I binged watched all 8 episodes and I give it an 10/10.

I was hyped when I saw the first teaser but was even more when Welcome to the Black Parade was in the oficial trailer. Still haven't seen the show but it gives me TUA vibes.

There are a lot of places you could go with the sandman lore. I was actually kind of bummed that they burned through so many of the classic comic arcs in just one season. It was a great show though and this is a lot of fun so far. Netflix did not make it obvious that this was at all connected to sandman though. It took seeing death to figure it out. It's been so long since I read the comics that I forgot all about these guys.
I just about jizzed in my pants when Death showed up. Spent a few seconds going 'it can't be, hang on - there's the Ankh, it fucking well is. It's been years since I read the comics too, I now have the three-volume omnibus and I'm slowly working my way through it. Took me a while to actually find the characters in volume 1, issue #25
I love all the little crossovers that happen, the Neil Gaiman/Tori Amos cross-referencing was the first one I noticed, came as such a nice surprise

@stevegoodson9022 never made it to the end of the series. Bought a bunch and my comic reading eventually dropped off
I wish they were nicer to the im wan detective, she was the main reason I watched the show and they’re like totally insensitive to her being stalked liked and stuff
Ngl it would've been really cool if they kept the same Dead Boy Detectives from 'Doom Patrol' that way 'The Sandman', 'Dead Boy Detectives', and 'Doom Patrol' all could've been in their own shared universe instead of just 'The Sandman' and 'Dead Boy Detectives'.
Agreed it would also be cool if John Constantine from the arrowverse made a crossover
But isn’t Doom Patrol connected to Titans? Batman and Superman are known in The Sandman series, but only as comic book characters. So, I think it makes sense to change actors.
they are all in the same multiverse under DC. Just not the same universe. The endless travel through dimension and different universe too.
@mattsergs5027 Ik it made sense to make the change in actors but they simply could've acknowledged that those characters exist or not have any mentions to them then it would've worked. Also the show 'Doom Patrol' and the show 'Titans' are not connected.
@@obsidian2249 Ah, so it’s a different Doom Patrol from a separate universe. But what do you mean by ‘not having any mentions of them’? I believe they don’t want to connect the Sandman Universe to the DC superhero universe, which is why they avoid acknowledging the other universes. However, they do include easter eggs that imply the existence of those characters, but again, only as comic book characters.

How come the guys are so mean to the woman detective they have with them, it made them very unlikable to me

It’s not the both of them, only one of them. One of them is jealous of Crystal (the woman detective) and didn’t want her to join the team until the end of ep 1
The story started so interesting, but after three episodes 1/3 of the story line until last episode 8 is about gay boys and lesbian women, the acting and directing gets very poor and cheap, low budget, but over-fantastic (like Buffy) with some parts reminding on Sandman. Some main actor changing by episode 7 and 8. Therefore, after half of the season: forget it. Sorry for the good story intentions at the beginning.
