for the same reason it means corner. Being enchanted by a thing, is to be cornered by it, unable to escape it's spell

Truly respected and admired by everyone!
Alex is the ONLY guy that throws vertical calf kicks.
Never heard that term before? It because he's the only one to ever do it. Everyone else throws horizontal.
That's a honorable man. win or lose, fighting with honour 💥
Jiri is the first fighter to be knocked out twice in the same fight
Wrong
If you look at jiri record no one has done anything like that to him. So there is no knock on jiri. Alex is just on a different level, with a lot of the current light heavy weights.
lol you forgot about the Chinese girls fighting a cpl events back?? 😂😂
@@Caleb-sl5vn Dude, I put in the search "Chinese girls cpl" and the first video is two Chinese girls kissing each other 😅
No
Been with the ufc since ufc 1. This guy is special. Him vs Jones….that is the fight to make.
7:23 Jiří called attention to his uinique factor: BLACK MAGIC!
🕯🗿🕯
Alex come in and over time has won me over as a huge fan.
Power. Striking Technique. Ability to win title matches. Leg Kicks. Left Hook. Height. Chael is the man and his point remains, but those are a few tradeable things.
Chael, I love the way you wrap your envy and jealousy in a thin veil of praise
Haha😂😂 Chael you would trade it in a second 😂😂😂
Pereira has energy abilities which help him fight. I'm not talking about the shaman stuff, he fights restrained but is able to sense miniscule movements in his opponents and BOOM they're done. They get lulled to sleep by his restraint
Magic abilities...
Pereira is 36. Hes in last years of his prime or rather …hes actually a bit past his prime. So hes sprinting to use what he has left.
imagine if Herb made the Khaby Lame meme to show what would happen if he hadn't stopped the last fight when he stopped
None of this matters. Uncle Chael is a UFC hall of Fame!!!!!! Talk about that Chael
I love Peheireira too so much
I think what allot of people don’t get about Pereira is that he doesn’t just have good tools like (calf) kicks left hook and punches, He doesn’t just do what he feels like he has a true process in wich certain strikes set up different things. This combined with CRIMINALLY underated fight IQ, timing and range management
Poatan is the man 🗿🔥🔥🔥
"Fighting down at the tavern" lmao unc be reminiscing on some medieval peasantry shenanigans
Pereria watches and stalks for the K.O. And he's good at it.
Chael was quick to point out how Connor exposed boxing as a fake sport..but it takes The Guru to say Alex Perreira is exposing MMA in the same way
Conor also didn't expose boxing as fake.
Pereira is a Troll Shaman, for the Horde!
6:55 Alex is a black belt. Given to him in the octagon
8:30
"His lead leg is for a distraction" 💀 not this time Chael
His consistency has become a superpower
Great analysis... Alex is the Master of fundamentals, simple as that. Like a Tim Duncan of MMA
Great reference.
Pierra is Conor-like. Precise, lethal, sniper.
Alex, he is incredible!
Here for the chance Chael mispronounces it as "Pee-air-uh" 😂😂😂
Anderson silva of this era
He's not afraid to lose. I know it might sound obvious, but I truly believe that's the case for him and not for many others. And when I say scared, I don't necessarily mean of the opponent, I mean stressing about money, opportunities and what not. That has to be quite liberating. Every time Alex loses, he gets up, shakes hands and starts getting ready for the next fight.
Who’s here after seeing Alex’s 2rd KO of Jiri
👇
He's not staying long at the top judging by his age but he's definitely speedrunning his way to HoF and possibly GOAT status
Chana doesn’t skim by with decision win
Every fight is exiting
He doesn’t fight once a year or once in 2/3 years
He fought four times
Chama doesn’t fight with old men at the tale end of a faded career
Chana is exiting and interesting and a good person
He is my 🐐
Jon Jones is irrelevant to real mma fans just like McGregor
I LOVE how Chael talked about something with the greats bodies…. My body is weird too. So now that Chael said this, it’s official I am a great.
He’s special- Uncle Chael has noticed this uniquely special individual from the beginning!!! Great eye!!!!!
Great video.
No telegraphing at all he generates power so weirdly no one else does that so well.
Chael, I know you think Peyara was motivated to come back by the words of Izzy but local legend on the street is that he didnt take too lightly what you said about brazil..
;)❤
George Foreman. But I love Alex and still agree
Pereira has accomplished so much that Uncle Chael is making a good faith effort to learn to pronounce his name 🔥
We now call “Pu-Harrah” the man who was once “Piera.”
If he becomes champ/champ/champ, I think we’ll get the next evolution of Chael’s take on his name.
“Pu-Harrah” said in a promo piece last night that he’s always evolving his game. Uncle Chael is no different.
Wait a minute did Chael almost get Alex’s name right?
Shaman's power is unstoppable

He has become my favorite fighter. Part of it is because of his behavior outside the ring as well. He seems like a good person.
King chael recognize talent baby! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
He also doesn’t post his pre-fight sparring on instagram for his opponents to see 😂
Thumbnails fina looking like made by my old Math teacher 😭 🙏with that big face looking randomly out of the screen 😂
Maybe one more win and Chael will give the man enough respect to say his name right lol
Alex is an assassin!
He has the look of Fedor....
Straight killer
Pererria is the new tool to poke bones with...... I like it.
Could Alex handle Jon’s grappling?
Pieerria keeps getting better
It’s because he is knocking out everyone’s favourite fighters, he is respectful, has integrity always, he rises above, is active & knocks people out like Conor used too! It’s much watch TV
He is the perfect storm.
